3. Operation
Before first use
When using the iron for the first time, test it on an old piece of fabric to ensure that the soleplate and water tank are completely clean.
It is normal for it to emit a slight odour or smoke during the first use. This is normal and is due to the initial heating of the materials. It will disappear quickly.
When not ironing, ensure that the steam selection knob is in the closed position.
Anti-scale function
The tank incorporates a special resin filter that softens water and prevents limescale build-up on the soleplate. This filter is permanent and requires no replacement. It is recommended to use tap water only. The use of distilled or demineralised water may alter the anti-scale system properties, rendering it ineffective.
Avoid adding chemicals, aromatic essences, or descaling agents. Cecotec accepts no responsibility for non-compliance with these instructions.
Anti-drip function
The anti-drip system allows precise ironing of delicate fabrics.
It prevents water dripping from the soleplate during ironing, avoiding stains when the temperature is too low to generate steam.
Warning: Always check the garment care label before ironing. In the absence of a label, verify the fabric type to ensure proper ironing.
| Care label | Type of fabric | Temperature setting |
![]() | Synthetic-Nylon | · Low |
![]() | Silk-Wool | ·· Medium |
![]() | Cotton-Linen | ··· High |
![]() | Do not iron | |
To save time during heating, it is recommended to iron fabrics requiring lower temperature settings first. This also reduces the risk of burning the fabric.
Using the steam iron
- Place the steam iron in an upright position and insert the plug into the power socket.
- Select the desired temperature on the temperature control knob.
- The indicator light will turn on and, once the selected temperature is reached, it will turn off and you can start ironing.
- The indicator light will illuminate while the iron is heating up. Once the temperature is reached, it will turn off. It will turn on and off occasionally while ironing, as the thermostat automatically keeps the soleplate at the same temperature.
- Another important feature of your steam iron is the 180° swivel cord, which prevents tangles and allows for easy use by both right- and left-handed users.
ENGLISH
- The iron features an automatic shut-off function. If the user does not perform any operation within 30 seconds, the iron will automatically turn off and the LED light will flash once per second when it is off. When the iron shuts off automatically, if the user wishes to continue ironing, the user must shake the iron to reactivate it and continue ironing.
Choosing the right water
This steam iron can be used with normal tap water. However, if the water in your region is particularly hard, it is recommended to use distilled water to prolong the life of the iron. Do not use water that has been desalinated by chemical exchange.
Dry ironing
- Insert the plug into the mains socket.
- Ensure that the steam selection knob is in the closed position, dry ironing mode.

ENGLISH
on the label or in the temperature setting chart.
Tips for good ironing
- For fabrics with special treatments (such as decorative pieces, embroidery, etc.), use low temperature ironing.
- For blended fabrics (such as 40% cotton + 60% synthetics), adjust the temperature as needed and iron at low temperature.
- If you do not know the fabric composition, test on a hidden part of the garment to determine the appropriate ironing temperature.
- Start with a low temperature and gradually increase until the desired temperature is reached.
- Do not iron surfaces with sweat or other stains, as the heat from the soleplate will set the stains, and they cannot be removed. Dry ironing at medium temperature will maintain the size of the garment, while overheating can burn the garment and cause yellow stains.
- To prevent silk, wool or synthetic fabrics from becoming shiny when ironed, iron them inside out.
- To prevent the velvet from becoming shiny, iron it inside out and in the same direction (along the grain).
- The more clothes you put in the washer at one time, the more they will wrinkle. The more the drum rotates, the more likely it is to wrinkle.
- Many fabrics are easier to iron before they are completely dry. Silk, for example, should be ironed damp.
4. Cleaning and maintenance
Before cleaning the iron, always ensure that it is unplugged from the power socket and completely cool.
Soleplate
- Residues on the soleplate can be cleaned with a cloth soaked in a vinegar and water solution.
- Do not use scouring pads, abrasives or chemical cleaning solvents as they may damage the finish.
- Once the tank is full of water, turn the knob to the wash position to begin cleaning the soleplate and removing limescale. When the water in the tank runs out, the dial button returns to dry ironing mode, plug in and turn on the power, evaporate residual water stains on the bottom plate, turn off the power and wipe off the water.
Housing
- The housing can be cleaned with a damp cloth and then dried.
- Other than the recommended cleaning, no further maintenance by the user should be necessary. If for any reason your steam iron needs repairs, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Send it to Cecotec's Official Technical Support
Service.
Storage
- Disconnect the plug from the mains socket.
- Turn the iron upside down and shake gently to drain water.
- Allow the iron to cool completely.
● Wind the power cord loosely around the iron. -
Store the iron in an upright position.
