* This appliance must be plugged into a grounded electrical outlet. Any connection error will void the warranty.
* Never immerse the device, the cord or the base in water or in any other fluid. No water should penetrate into the base of the appliance.
* Never use the appliance when your hands or feet are wet.
* Do not expose the product to high temperatures or direct sunlight. Protect it from moisture, dust or any corrosive substances.

* If your appliance has been damaged, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Any unauthorised modifications or repairs of the appliance will void the warranty.
* To ensure your safety, use only LAGRANGE accessories and spare parts that are suitable for your appliance.

* This appliance is exclusively intended for domestic use. Commercial or any other use is prohibited. The manufacturer declines any liability should this principle not be observed.

In order to protect our environment and our health, electrical units at the end of their working lives must be disposed of according to very specific rules requiring the involvement of everyone, both suppliers and users.

That is why your unit, as indicated by the symbol on its nameplate, must not be put into a public or private garbage can intended for household wastes.
At the time of its disposal, it is your responsibility to bring your unit to a public collection center designated for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. If you need information about centers for the collection and recycling of discarded units, please contact the local authorities in your region, the household waste collection services or the store where you bought your unit.
STARTING AND USE
AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
Automatic shut-off mechanism: If no button is pressed for 40 minutes, the coffee maker will shut off automatically. This mechanism turns off the power supply, cutting off the operation of the heating circuit. Nevertheless, the control panel and the programming mode remain activated. The coffee maker will restart automatically when the programmed time is reached.
BEFORE FIRST USE
For optimum coffee flavour, before the first use:
* Fill the reservoir of the appliance with water to the maximum level (12).
* Switch on the appliance as described in the section «Using the appliance».
* Run the coffee maker through a complete cycle using fresh water (without coffee).
* After all the water has passed through, turn off the coffee maker and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
* Flush out the water, and repeat the procedure after filling the reservoir with fresh water.
* Your appliance is now ready to use.
USING THE APPLIANCE
* Open the cover of the appliance.
* Fill the reservoir with fresh water to the desired level by observing the specified levels (minimum 2 cups and maximum 12 cups). You can fill the reservoir using the carafe.
* Add the coffee into the permanent nylon filter or into a 1x4 paper filter.
* Close the lid and make sure it is firmly closed.
* Place the carafe on the heating plate.
* Power up the appliance by connecting the power plug. You will hear a «beep», and the display will light up in blue showing a flashing «00 00».
* Press the ON/OFF button to operate the appliance. The «00 00» display stops flashing.
* You can now either directly start preparing coffee by pressing again on the ON/OFF button, or set the clock by following the procedure described in the section «Setting the clock».
* When coffee preparation starts, the appliance beeps twice, and the display shows a 🎨 icon.
* You can stop this process at any time by pressing again on the ON/OFF appliance button. In this case, the appliance beeps twice and the 📋 icon disappears.
* After coffee-making has ended, your coffee will be kept warm in the carafe for 40 minutes by the heating plate of the appliance.
* Your coffee maker is equipped with a drip-stop system that allows you to remove the carafe at any time, even if coffee dispensing has not ended. Make sure to replace the carafe quickly to prevent the filter holder from overflowing.
* Wait for 5 minutes before preparing coffee again, to allow the appliance to cool.
* The «calc» notification will appear on the digital display when your coffee maker has accomplished 200 coffee cycles. This indication means that you have to clean your appliance in order to keep using it. The «calc» notification will disappear when pressing one of the coffee maker buttons and you will be able to use your appliance again.
SETTING THE CLOCK
* Power up the appliance by connecting the power plug. You will hear a «beep», and the display will light up in blue showing a flashing «00 00».
* Press the ON/OFF button to operate the appliance. The «00 00» display stops flashing.
