Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance.

This product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

Important safety instructions

Caution! Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath, shower or swimmingpool, over a washbasin filled with water or any other containing water.

There is always a risk when the appliance is operated near water even when it is switched off. Therefore, if the appliance is being used in a bathroom always remove

the plug from the wall socket after use.

Additional protection is offered by fitting an earth-leakage circuit-breaker with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30mA into your bathroom installation. Please consult a qualified electrician.
- Protect the appliance from moisture and splashing water and do not operate it with wet hands.

Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
Caution: keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
Electric heating appliances operate at very high temperatures. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the housing. Burns can occur from touching the hot parts.
- Do not use the appliance on synthetic hair-pieces or wigs. The heat emitted might cause damage to the synthetic fibres.
Make sure the air intake and outlet openings are not blocked by fingers or hair and that no lint particles are allowed to accumulate in the air intake.
Should the unit automatically switch off during use, the integral overheating protective device may have been activated. The appliance will switch on again after a sufficient cooling down period.
Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- To prevent damage to the power cord, - do not bend or kink the cable, especially where it leaves the housing, - do not pull on the cord, - do not coil the power cord around the appliance.
- Do not place the appliance on any surface sensitive to heat during or immediately after use.
- Do not operate the appliance if it is stored on the hanging loop.
Make sure hot attachments are kept away from the scalp.
- When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket after use, and also

• during cleaning.

The IONIC function

The IONIC function facilitates gentle, easy hair styling by preventing a static charge in the hair. It uses the build-up of a negative 'ion-cloud'

to prevent 'flyaway' hair caused by a positive charge.

The IONIC function is automatically enabled during use, irrespective of the switch settings.

Operation

The appliance is equipped with a 3-position switch allowing for the following settings:

For a cooler air-flow, press the cool-air button 'cool' and slide it forward.

Removing and changing the attachments

Always switch the appliance off and allow it to cool down to room temperature before changing or removing any attachments.

• To remove an attachment, press and hold the release button on the housing, turn the attachment to the right and pull it off from the front.
• When fitting any attachment, apply only light pressure, making sure the triangular mark on the attachment is aligned with the identical mark on the housing. Then turn the attachment to the left until it locks into place.

Use

Round brush

The round brush is designed for shaping the hair. To achieve this, the hair should be divided into single strands (not too thick) and then spread evenly over the brush, turning them inwards or outwards as desired.
- Apply for a few seconds at a time only, while letting the hot air take effect on the hair. Let the strands uncurl afterwards.
- Allow the hair to cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.

Round-brush with retractable bristles

As the hot air heats up the tube-shaped metal cylinder, the heat emitted has a direct effect on the hair. The retractable brush is used in the same way as the round brush. The bristles can be retracted by moving the slide switch on the attachment to the right.

General cleaning and care

Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
- If necessary, the housing may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
After use, remove loose hair from the attachment used.
Always check the air intake openings for accumulated lint particles or hair and remove any found.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned
