They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal.
Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use.
Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
Intended use
This product is only intended to weigh normal household quantities of foodstuffs. The product is intended for indoor use only. It is not intended for commercial or industrial use. Any other use not mentioned in these instructions may cause a damage to the product or create a serious risk of injury.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by improper use.
- Scope of delivery
After unpacking the product, check if the delivery is complete and if all parts are in good condition. Remove all packing materials before use.

Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use! When passing this product on to others, also include all the documents! In the case of damage resulting from non-compliance with this instruction manual the warranty claim becomes invalid! No liability is accepted for consequential damage! In the case of material damage or personal injury caused by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions, no liability is accepted!

⚠ WARNING!
DANGER OF DEATH AND ACCIDENTS FOR TODDLERS AND
CHILDREN! Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. The packaging material represents a danger of suffocation. Children frequently underestimate the dangers. Always keep children away from the packaging material.
This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
This product has delicate electronic components. This means that if it is placed near an object that transmits radio signals, it could cause interference. This could be, for example, mobile telephones, walkie talkies, CB radios, remote controls and microwaves. If the display indicates a problem, move such objects away from it.
Electromagnetic interference / high frequency emissions can lead to the product failing. In cases of the product failing to work, remove the battery for a short while and then replace it. Do this as described in the "Changing the battery" chapter.
⚠️ CAUTION! Do not fill hot liquids / foods into the measuring jug. The measuring jug could become damaged.
- Do not short-circuit the terminals.
Information on cleaning product surface that are coming in contact with foodstuff can be found in the “Cleaning and care” chapter.
● Safety instructions for batteries / rechargeable batteries
DANGER TO LIFE!
Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
■ Swallowing may lead to burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion.

DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
Never recharge non- rechargeable batteries.
Do not short-circuit batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result.
■ Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water.
■ Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable batteries.
Notes for coin / button cell batteries
⚠ WARNING! Do not ingest the battery, chemical burn hazard.

The product
contains a coin / button cell battery. If the coin / button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death.
- Keep new and used batteries away from children.
If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries
■ Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight.
If batteries / rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention!

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES!
Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.
In the event of a leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries, immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage.
■ Remove batteries / rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for a longer period.
Risk of damage of the product
■ Only use the specified type of battery / rechargeable battery! ■ Insert batteries / rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and (−) on the battery / rechargeable battery and the product.
Use a dry lint-free cloth or cotton swab to clean the contacts on the battery / rechargeable battery and in the battery compartment before inserting!
■ Remove exhausted batteries / rechargeable batteries from the product immediately.

Unpacking
■ Remove the packaging. Check if all parts are complete.
- Clean the product before first use (see "Cleaning and care"). Dry all parts thoroughly.
Operation
NOTE: Always use the measuring jug 1 together with the weighing unit 3. Only lift up the measuring jug 1 before cleaning the weighing unit 3.
- Removing the insulation strip
A button cell is already pre-installed in the battery compartment 8 at the time of delivery. The button cell is protected against an early discharge by an insulation strip. Proceed as follows to remove the insulation strip (see Fig. C):
■ Loosen the screw of the battery compartment cover 8, using a screwdriver.
■ Remove the battery compartment cover 8.
■ Remove the insulation strip between the battery and the contact.
■ Reattach the battery compartment cover 8.
- Secure the battery compartment cover 8 with the previously loosened screw.
- Positioning
Place the product on a horizontal, level and stable surface.
- Switching on/off
Switching the product on: Briefly press the on/off switch ⏻/Z 6. The LC display 4 will light all its segments for about 2 seconds. After this, 0 g, 0 : 00.00 lb:oz or 0.00 oz is displayed.
■ Switching the product off:
Press and hold the on/off switch ⏻/Z 6 for about 2 seconds. The LC display 4 will turn off then.
If no activity is detected and no button is pressed for 2 minutes, the product switches off automatically.
Mode selection
The product has 5 different modes. One mode is used to determine the weight. The other 4 modes are used to determine the volume of oil, flour, water and milk.
Press the M button 7 to select the desired mode. In normal weighing mode, there is no triangular arrow shown on the LC display 4. For the other 4 modes, a triangular arrow points to Water, Milk, Oil or Flour.
● Toggling between weighing units
■ Press the U button 5 to toggle to another weighing unit.
In normal weighing mode, you can choose between grams (g), pounds:ounces (lb:oz) and ounces (oz).
You can choose between millilitres (ml), fluid ounces (fl'oz) and cups (CUP) in the modes for determining the volume.
i NOTES:
If you select gram (g) in normal weighing mode, fluid ounces (fl'oz) cannot be displayed in volume mode.
If you select pounds:ounces (lb:oz) or ounces (oz) in normal weighing mode, millilitres (ml) cannot be displayed in volume mode.
The volume of flour can only be expressed in cups (CUP).
Tare function/Reset
NOTE: The letter Z on the on/off switch ⏻/Z 6 stands for "Zero" and indicates the tare function.
Briefly press the on/off switch ⏻/Z 6.
The LC display 4 shows 4 horizontal lines for a short moment. The value 0 is then displayed.
If the foodstuff have been already placed in the measuring jug 1, the LC display 4 will still read 0.
Place the item you wish to weigh in the measuring jug 1. The LC display 4 will show the weight of the item you are weighing.
- Pressing the on/off switch ⏻/Z 6 will change the LC display 4 from the reading to "O". The letter T will appear in the lower left corner of the LC display 4.
To display the weight of the foodstuff item again, briefly press the on/off switch ⏻/Z 6 again. The letter T goes off and the reading will change back to the total weight of the foodstuff.
If you remove the foodstuff item after using the tare function, a negative value is displayed. Briefly press the on/off switch ⏻/Z 6 to reset the scale to 0.
When removing the foodstuff: Hold the measuring jug 1 with your hand to prevent it from falling out.
⚠️ CAUTION! Do not – especially when using the tare function – exceed the maximum permitted weighing value. Otherwise, the product may be damaged.
● Changing the battery
Replace the battery as soon as "Lo" is displayed or if the product cannot be switched on anymore.
■ Loosen the screw of the battery compartment cover 8, using a screwdriver.
■ Remove the battery compartment cover 8.
■ Remove the used button cell.
- Insert a new CR2032 button cell. The positive pole (+) must point outwards.
- Replace the battery compartment cover 8.
- Secure the battery compartment cover 8 with the previously loosened screw.
● Measuring jug scale
Using both scales on the measuring jug 1, the approximate amount of cups or the volume in millilitres (ml) and fluid ounces (fl'oz) can be read without switching the product on.

Troubleshooting
If "Err" is displayed instead of a measured value, the maximum permitted weighing range has been exceeded. In this case, immediately remove the foodstuff items from the measuring jug 1. Separate the foodstuff into several portions and then weigh the portions individually.
● Cleaning and care
■ For hygienic reasons, clean the product after each use.
⚠ WARNING! Do not immerse the electrical parts of the weighing unit 3 in water or other liquids. Never hold it under running water.

- Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.
■ Let all parts dry afterwards.
Storage
- When not in use, store the product in its original packaging.
■ Store the product in a dry, secure location away from children.

Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics / 20–22: paper and fibreboard / 80–98: composite materials.

The product and packaging materials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment. The Triman logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.
Faulty or used batteries / rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or the product to the available collection points.

Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries / rechargeable batteries!
Batteries / rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries / rechargeable batteries at a local collection point.
Warranty
The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.
The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase.
Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.
The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts.

Please have the till receipt and the item number (IAN 384110_2107) available as proof of purchase.
You will find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving, on the front page of the instructions for use (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.
You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
