The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water. When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories. Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead). To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance. Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged. Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type. Use only original spare parts. Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instructions“.
Special Safety Measures for this Device
The machine becomes hot when in use. Pay particular attention to the hot top plates and the viewing window.
Remember that the hot surfaces remain hot a long time after operation. Place the machine on a heat-resistant base. Do not move the device when it is in operation. If the surface is damaged or cracked, the device should be switched off in order to prevent electric shock. Only touch the machine by using the handles and buttons provided.
First Use of the Machine
Before using for the first time leave the hot plates switched on for 5 minutes in order to remove the protective layer. This may lead to the development of small quantities of smoke. Ensure sufficient ventilation.
GB Electrical Connection
Ensure that the machine is switched off (all operating switches on „MIN“).
Before inserting the mains plug into the socket check whether the voltage which you intend to use corresponds to that of the machine. Please see the label on the machine for details. Only connect the machine to a correctly installed safety socket, 230 V/50 Hz. Adjust the temperature control to the desired temperature. The red control lamps light up. Once the set temperature has been reached the control lamps go off. During operation the control lamp goes on from time to time to show that the correct temperature is being maintained.
Use of the Hot Plates 1. Only use saucepans with a flat bottom in order to make optimum use of the energy (see diagram 1). 2. The saucepan should never be smaller than the hot plate. This wastes energy. In extreme cases the hot plate may deform.
3. Set the temperature control according to what you intend to do:
Level MIN: Off Level 1: Keeping warm/continued cooking Level 2: Continued cooking Level 3: Frying Level 4: Parboiling, gentle roasting Level MAX: Roasting, rapid heating Switching-Off The machine is switched off if all switches are in position „MIN“. Then remove the mains plug.
GB Make sure that the plug is pulled out.
Please wait until the hot plates have completely cooled down before you begin to clean them. You should always wait at least 30 minutes after using the hot plates in order to avoid burns. Please do not immerse the device in water. Clean the machine only with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents or solvents. Rinsing water is suitable.
This device has been tested according to all relevant current CE guidelines, such as electromagnetic compatibility and low voltage directives, and has been constructed in accordance with the latest safety regulations.
