  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years old and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children unless they are over 8 years old and are under supervision. Keep this appliance and its power cord out of reach of children under the age of 8.
  • This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or appropriate instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • The appliance must not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its power cable out of the reach of children.
  • This symbol means “Caution: hot surface”. The accessible surfaces of the appliance may reach high temperatures during operation. Be careful not to burn yourself.

  • Make sure that the mains voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating label of the appliance and that the wall outlet is earthed.
  • Do not immerse the cable, plug, or any other non-removable part of the appliance in water or any other liquid. Do not expose the electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the device.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not touch the water!
  • Check the power cable regularly for visible damage. If the cable is damaged, it must be repaired by the official Cecotec Technical Support Service to avoid any type of danger.
  • Do not carry or pull the appliance from the power cable. Do not use the power cable as handle. Do not push the cable against corners or sharp edges. Do not crush the power cable with the full weight of the appliance. Keep the cable away from hot surfaces.
  • Do not operate the appliance if its cable, plug, or body show visible damage, do not operate properly, or have been dropped.

  • Do not use the appliance in confined spaces with explosive or flammable vapours.

  • Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
  • Unplug it from the power supply when you finish using it and before leaving the room.
  • Avoid spillage on the conductor cable.
  • The surface of the heating element is subject to residual heat after use.

2. BEFORE USE

  • This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the device if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
  • Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.

3. OPERATION

Basic instructions for using the kettle

  • The refilled water level must be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks.
  • Switch the kettle off before removing it from the base.
  • Close the cover and make sure it is securely closed.
  • The base and exterior of the kettle must not get wet.

ENGLISH

  • The body of the appliance must fit the base.
  • Do not open the cover when pouring.
  • Be careful when opening the cover to avoid splashing the condensed water that is already on the cover.

Before using the kettle for the first time

Before using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you clean it.

  1. To do this, fill it as full as possible with water and bring it to the boil.
  2. When the water is boiling, discard it.
  3. Repeat this process 2 or 3 times if necessary.

Use

  1. To fill the kettle, remove it from the base and open the cover, fill the kettle with the desired amount of water.

NOTE:

Always fill the kettle between the minimum (0.5 l) and maximum (1.7 l) marks. If the water level does not exceed the "MIN" mark, the kettle will switch off before the water boils.

Do not fill the kettle above the "MAX" mark, as water may spill out of the spout while boiling.

Make sure the cover is well placed before plugging the appliance into the mains.

  1. Put the cover on.
  2. Place the kettle on the base making sure that the kettle makes contact with the base.
  3. Connect the power cable to a plug socket.
  4. Move the lever to the "I" position, the indicator light on the lever will switch on. The water will then start to boil. The kettle and the indicator light will automatically switch off when the water has boiled. You can switch off the kettle any time by pressing the lever.

NOTE: make sure that the lever is free of obstructions and that the cover is properly closed. The kettle will not switch off if the lever is blocked or if the cover remains open.

  1. Lift the kettle from the base and pour out the water.

NOTE: be careful when pouring water, as you may burn yourself. Do not open the kettle cover while the water is hot.

  1. The kettle will not boil again until the lever is lifted. Allow to cool for 15\~20 seconds before reopening to boil the water. You can leave the kettle on the base when not in use.

NOTE: make sure the kettle is unplugged when not in use.

Dry boiling protection

If you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the dry boiling protection will automatically switch off the appliance.

If this happens, allow the kettle to cool down before filling it with cold water for reuse.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
  2. To avoid risk of electric shock, do not clean the base with water or immerse it in it.
  3. A slightly damp, clean cloth can be used for cleaning.
  4. Do not use abrasive detergents or corrosive cleaning products.

Descaling

  • Depending on the quality of the water in your area, limescale deposits may form inside the appliance, so it is advisable to remove them regularly.
  • Any warranty claims will be void if the appliance malfunctions due to insufficient descaling.

To perform a correct descaling, follow the steps below:

  1. A mixture of 0.5 litres of water and 40 ml of vinegar is suitable for descaling.
  2. Pour in the descaling solution.
  3. Switch on the appliance until the solution reaches boiling temperature.
  4. Leave it on for a short period of time.
  5. To clean the main body after descaling, rinse it thoroughly with clean water.

NOTE

  • During descaling, make sure that there is sufficient ventilation and do not inhale vinegar fumes.
  • Do not pour descaling products into enamelled sinks.

Cleaning the kettle housing

Use a soft, damp brush to clean the housing of the appliance.

WARNING: do not use chemicals, steel wool or abrasive detergents to clean the kettle body, as these may damage its glossy finish.

Cleaning the filter

If necessary, clean the filter with a soft, damp brush.

Storage

When the kettle is not in use, store the power cable in the compartment under the base.
