How to activate the ionic function?

The ionic function is activated automatically as soon as the hair dryer is turned on, regardless of the selector positions. It emits a cloud of negative ions to eliminate static electricity and facilitate styling.

What is the cold air button for?

The cold air button releases a cooler air flow during drying. It helps to set the hairstyle by fixing the hair in place.

What to do if the hair dryer stops suddenly?

This may be due to blockage of the air grilles or overheating. Unplug the device, let it cool down, then remove any accumulation of hair or particles on the air intake grille. Make sure the grilles are clear before turning it back on.

Can I use the hair dryer in the bathroom?

Yes, but with caution. Never use it near a bathtub, shower, sink, or any container with water. Even when turned off, unplug it after use in the bathroom to avoid any risk of electric shock. For additional protection, a 30 mA residual current device is recommended.

How to clean the hair dryer?

Unplug the device and let it cool completely. Clean the casing with a dry, lint-free cloth. The air intake grille can be removed to take out accumulated hair. Never immerse the device in water or use any liquid.

Can I use the concentrator nozzle on all settings?

Yes, the concentrator nozzle can be attached to the air outlet regardless of speed or temperature setting. It focuses the air flow for more precise drying.

What to do if the power cord is damaged?

Do not use the appliance. Cord replacement must be carried out by a qualified professional or authorized service center. Contact Severin after-sales service for repair.

Does the device get very hot?

Yes, the hair dryer operates at very high temperature. Only touch the handle during use. Avoid placing it on heat-sensitive surfaces and do not use it on synthetic wigs.

What accessories are included with the HT 6012?

The hair dryer comes with a professional concentrator nozzle. The air intake grille is removable for cleaning. No other accessories are included.

How to benefit from the warranty?

The warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase. It covers material and manufacturing defects. To activate it, keep your receipt or invoice. In case of a problem, contact an authorized Severin service center. Normal wear and tear or misuse are not covered.

Before using the appliance, the user should read the following instructions carefully.

Connection to the mains supply

The hair dryer should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations.

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the hair dryer.

This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

• Caution: do not use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming-pool, over a washbasin filled

with water or near any other receptacle containing water.

Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.

• In the vicinity of any water source, there is a risk even when the appliance is switched off. Therefore, always remove the plug from the wall socket after use, especially if the appliance is being used in a bathroom.

Additional protection is available by fitting an earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30mA into your bathroom

installation. Please consult a qualified electrician.

Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the grip. Otherwise there is a real risk of burning.
- Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-pieces or wigs, as the heat emitted might cause damage to the synthetic fibres.
- Make sure the air intake and outlet openings are not blocked (e.g. by fingers or hair), and that no fluff or fibre particles are allowed to accumulate in the air intake.
A blockage in the air-flow system may cause the integral thermal safety cut-out to switch off the appliance. Should this occur, immediately disconnect the appliance from the mains power and allow sufficient time for it to cool down before the blockage is removed and the appliance is switched on again.
- Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
- To prevent damage to the power cord, - do not bend or kink the cable, especially where it leaves the housing, - do not pull on the cord, - do not coil the power cord around the appliance.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket after use, as well as - in cases of malfunction, and - during cleaning.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
- Do not place the appliance on any

surfaces sensitive to heat during or immediately after use.

Dryer models with IONIC function

The IONIC function facilitates gentle, easy hair styling by preventing a static charge in the hair. It uses the build-up of a negative 'ion-cloud' to prevent 'flyaway' hair caused by a positive charge.

The IONIC function is automatically enabled during use, irrespective of the switch settings.

Styling nozzle

The styling nozzle can be fitted to the air outlet to facilitate shaping the hair during blow drying.

Air-flow and temperature controls

By using different combinations of the airflow and temperature controls, various settings are possible when drying the hair.

The air-flow control regulates the air-flow

intensity, while the temperature control regulates the heat of the air-flow.

With the air-flow control set to the 0^ position, the hair-dryer is switched off.

Cool function

The cool function can be used at any time during the drying process. It will supply cooler air, which helps firming and shaping the hair.

Operation

Connect the hair dryer to a suitable wall socket and select the desired power setting with the switches integrated in the handle.

Cleaning and care

• Before cleaning the hair dryer, remove the plug from the wall socket and let the appliance cool down completely.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the hair dryer with water nor immerse it in water.
• If necessary, the housing of the hair dryer may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
• The air intake grill can be removed to facilitate cleaning the insert of any accumulated lint particles or hair. After cleaning, put the insert back into the intake grill and replace the grill on the air intake.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the

instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return.
