How to fill the Clatronic PSM 3004 N mill?

Unscrew the upper part (or cap) of the mill. Pour salt or peppercorns into the transparent container. Then screw the upper part back on. Be careful not to overfill to avoid blockages.

How to adjust the grind on the PSM 3004 N?

Turn the wheel located under the mill. A left setting gives a finer grind, a right setting a coarser grind. Test on a small sample to adjust.

What type of batteries to use and how to install them?

Use 4 AA 1.5 V batteries (alkaline recommended). Open the battery compartment (usually located under the cap or in the base), insert the batteries respecting polarity (+/-). Close the cover.

How to clean the salt/pepper mill?

Clean the exterior with a slightly damp soft cloth. Never immerse the device in water. For the grinding mechanism, grind a little raw rice to clean it, then empty and wipe.

Why is the mill not working?

Check that the batteries are correctly installed and not discharged. Make sure the container is not too full and the grains are not too large or wet. If the problem persists, the mechanism may be clogged: clean it by grinding rice.

The mill makes an abnormal noise, what to do?

An unusual noise may indicate a blockage or grains that are too hard. Stop the device, empty the contents and check that no foreign object is stuck. Clean the mechanism with rice. If the noise persists, contact customer service.

Can you grind something other than salt and pepper?

This mill is designed only for dry salt and peppercorns. Do not grind oily spices, wet seeds or other substances, as this could damage the ceramic mechanism.

How to know if the mill is operating?

The device turns on automatically when tilted (or via a button depending on the version). An LED light activates during grinding. Release the tilt (or button) to stop.

Notes on Handling Batteries

• Keep batteries away from children. They are not a toy!

• When inserting a battery, ensure the correct polarity.

Removing the Lid of the Housing

• Turn the lid slightly in an anticlockwise direction.
• Then pull the lid upwards to remove it.

Inserting the Batteries

• Remove the cover from the battery compartment.
• Insert 4 batteries of type Mignon/AA/R6 into the battery compartment. Please ensure the correct polarity.
• Replace the cover in order to secure the batteries.

Note: With the switch you can switch the mill on and off.

Filling with Materials to be Milled

• Pull the motor section to separate it from the storage container.
• The storage container can be filled with peppercorns or grains of salt.

Replacing the Motor Section

• In order that the electricity can be transmitted to the lamp, the contact pins have to engage with the contact screws on the storage container.
• Please also note that the drive fi ts on to the axle of the storage container.

Positioning the Lid

- Then position the cover of the housing such that the arrow is pointing to the 🔍 symbol on the storage container.

• Turn the cover a short distance in a clockwise direction.
• The lid is now locked in place.

Setting the Degree of Grinding

• Turn the wheel on the underside of the mill in an anticlockwise direction if you want to grind the peppercorns/salt grains more coarsely.
• Turn the wheel on the underside of the mill in a clockwise direction if you wish to grind the peppercorns/salt grains more finely.

Operation

Press the switch to grind the peppercorns. The lamp lights up.

When the device is not in use

If the mill is not going to be used for a considerable time, please remove the batteries in order to prevent battery acid from leaking out.

Cleaning

• Only use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the unit.
• Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaners.
