Output your effects mono to a standard amplifier, or to a stereo setup.

Be sure to connect your guitar to the mono input jack on your ToneCore.

LINE 6 VERBZILLA - Verbizilla Pilot's Handbook - 3

Or, you can feed the stereo input of your ToneCore with a mono or stereo effect pedal instead of a guitar.

Greetings and salutations! Thank you for inviting the Line 6 Verbzilla reverb pedal into your life.

Effect On-Off / Power Indicator Light

The Power Indicator Light on your ToneCore uses two colors to indicate the pedal's state:

Light not lit - Effect is bypassed (off)
GREEN - Effect is engaged (on)
- RED (flashing) - Batteries should be replaced
This low power indication will override all other states

Power Jack

Connect an optional ToneCore-compatible Line 6 power supply like the DC-1, and you'll never need a 9-volt battery again!

Connections and Power Indicator Light

In Jacks

Use a standard guitar cable to connect your guitar, or the output of another effect to use in combination with your ToneCore. If you're feeding a mono signal to your Verbzilla, use the MONO/L jack. Like most pedals, inserting a plug into this jack will turn on the power to your ToneCore. Disconnect both input plugs from jacks when the ToneCore is not being used.

Out Jacks

Use a standard guitar cable to connect to the inputs of a guitar amp, or the inputs of another effect that will feed your amp. For mono, use the MONO/L jack.

Foot Switch

Stomp on this to turn the effect sound processing on and off.

Mix

Allows you to control the amount of reverb in your signal. Fully counter clockwise will give you no reverb, fully clockwise will give you 100% reverb (no dry signal).

Decay

Controls how quickly the reverb tail fades to silence.

Time

Controls the length of pre-delay from 10ms to 200ms. Pre-delay is the amount of delay before the reverb chamber and is adjusted with this control.

Tone

Allows you to adjust the tonal character of the reverb, giving you the flexibility to go from dark and subtle to bright and splashy.

Trails Switch

Turn Trails Switch on to keep Verbzilla's processing engaged while in bypass, so your reverb smoothly trail away when you kick the effect off.

Function Control Knob

  • '63 Spring: Based on a 1963 brown spring rever head unit. Best known for great surf guitar tone!
  • Spring: Based on a studio spring reverb. A spring reverb's characteristic resonant sound was created by springs suspended inside a metal box. Sweet!
  • Plate: Based on an studio Plate reverb. A plate reverb's character is similar to that of the spring. They both have a metallic resonant quality. Plate reverbs consisted of a thin metal sheet suspended inside a box. Dampening the metal plate would give the user control over the reverberant effect.
  • Room: Simulates the acoustic properties of a classic echo chamber, which was a room used in early recording studios for reverber effects. Smaller then a hall, room reversals consists mainly of early reflections.

Controls

Function Control Knob

  • Chamber: An elongated ambient space such as a hall, stairwell or elevator shaft creates this reverb type. Dreamy.
  • Hall: Simulates the sound of a concert hall or large open space with a strong reverb tail. Imagine a gymnasium, performance hall, or cathedral.
  • Ducking: Built using a 'Hall' but with a ducking effect. The volume of your reverb is "ducked" (reduced) while you're playing, and increases when you stop. This allows for clean musical passages with a touch of reverb that ramps up in volume once you stop playing. All of your passages will end with a reverb tail, but the passage itself will not be clouded.

  • Octo: Creates a lush, ambient space with a harmonized decay whose harmonic denseness is controlled by the time knob. Use volume swells and prepare to float on a cloud 9!............CRAZY!

  • Cave: Surreal cavernous echo chamber. I'm just a simple caveman... Your world frightens and confuses me... what more can be said.
  • Tile: Emulates the acoustic reflections of a tiled room, such as a bathroom or shower, with clearer/brighter discreet early reflections.
  • Echo: Just like it says ...echo...echo...echo. This is a lush echo with reverb.
