How to activate the ionic function?

The ionic function is activated automatically, regardless of the selector position. It eliminates static charge for easy and gentle styling.

How to change the accessories?

Turn off the device and let it cool down. Press and hold the unlock button on the housing, turn the accessory counterclockwise until the reference point aligns with the arrow, then remove it. To attach, align the point with the arrow, push and turn clockwise until it locks.

Can I use the hair dryer in the bathroom?

Yes, but with caution: do not use near a bathtub, shower, or washbasin. Always unplug after use. For extra safety, install a 30 mA residual current circuit breaker.

What should I do if the device turns off automatically during use?

This may be due to the overheat protection device. Allow the device to cool down sufficiently before using it again.

How to clean the hair dryer?

Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance.

This product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

Important safety instructions

Caution! Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath, shower or swimmingpool, over a washbasin

filled with water or any other receptacle containing water.

There is always a risk when the appliance is operated near water even when it is

switched off. Therefore, if the appliance is being used in a bathroom always remove the plug from the wall socket after use.

Additional protection is offered by fitting an earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30mA into your bathroom installation. Please consult a qualified electrician.
- Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.
This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age), and also by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
Caution: keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the housing. Burns can occur from touching the hot parts.
- Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-pieces or wigs. The heat emitted might cause damage to the synthetic fibres.
Make sure the air intake and outlet openings are not blocked by fingers or hair and that no lint particles are allowed to accumulate in the air intake.
Should the unit automatically switch off during use, the integral overheating protective device may have been activated. The appliance will switch on again after a sufficient cooling down period.
Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage

may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- To prevent damage to the power cord, - do not bend or kink the cable, especially where it leaves the housing, - do not pull on the cord, - do not coil the power cord around the appliance.
- Do not place the appliance on any surface sensitive to heat during or immediately after use.
- Do not operate the appliance if it is stored on the hanging loop.
Make sure hot attachments are kept away from the scalp.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket after use, and also

• during cleaning.

Models with IONIC function

The IONIC function facilitates gentle, easy hair

styling by preventing a static charge in the hair. It uses the build-up of a negative 'ion-cloud' to prevent 'flyaway' hair caused by a positive charge.

The IONIC function is automatically enabled during use, irrespective of the switch settings.

Operation

Switch positions

The appliance is equipped with a 3-position switch allowing for the following settings:

Functions:

0 = Off
1 = Half power
2 = Full power

For a cooler air-flow, press the cool-air button 'cool' and slide it forward.

Removing and changing the attachments

Always switch the appliance off and allow it to cool down to room temperature before changing or removing any attachments.

• To remove any attachment, press and hold the release button on the housing, rotate the attachment anti-clockwise until the dot mark is aligned with the arrow symbol on the housing, and pull it off from the front.
• To fit any attachment, follow the same steps in reverse order while applying only light pressure, making sure the dot mark is aligned with the arrow symbol. Lock the attachment in place by turning it clockwise until both arrow symbols are aligned.
• Without any attachment fitted, the appliance can be used as a hair dryer.

Use

The round brush is designed for shaping the hair. To achieve this, the hair should be divided into single strands (not too thick) and then spread evenly over the brush, turning them inwards or outwards as desired.
Apply for a few seconds at a time only, while letting the hot air take effect on the

hair. Let the strands uncurl afterwards.

• Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.

Round-brush with retractable bristles

As the hot air heats up the tube-shaped metal cylinder, the heat emitted has a direct effect on the hair. The retractable brush is used in the same way as the round brush. The bristles can be retracted by moving the slide switch on the attachment anti-clockwise.

Note:

To ensure the best function in the longer term, the round-brush should be used on setting 1 only.

Brush with mixed bristles

As the hot air heats up the tube-shaped metal cylinder, the heat emitted has a direct effect on the hair. The brush with mixed bristles is used in the same way as the round brush.

Styling nozzle

The styling nozzle is designed to dry and shape single hair strands wound around a curler or the round brush. It can also be used with clamps to shape or set the hair.

Hail curler function

With the curling-attachment fitted, the appliance can be used as a hair curler.

Make sure the curling-attachment is used on dry hair only - it is not intended for styling wet hair.

• Divide the hair into separate strands.
  Take up a strand with the clamp and curl it up to the hairline. Leave the hair curled up for a few seconds.
• Open the clamp, hold the curl and remove

the curler gently from the hair by turning it.
- Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.

General cleaning and care

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
If necessary, the housing may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
After use, remove loose hair from the attachment used.
Always check the air intake openings for accumulated lint particles or hair and remove any found.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.