* Press the «h» or «MIN» button to enter the time-setting mode. The display will show a flashing «00:00».
* Press the «h» or «MIN» button to set the clock. To move forward fast, keep the «h» or «MIN» button depressed.
* Now press the ON/OFF button to start coffee preparation. The appliance will emit a beep-beep sound and the 📋 icon will be displayed.
Note: By default, without setting the clock in advance, the display will show «00 00».
SETTING DELAYED BREWING
* After setting the clock, you can programme your delayed brewing start. Please note that the «Delayed start» feature cannot be activated if the clock time has not been set.
* To proceed, press the «Prog» button. The display will show «00:00» and a flashing ⏻ icon will appear.
* Select the time when you want your coffee maker to start brewing.
* After a few seconds, the display will show the current time and a clock icon indicating that a delayed start has been programmed.
* When the delayed start is activated, the appliance beeps twice, the display lights up, the ⬤ icon disappears and the 📋 icon is displayed.
UPKEEP
* When cleaning the appliance, always make sure to disconnect the power plug. Allow the appliance to cool before washing it. Do not place the base, the cord or the plug into water.
* Clean the coffee maker and the base using a damp cloth. If the coffee maker is particularly dirty, a small amount of detergent may be added.
* Do not use scouring pads, steel wool or any type of strong solvents or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance. They may damage its external surfaces.
* Remove the carafe, the filter holder and the permanent filter, and clean them in water to which dishwashing liquid was added. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
* These parts can also be cleaned in a dishwasher.
* IMPORTANT! Allow the appliance to dry completely after cleaning and before reusing it. Do not use the appliance if the base or the underside of the appliance is wet.
* Make sure that the appliance is clean and dry before storing it.
SCALE REMOVAL
* Descale your coffee-maker regularly (approximately every 40 cycles).
* Fill the reservoir of the appliance with white spirit vinegar to the maximum level (12).
* Switch on the appliance as described in the section «Using the appliance».
* Run the coffee maker for a complete cycle (without coffee).
* After all the vinegar has passed through, turn off the coffee maker and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
* Flush out the vinegar and start two rinsing cycles with clear water and without ground coffee. To do this, follow the instructions in the section «Before first use».
* Your appliance is now ready to use.
Note: You can also use a descaler for coffee machines by following the manufacturer's instructions.
Please note! The warranty does not cover non-functioning or malfunctioning coffee machines due to non-performance of descaling.
TROUBLESHOOTING
In case of problems, check the following:
* Power connection
* Main switch is in ON position
* Cover is properly locked in.
If flow time is too long, or if the coffee machine makes too much noise, descale your coffee machine.
GUARANTEE TERMS
Guarantee for LAGRANGE household appliances
Your unit is guaranteed for 2 years.
In order to receive an additional year of guarantee free of charge, register on the LAGRANGE web site (www.lagrange.fr).
The guarantee includes parts and labor and covers manufacturing defects.
The guarantee does not cover: deterioration due to poor use or non-observance of the instructions for use or breakage due to falling.
THIS GUARANTEE APPLIES FOR DOMESTIC USES ONLY, IT CANNOT APPLY TO PROFESSIONAL OR SEMI-PROFESSIONAL USES.
The legal guarantee due from the seller does not in any way exclude the legal guarantee due from the Manufacturer for manufacturing flaws or defects according to articles 1641 to 1649 of the Civil Code. In the event of a breakdown or malfunction, contact your retailer.
In the event of technical defects observed within one week of purchase, the units will be exchanged. Beyond this period, they will be repaired by the LAGRANGE after-sale service.
In order to benefit from this guarantee, the user must present a copy of the invoice that specifies the date of purchase of the unit.
Duration of availability of spare parts
In accordance with article L 111-2 of the consumer code, the availability of spare parts that we provide for a repairable product is 5 years as of its date of manufacturing.
However, this availability is only guaranteed in the country where the product is purchased.
Shipping costs for returns
After the first year during which you benefit from the dealer's guarantee, you need only pay the shipping costs for the return to the factory. The reshipping will be done at our expense and as quickly as possible.
