How to configure the TP-Link CPE220 access point?

Connect the device to your computer via Ethernet, access the web interface (192.168.1.1), log in (admin/admin), then follow the quick setup wizard. Choose Access Point or Bridge mode according to your need.

Does the CPE220 support PoE?

Yes, it uses passive 24 V PoE. A PoE injector is included in the box. Do not use a standard 48 V PoE switch.

What is the maximum speed of the CPE220?

The theoretical maximum speed is 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, but in practice it is around 100-150 Mbps due to the limitations of the 10/100 Ethernet port.

Can I use the CPE220 outdoors?

Yes, the device has an IP65 certification, protecting it against dust and water jets. It can operate from -30 °C to 70 °C.

How to reset the CPE220 to factory settings?

Press and hold the Reset button (on the back) for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash. The device will reboot with default settings.

Can the CPE220 act as a repeater?

Yes, it can work in Repeater (or WDS) mode. You must select this mode in the management interface and associate the device with a base station.

What is the maximum coverage distance?

With its 10 dBi directional antenna, the CPE220 can cover up to 1 km in line-of-sight in a point-to-point scenario. Performance depends on the environment.

How to install the CPE220 on a pole?

Use the included mounting bracket. Securely attach the bracket to the pole, then screw the device onto it. Orient the antenna toward the target station. Tighten the bolts to prevent movement.

What to do if the device does not power on?

Check that the PoE injector is plugged in and the Ethernet cable is properly connected. Try another outlet. If the problem persists, contact TP-Link support.

How to update the firmware of the CPE220?

Download the latest firmware from the TP-Link website. Log in to the web interface, go to System Tools > Firmware Upgrade, select the file and click 'Upgrade'. Do not power off during the update.

Some APs can be powered via the PSE device (such as a PoE switch) which complies with Power Source Class 2 (PS2) or Limited Power Source (LPS) of IEC 62368-1.

1 Choose a method to mount the device

■ Mounting the Device on a Pole

At the selected site, attach the device to a suitable point of the pole and then approximately align the device to the direction that you have oriented.

■ Mounting the Device on the Wall (for the product with mounting brackets)

Mount the mounting bracket to the preferred position in the wall Push and slide the device to lock it into place Then connect the antennas to the device

2 Install the waterproof seal (For certain devices)

Before installing, fit the Ethernet cable through the spiral cover, bracket, and O-ring Then follow the steps as shown in the picture:

(1) Connect the Ethernet cable to the port
(2) Fit the O-Ring to the head of the bracket, and screw the bracket to the body of the device.
(3) Fit the Ethernet cable through the seal's slit with the thicker side towards the bracket
(4) Plug the seal to the bracket
(5) Screw the spiral cover to the bracket
