How do I connect the YourType Folio keyboard to my iPad?

Enable Bluetooth on your iPad, then turn on the keyboard by sliding the switch to ON. Look for 'YourType Folio' in the device list and pair. The PIN code is displayed on screen if necessary.

How do I recharge the keyboard battery?

Use the provided USB-C cable to connect the keyboard to a power adapter or USB port. The indicator lights up red during charging and turns off when fully charged.

The keyboard does not turn on, what should I do?

Check that the switch is set to ON. If the indicator does not light up, the battery may be discharged. Plug it in to charge for at least 30 minutes before trying again.

Can I use the keyboard with devices other than iPad?

The YourType Folio is designed primarily for iPad, but it can work with any Bluetooth-compatible device (Android phone, computer). The key layout may not match perfectly.

How do I clean the keyboard and case?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the keys and outer surface. Avoid chemicals and excessive moisture. For the microfiber interior, a slightly damp cloth can be used.

The backlight does not work, how to fix it?

Make sure the backlight is enabled via the Fn key + the sun key. If still not, check the battery level. A low level may automatically disable the backlight.

How do I adjust the tablet angle with the folio?

The folio offers multiple angles via the magnetic groove. Simply place the iPad in the desired groove to get the desired viewing angle.

The keyboard types incorrect characters, what to do?

Check that the keyboard layout on your iPad matches the keyboard (AZERTY). Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards and make sure 'French (AZERTY)' is selected.

Is there a firmware update available?

Belkin occasionally releases updates. Download the Belkin Keyboard Utility app from the App Store and follow the instructions to check and install updates.

How do I know if the battery is low?

A red light flashes on the keyboard when the battery is low. You can also check the level in your iPad's Bluetooth settings (under the connected device).

Charging the Keyboard

The keyboard contains an internal battery that is charged using the supplied USB to micro-USB cable. Connect the USB end to an appropriate USB power source (e.g., laptop, desktop, USB wall charger, etc.). Connect the micro-USB end into the keyboard. When the keyboard is plugged into a USB source, the Charge Status amber LED comes ON for about 30 seconds and goes off if the battery is fully charged; if the battery needs recharging, the light stays ON until the battery is fully charged.

The keyboard has been designed to be operational even when the battery is empty, as long as it is connected via the USB to micro-USB cable to an appropriate USB power source. While it is charging, the keyboard will be fully operational whether the switch is set to an on or off position.

Pairing the Keyboard

The keyboard connects to your tablet via Bluetooth technology.

Before using the keyboard, you must first pair it with your Bluetooth wireless-technology-enabled iPad. Pairing is necessary for two Bluetooth devices to connect to each other wirelessly. After creating a paired link, you do not need to repeat the pairing process; the keyboard automatically links to the tablet when both devices are switched on. Pairing must be performed every time you want to use the keyboard with a different iPad. If the keyboard is not paired, the status LED will flash blue.

To initiate pairing between the keyboard and iPad, ensure that they are in close proximity:

1. Go to the Home screen on your iPad and tap on "Settings > General > Bluetooth."
2. Turn Bluetooth to "On."
3. Turn on the keyboard and press and hold the "pair" key.
4. The Status LED will flash blue on the keyboard and the keyboard will show up under "Devices" on the tablet. Select "Belkin Bluetooth Keyboard."
5. A code will appear on the iPad screen. Enter this code followed by the "Enter" key using the keyboard.
6. When pairing is complete, the iPad will notify you that the pairing was successful. The keyboard will then be paired to your iPad.
7. If, after 60 seconds, pairing fails, you will have to repeat the steps above. You can view the status from the screen of the iPad.
8. You can now use the keyboard to type onto your iPad.

Using the Keyboard

The YourType Keyboard is designed to prolong battery life and will enter into battery-saving mode under prolonged inactivity. To wake the keyboard, press any button. The Status LED will flash blue while the connection is being reestablished, and will be solid blue for two seconds when the connection is successfully established. The Status LED then turns off during ongoing operation.

When connecting the Russian keyboard (F5L114bmC00) to your iPad, make sure to select "Russian" in the Hardware Keyboard Layout setting.

The YourType™ Folio + Keyboard should be disposed of properly. Please do not dispose in trash receptacles or incinerate.

What this warranty covers.

Belkin International, Inc. (“Belkin”) warrants to the original purchaser of this Belkin product that the product shall be free of defects in design, assembly, material, or workmanship.

What the period of coverage is.

Belkin warrants the Belkin product for three years.

What will we do to correct problems?

Product Warranty.

Belkin will repair or replace, at its option, any defective product free of charge (except for shipping charges for the product). Belkin reserves the right to discontinue any of its products without notice, and disclaims any limited warranty to repair or replace any such discontinued products. In the event that Belkin is unable to repair or replace the product (for example, because it has been discontinued), Belkin will offer either a refund or a credit toward the purchase of another product from Belkin.com in an amount equal to the purchase price of the product as evidenced on the original purchase receipt as discounted by its natural use.

What is not covered by this warranty?

All above warranties are null and void if the Belkin product is not provided to Belkin for inspection upon Belkin's request at the sole expense of the purchaser, or if Belkin determines that the Belkin product has been improperly installed, altered in any way, or tampered with. The Belkin Product Warranty does not protect against acts of God such as flood, lightning, earthquake, war, vandalism, theft, normal-use wear and tear, erosion, depletion, obsolescence, abuse, damage due to low voltage disturbances (i.e. brownouts or sags), non-authorized program, or system equipment modification or alteration.

How to get service.

To get service for your Belkin product you must take the following steps:

1. Contact Belkin International, Inc., at 12045 E. Waterfront Drive, Playa Vista, CA 90094, Attn: Customer Service, or call (800)-223-5546, within 15 days of the Occurrence. Be prepared to provide the following information:

a. The part number of the Belkin product.
b. Where you purchased the product.
c. When you purchased the product.
d. Copy of original receipt.

1. Your Belkin Customer Service Representative will then instruct you on how to forward your receipt and Belkin product and how to proceed with your claim.

Belkin reserves the right to review the damaged Belkin product. All costs of shipping the Belkin product to Belkin for inspection shall be borne solely by the purchaser. If Belkin determines, in its sole discretion, that it is impractical to ship the damaged equipment to Belkin, Belkin may designate, in its sole discretion, an equipment repair facility to inspect and estimate the cost to repair such equipment. The cost, if any, of shipping the equipment to and from such repair facility and of such estimate shall be borne solely by the purchaser. Damaged equipment must remain available for inspection until the claim is finalized. Whenever claims are settled, Belkin reserves the right to be subrogated under any existing insurance policies the purchaser may have.
