How do I set the time on the Blaupunkt ER10?

To set the time, press and hold the Time button for 3 seconds until the hour digits flash. Use the +/- buttons to adjust hours, then press Time again to set minutes. Press Time once more to save.

How can I scan for radio stations?

Press the Auto Scan button to start scanning. The radio will search the current band and store found stations into presets automatically. You can also manually tune using the +/- buttons.

How do I switch between FM and AM bands?

Press the Band button to toggle between FM and AM. The display will show the current band. You can then scan or manually tune stations.

How do I use the alarm function?

Press the Alarm button once to set alarm hour, then use +/- to adjust. Press Alarm again to set minutes. Select alarm mode (radio or buzzer) by repeatedly pressing Alarm; the icon changes. Press Alarm to confirm. The alarm icon appears when active.

How can I improve FM reception?

Extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle. For better reception, move the radio away from electronic devices and metal objects. If using indoors, try near a window.

What type of batteries does the ER10 use, and how long do they last?

The radio requires three AA batteries (not included). With moderate volume, battery life is approximately 20 hours. Using alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries is recommended.

How do I clean the Blaupunkt ER10?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. For the display, gently wipe with a microfiber cloth.

How do I reset the radio to factory settings?

Press and hold the Band and Time buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. The display will show 'RESET' and all presets and settings will be cleared.

Can I power the radio via USB?

Yes, the ER10 has a USB-C port for power. You can use a standard 5V USB power adapter or a power bank. Note that USB is only for powering, not for data or audio.

Does the ER10 have an auxiliary input for external devices?

Yes, there is a 3.5mm AUX IN jack on the side. You can connect a smartphone, MP3 player, or other audio source using a standard audio cable.

Multi-functional emergency radio

Important Notes

13. Battery

c. Battery usage CAUTION - to prevent battery leakage which may result in body injuries, property damage, or damage to the apparatus:

Install all batteries correctly, + and - as marked on the apparatus.

Battery power and charging the radio

The unit has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. Before operating the radio, you can choose one of the following methods to charge the battery first.

USB power charging (DC IN 5V/1A): Open the rubber cap on the right side of the radio. Use the supplied USB to Type-C power cable to connect the Type-C port of the unit to a USB charger (USB adaptor or USB output port like on a PC, USB rating output: DC5V, max 2A, other USB chargers with current between 1-2A). Then plug your USB charger into household AC power. The battery level LED indicator will flash in blue, and turns to solid blue when fully charged. The battery charging time is about 4-5 hours based on 5V/1A input.

Hand crank charging: Pull out the crank, shake and rotate the hand joystick in clockwise or counterclockwise direction to generate electricity and charge the battery. The battery charging LED indicator will light up in blue during charging. Continue to shake the hand crank for 3-5 minutes (total equal or above 360 rounds), the generated power can support around 30 minutes of radio playback at middle volume level, or 30-40 minutes of flashlight illumination. The illuminated brightness may become weak slowly due to battery power close to drain; you can choose to do hand crank charging and illumination at the same time. Solar panel charging: The built-in battery can be charged from the solar panel when you place the unit under direct sunlight; the battery charging LED will light up in blue during charging. Please remember to peel off the protective film from the solar panel before charging. Depending on the weather, the battery will be full after around 60 hours of continuous charging based on solar atmospheric mass AM1.5, light intensity 1000W/m2, temperature 25°C.

Battery power level: You can reference the battery level LED indicator to understand the battery power status. There may not be accurate feedback of the power status due to the virtual power property of the battery. It is approximate data only.

Notes:

a. When the battery power is low, the battery level LED indicator will flash; and the unit will power off automatically after a while. Please recharge the unit for use.

b. When the battery power is extremely low (like cannot power on the unit), the battery charging indicator may not light up during solar panel charging. You have to charge the unit by hand crank or USB charger first in order to activate the battery.

c. We suggest charging the unit by hand crank or solar panel when there is no electricity. d. Due to prolonged charging and discharging, the battery life will be affected, and the playback time will naturally shorten. This is not covered by our warranty and service.

Radio operation

Before listening to the radio, please fully extend the antenna and try moving the unit near a window to receive a better signal. Rotate the volume knob to power on the unit and adjust the output volume level. Push the AM/FM selector to choose the radio band, then rotate the tuning knob slowly to adjust the radio frequency. You can then receive radio broadcasts. Rotate the volume knob counterclockwise to the end to turn off the unit. The operation for AM radio is similar to FM.

Notes: The radio may pick up some interference background noises while charging or discharging, which is normal and not a malfunction. You can choose and switch to a strong signal station for listening.

Flashlight and reading light: Long press the flashlight button to turn on the light. Short press it repeatedly to switch between high beam, low beam, far and low beam, flashing light, and off. Push the reading light open-up button to unfold the solar panel, which will turn on the LED light automatically. Fully folding the solar panel will turn off the reading light. The illuminated brightness may gradually weaken when the battery power is nearly drained. Note: Be careful not to let the LED light shine directly into your eyes to avoid injury.

Charging external devices (power bank): Use your device's USB cable to connect the USB charge-out port to your device, and the unit will charge the device automatically. The USB charging rating is 5V/1A. We do not guarantee that all USB devices can be charged due to different designs and brands. The device may not be chargeable when the battery level is below 25% due to low voltage and battery protection.

SOS alarm: Long press (3 seconds) the SOS button to turn on the alarm voice and flashing light simultaneously for emergencies. Short press it again to turn off.

Troubleshooting

1. The radio cannot turn on: a. Please check and try turning the volume knob to power on the unit. b. Please recharge the unit in case of low battery power.
2. Background noise on radio station.

a. Please try adjusting the direction of the antenna for better reception. b. Please try adjusting and tuning the radio frequency slowly.
