Maintenance
-
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair service using only identical replacement parts.
It is recommended that you wear ear protection.
WARNINGS:
- Vibration and noise emissions during actual use of the power tool may differ from the total declared value depending on the way the tool is used, especially depending on the type of workpiece being worked on.
- It is necessary to identify safety measures to protect the operator that are based on an estimation of exposure under actual conditions of use (taking into account all parts of the manoeuvring cycle, such as the times when the tool is de-energised and when it is idle, as well as the trigger pull
time).
- ⚠ This symbol means: caution.
- This symbol means: read the instruction manual.
Safety instructions for all operations
E. Wear hearing protection when impact drilling. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
A. Use the auxiliary handle(s). Loss of control can cause personal injury.
B. Secure the tool properly before use. This tool produces high output torque and, without properly securing the tool during operation, loss of control may occur resulting in personal injury.
C. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden cables or its own cable. Contact of the cutting accessory with a “live” cable may cause exposed metal parts of the power tool to become “live” and could shock the operator.
Safety instructions when using long drill bits
A. Never operate the tool at a speed greater than the maximum recommended speed for the drill bit. At higher speeds, the drill bit is likely to bend and rotate freely without contacting the workpiece, which can result in personal injury.
B. Always start drilling at low speed and with the tip of the drill bit in contact with the workpiece. At higher speeds, the drill bit is likely to bend and rotate freely without contacting the workpiece, which can result in personal injury.
C. Apply pressure only in direct line with the drill bit and do not apply excessive pressure. Drill bits can bend, causing breakage or loss of control, which can result in personal
injury.

3. OPERATION
Note:
You should always take the necessary precautions, such as wearing protective gloves and making sure that the drill is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before carrying out any manipulation on its components.
- Pressure: when drilling, never push hard on the drill bit to speed up the process, as this will damage the drill chuck, reduce the efficiency of the work and shorten the service life of the drill chuck.
- Use of large diameter: the larger the diameter of the chuck, the greater the counterforce exerted with the hands. Be careful not to lose control of the drill due to excessive counter force. For good control, you should hold the drill firmly with both hands and keep the drill chuck and the drill base in a vertical position.
- During hole drilling, a sudden movement of the drill bit may occur, causing damage to the drill chuck or the main body of the drill bit. Therefore, you should be alert to stop pushing at any time.
- Trigger operation:
A. Press the on/off trigger and the lock switch so that the tool operates continuously.
B. To stop continuous operation, press the on/off trigger again to deactivate the lock.
NOTE: the speed of this tool is internally controlled and is determined by the power of its operation. This means that the rotational speed of the appliance is automatically adjusted according to the force and intensity with which it is being used.
Drill bit assembly on the drill chuck
- Locate the drill chuck, which is the front part of the drill where the drill bits are inserted and held. Ensure that the drill chuck is clean and free of obstructions.
- Turn the drill chuck key counterclockwise to open it fully, holding the back part of the drill chuck firmly to be able to do so. This will allow you to insert the drill bit properly.
- Select the right drill bit for your task. Make sure the drill bit is compatible with the drill and designed for the type of work you want to do.
- Insert the drill bit into the drill chuck making sure that it fits correctly. Turn the drill chuck key clockwise to tighten and hold the drill bit securely, holding the back part of the drill chuck again. Make sure that the drill bit is securely fastened and has no movement or play.
- Check that all connections are secure and correctly assembled. Make sure that there are no loose or ill-fitting parts.
NOTE:
- The auxiliary handle can be repositioned according to the user's needs. This handle is designed to provide additional support and improve control during drill operation. Its adjustment capacity allows the users to adapt its position according to the specific task they are performing and their personal preference.
- It is important to note that the auxiliary handle is fixed in position by means of a fastening screw. This screw allows the handle to be firmly secured in the desired position, ensuring that it remains stable during the operation of the drill.
- Changing the auxiliary handle position can be useful for different situations. For example, when drilling at awkward angles or in tight spaces, adjusting the auxiliary handle can improve stability and make it easier to control the drill. In addition, by changing the position of the handle, users can better distribute the weight of the drill, which can reduce fatigue during prolonged use.
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Drill chuck maintenance: using worn or damaged drill bits would reduce the working efficiency and overload the motor. Always check the drill chuck and replace it if necessary.
- Maintenance of the fastening screws: always check that the fastening screws are tightened properly. If the screws loosen, they must be tightened immediately to avoid accidents.
- Maintenance of the carbon brush: the carbon brush of the motor is a consumable part. If the carbon brush becomes worn, the motor will not work properly, so keep it clean so that it can move freely in its holder.
-
Motor maintenance: before using a drill for a long period of time, the insulation resistance of the coils and the casing should be checked.
-
Metal or plastic: use a drill bit suitable for metal.
- Wood: use a drill bit suitable for wood. For small holes with a diameter of less than 6.5 mm it is advisable to choose metal drill bits.
- Drilling holes in a metal part: set the selector to the Drill (drill bit) position and insert a standard metal drill bit.
- Drilling holes in wood: select the appropriate drill bit for wood or metal, depending on the diameter of the hole to be drilled, and press the operating switch.
- Drilling holes in concrete, stone materials, etc.: set the selector to the Hammer position so that the drill chuck rotates and impacts the material.
Warning: if the drill chuck is inserted too deep, it could damage the collet and affect the drilling quality.
5. TROUBLESHOOTING
Below are some common situations that might arise during the use of the tool, along with possible solutions:
1. Problem: the drill does not switch on
Solution: check if the drill is correctly plugged into a power source and if there is power at the socket. Make sure the on/off trigger is in the correct position. If the problem persists, consult an authorised technician.
2. Problem: the drill bit loosens during use
Solution: check that the drill chuck is correctly tightened. Ensure that the drill chuck key is turned clockwise and the drill bit is securely clamped. If the problem persists, consult an authorised technician.
3. Problem: the drill does not drill efficiently
Solution: make sure you use the right drill bit for the material you are drilling. Check that the drill bit is sharp and in good condition. Apply constant and firm pressure during drilling. If the problem persists, you may need to use a higher quality drill bit or consult an authorised technician.
4. Problem: excessive vibration during use
Solution: check that the drill bit is correctly centred in the drill chuck. Make sure that the work surface is stable and secure. Avoid forcing the drill too hard while drilling. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to have the percussion system checked by an authorised technician.
5. Problem: noise or strange sounds during operation
Solution: check for foreign objects caught in the drill chuck or in the hammer mechanism. Make sure that all parts are correctly assembled and tightened. If the problem persists, stop using the drill and consult an authorised technician.
Remember that, in case of any doubt or problem with the drill, it is advisable to contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service or seek assistance from an authorised technician to ensure a proper and safe resolution.
