Frequently Asked Questions - NEB 900 MICROLIFE

How to clean the Microlife NEB 900 inhaler?
After each use, disassemble the reservoir, mouthpiece, and mask. Wash these parts with warm soapy water, rinse, and air dry. Once a week, disinfect them by boiling for 5 minutes or using a suitable disinfectant solution. The air filter should be replaced every 3 months.
What medications can I use with the NEB 900?
Use only medications prescribed by your doctor for nebulization, such as bronchodilators, corticosteroids, or antibiotics in solution. Do not mix multiple medications without medical advice. Respect the indicated doses.
Can the inhaler be used for a child?
Yes, the NEB 900 is suitable for children aged 3 and up. The included child mask allows easier administration. Ensure the child remains calm during the session. For infants, consult your doctor.
How long does a nebulization session last?
The duration depends on the volume of medication and the flow rate. Generally, with 2-3 ml of solution, the session lasts about 10 to 15 minutes. The device automatically stops when the reservoir is empty.
What to do if little vapor comes out of the mouthpiece?
Check that the tube is not bent or blocked. Ensure that the air filter is not clogged (replace if necessary). Check that the reservoir is properly closed. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How to replace the air filter?
The filter is located in the compartment under the device. Open the cover, remove the used filter, and insert a new white filter (ref. Microlife). Refer to the manual for the diagram. Replace every 3 months or more often in dusty environments.
The device turns off by itself during use. Is this normal?
Yes, it is a safety feature: the inhaler automatically stops after 30 minutes of continuous operation or in case of overheating. Let it cool for 10 minutes before restarting. If the problem recurs, check the air intakes and filter.
Can I use the NEB 900 with essential oils?
No, this device is designed only for prescribed aqueous medications. Essential oils can damage the nebulizer and are not recommended. Use a specific diffuser.
Where to find spare parts?
Spare parts (reservoir, tube, mouthpieces, masks, filters) are available on the Microlife website or from authorized retailers. Always use original parts to ensure safety and effectiveness.
How to know if the inhaler is working properly?
Turn on the device, place your hand in front of the mouthpiece: you should feel a steady airflow. With distilled water in the reservoir, a fine mist should form. An abnormal noise or lack of vapor indicates a malfunction.
