Press the UNIT button to toggle between m/s, km/h, mph and knots. The selected unit is displayed on the screen.

What to do if the display is dim or flickering?

How to clean the anemometer?

Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the housing. Avoid solvents and soapy water. Never immerse the device in water.

Can the anemometer measure temperature?

Yes, it also measures the ambient temperature. It is displayed on the screen, usually in °C or °F (depending on settings).

What is the difference between instant speed and gust?

Instant speed is the real-time measurement. Gust is the maximum recorded value over a short period. Use the MAX mode to display the gust.

How to use the MAX/MIN function?

Briefly press the MAX/MIN button to display the recorded maximum and minimum values. A long press resets these values.

Is the device rain-resistant?

It is not waterproof. Protect it from rain and excessive moisture. Use in light drizzle with caution.

Why does the wind speed show 0 when there is wind?

Check that the batteries are properly inserted and that the impeller rotates freely. If the problem persists, there may be an internal malfunction.

How to reset the anemometer?

Remove the batteries, wait a few seconds, then reinsert them. This resets to default settings. Use a pointed object to press the RESET button if available.

Where to find spare parts?

Only the batteries are user-replaceable. For any other part, contact TFA customer service or an authorized dealer.

• Batteries must not be thrown into a fire, short-circuited, taken apart or recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Batteries contain harmful acids. Low batteries should be changed as soon as possible to prevent damage caused by leaking.

6. Operation

6.1 Getting started

• Open the screw of the battery compartment (below RoHS sign) and insert the battery 9 V. Ensure that the battery polarity is correct.
• Please pay attention to the connection wires.
• Close the battery compartment again.

• All LCD segments will be displayed for about a few seconds.
• The battery symbol, the actual measured temperature, the measuring unit (default: m/s) and 000:0 appear on the display.
  • The unit is ready for use.
• The device will turn off automatically after 15 minutes, if no button is pressed.
• Press the ON/OFF button for at least 3 seconds to turn off the instrument immediately.

6.2 Measuring of the wind speed

• Press the ON/OFF button.
• All LCD segments will be displayed for about a few seconds.
• The battery symbol, the actual measured temperature, the measuring unit (default: m/s) and 000:0 appear on the display.
• Press and hold the MAX/MIN button to change between m/s, km/h, Knots, Mph or ft/min as measuring unit.
• Hold the device in the wind.
• The wind speed is displayed in the selected measuring unit.

6.3 Reading of the maximum and minimum values

• Press the MAX/MIN button to enter the maximum and minimum mode.
  • MAX appears on the display.
• The highest wind speed and the temperature since the last activating of the device are displayed.
• Press the button again.
  • MIN appears on the display.
• The lowest wind speed and the temperature since the last activating of the device are displayed.
• Press the MAX/MIN button again to leave the maximum and minimum mode

6.4 Changing of the temperature unit

• The default setting is ^ .
• To change the temperature unit, turn off the device first by pressing and holding the ON / OFF button.
• Press and hold the MAX/MIN button.
• Press and hold the ON/OFF button at the same time.
• The device switches on and the temperature unit appears in °F.
• To change the temperature unit again, turn off the device first.

6.5 Backlight

• Press the ON/OFF button to activate or deactivate the backlight.
• If the ON/OFF button is not pressed, the backlight switches off automatically after approximately 30 seconds.

7. Care and maintenance

• Clean the device with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
• Remove the battery if you do not use the device for a long period of time.
• Keep the device in a dry place.

7.1 Battery replacement

• Change the battery when the battery symbol appears on the display.
• Confirm the device is power off before changing battery.
• Open the battery compartment and insert a new battery 9 V.
