How to activate Audyssey MultEQ auto setup?
Connect the supplied microphone to the SETUP MIC jack on the front, place it at ear level at the main listening position, then press A.MENU and select Auto Setup - Start Menu. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Can I connect an iPod?
Yes, via an optional DENON dock (ASD-1R, ASD-3N or ASD-3W). Connect it to the VCR (iPod) terminal (default) or reassign the input in the Input Setup - Assign - iPod dock menu.
What is the output power?
100 W per channel into 8 ohms (20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% THD) for 7 channels, or 135 W into 6 ohms (1 kHz, 0.7% THD).
How to reset the microprocessor?
Hold down the POWER button on the unit while pressing ON/STANDBY. The display shows 'Initialized'. All settings return to factory defaults.
What HDMI audio formats are supported?
The AVR-2309 accepts linear PCM (2 to 8 channels, 32-192 kHz), Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution.
Can I use 4 ohm speakers?
No, the minimum recommended impedance is 6 ohms. Using 4 ohm speakers may trigger the protection circuit (flashing red indicator).
How to adjust speaker distance?
Go to Manual Setup - Speaker Setup - Distance. Measure the actual distance between each speaker and the listening position, then enter the value (up to 18 m).
What to do if the sound is cut off or there is noise?
First check the speaker and source connections. Make sure the MUTING mode is not activated. If the problem persists, reset the microprocessor (see FAQ).
How to listen to HDMI source sound on the TV?
In the Manual Setup - HDMI Setup menu, set HDMI Audio Out to TV. The sound will then be output through the TV speakers.
Is it possible to use the multi-zone function?
Yes, the AVR-2309 has a ZONE2 output. To activate it, set Amp Assign to ZONE2 in Manual Setup - Option Setup. Connect an external amplifier to the ZONE2 terminals or use the internal amplification (by reassigning the surround back channels).
