General Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. - When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.
- Pay careful attention to the following "Special Safety Instructions".

Special Safety Measures for this Device

WARNING: Danger of burns!
During operation the temperature of the exposed surface may be very hot.

CAUTION: Danger of fire!
Oil and fat preparations may burn if overheated. Keep the unit at a safe distance from easily inflammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc. (30 cm).

CAUTION:
Place the device on a stable surface! Both heating elements and the operating panel must stand on a work surface.
- Only transport the device
- after it has completely cooled down and
- when both heating elements are attached to the carry handle.
Ensure that the large recesses at the handle point upwards. - Do not move the device when it is in use.
- During use, ensure that the mains lead does not come into contact with hot sections of the device.
- Do not touch the hot parts of the device.
- Please do not operate the device with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
Intended Use
This device is used for
• heating, grilling and browning food.
It is intended exclusively for this purpose and may only be used as such. It may only be used in the manner described in these instructions for use. The device must not be used for commercial purposes.
Any other use of this device is considered to be contrary to the intended use and may result in damage to materials or even personal injury.
The firm Elektro-technische Vertriebsgesellschaft does not accept any liability for damage caused as a result of the use of this device contrary to its intended use.
Scope of Delivery
The raclette consists of one operating panel and two heating elements. The heating elements can be placed in various angles.
Further accessories are included:
- 1 carry handle
• 2 "hot stones"
- 2 stainless steel plates
- 8 mini pans
- 8 wooden spatulas
Unpacking the Device
- Remove the device from its packaging.
- Remove all of the packaging material such as foils, filling material, cable holders and cardboard packaging.
- Check the scope of delivery.

NOTE:
There may still be dust or production residues on the surface of the device. We recommend that you wipe off the housing with a damp cloth. Clean the stones manually in dishwater.
Instructions for Use
Transport
Attach the two heating elements to the carry handle.

CAUTION:
For safe transport, the large recesses on the handle must point up.

Position

CAUTION:
Grease splattering may occur around the raclette and the hot stones.
Place on a level, easy-to-clean, heat-resistant plate.
Assembly
The operating panel doubles up as a swivel joint.
- You can position your raclette in various ways:
- Both grill surfaces can be placed next to each other.
- Remove the carry handle to place the grill surfaces apart from each other.
- Place the two stones in the frame on top of the heating elements.
- Slide the stainless steel plates under the glass trays in the respective recesses.
- Place the raclette mini pans onto the glass trays.
Electric Connection
- Ensure that both switches are set to 0 (Off).
- Connect the device to a properly installed socket with 230V, 50Hz earthing contact.
I/0 On/Off Switch
The grill surfaces can be switched on/off separately.
- Turn the device on. The indicator lamps in the switches indicate the mode.
- When you have finished using the device, please turn it off.
Non-stick coating
- Slightly grease the pans. Place the raclette mini pans onto the glass trays.
• Make the appliance work for about 5 minutes without any food in it to remove the protective coating.

NOTE:
A small amount of smoke is normal. Please ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
- Clean the pans when cool in soapy water. Your new unit is now ready for operation.
Tips for a Raclette Evening
- Cut all the ingredients into small pieces or slices.
- You can roast meat on the hot stone. Please strew salt over the surface beforehand in order to prevent the meat from sticking.
- The device should be preheated for approximately 30 minutes.
- Place the food you want to cook on the hot stone. In the pans you can put for example mushrooms or small slices of bread with cheese to cook.
- Do not overfill the pan.
- Please ensure that the ingredients do not come into contact with the heating element.
• To avoid damaging the non-stick coating, remove the food with a wood spatula. - In the meantime you should remove larger food residues, e.g. baked-on cheese, from the pans so that they do not burn.
Switching Off
- Set both switches to 0 (Off) to switch the device off. The indicator lamps in the switches turn off.
- Remove the mains plug from the socket.
- Leave the appliance to cool and clean as described in "Cleaning".
Cleaning

WARNING:
▶ Always remove the mains plug before cleaning and servicing the device.
▶ Under no circumstances should you clean the raclette by immersing it in water. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:
▶ Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
▶ Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
Pans with Non-stick Coating
- Please remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel.
• The pans can be washed by hand in soapy water.
Hot Stone
- Clean the hot stone by hand in soapy water.
- Badly soiled surfaces can be cleaned with a nylon brush.
Stainless Steel Plates

WARNING:
The edges of the stainless steel plates can be very sharp. Risk of injury!
- Clean the plates carefully in dishwater.
Raclette
- Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the unit.
