General Safety Instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.

Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.

  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
  • The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.
  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
  • Use only original spare parts.

WARNING:

  • The iron may not be left unattended while it is connected to the power supply.
  • Disconnect the mains plug before filling the water tank. Only fill the tank to the maximum mark. Do not overfill it! Maximum water filling quantity: approx. 30 ml.
  • The automatic iron is not intended for regular use.
  • The iron needs to be used and rested on a sturdy, heat-resistant surface. The surface should be level.
  • The iron may not be used if it has been dropped, if it has visible damage or if it is leaking.

WARNING:

  • The soleplate (10) gets hot quickly and takes a long time to cool down. Do not touch it.
  • When not in use, rest the iron vertically on the stand (9).
  • Keep the iron and its power cord out of the reach of children under the age of 8 when turning it on or when allowing it to cool.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
    • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Filling container

First Use of the Machine

  • Clean the ironing base with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Fill the water reservoir at the refill opening (6). Use the filling container to help you. Close the lid of the tank and lock it in place.
  • Preferably use distilled water or clear tap water (maximum water hardness level 2). If water is harder, used distilled water only.

- Do not fill battery water, water from the clothes dryer and water containing additives (such as starch, perfume, softener or other chemicals) into the water reservoir. This could damage the iron due to residues forming in the steam chamber. These residues may cause impurities to the fabric when dropping out of the holes in the soleplate.

Instructions for Use

Handle

The handle (12) rotates. You can fold it out or place it over the iron as you wish.

Steam Brush

With the brush attachment or steam brush you can freshen up creased laundry.

• To do so, push the brush attachment on to the soleplate and tighten the lock (5).
- If the steam brush is used the tank must be full and a high temperature selected, e.g. cotton or linen.
• Garments that are hanging up can be treated with the steam jet button.

i NOTE:

If you use this function, the water tank should always be replenished in good time.

Using the Machine

i NOTE:

This device should only be used for ironing garments and textiles.

Remove any protective films and adhesive labels from the stainless steel soleplate before using the appliance. Completely unwind the line cord.

Electrical connection

i NOTE:

Always set the temperature control (1) to "min" before connecting the appliance to a power point, or before disconnecting it.

  • Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the line voltage match.
  • Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket, 230 V/50 Hz.

i NOTE:

Always pull the plug out of the socket after using the iron.

Ironing without steam

  1. Empty the water tank if necessary.
  2. Place the iron on its stand (9).
  3. Sort out the garments according to their ironing temperatures. Start with the lower temperatures. It is set with the thermostat (1):
    “●” Synthetics, silk low temperature
    “●●” Wool medium temperature
    “●●●” Cotton, linen high temperature
    max maximum temperature

  4. The control lamp (2) lights up. As soon as it shuts off, the set temperature is reached. Now you can start to iron.

Steam Ironing

  • Steam is produced by means of the steam jet function (3).
  • For steam ironing the tank must be full and a high temperature selected, e.g. cotton or linen.

WARNING:

The steam is hot. Danger of scalding!

i NOTE:

If you would like to iron subsequently without steam again or at a lower temperature, the water tank has to be emptied.

Refilling the water tank

• Always disconnect the mains plug before refilling water.
- Open the lid of the refill inlet (6) and carefully pour in the water. Do not exceed the maximum line as marked on the water reservoir.

Vertical Steam

This can be used to produce a jet of steam in a vertical direction.

i NOTE:

To avoid excess water leaking from the soleplate do not operate the steam burst for more than 5 seconds without interruption.

Cleaning and Storage

• Always remove the mains lead before cleaning.
- Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth.
- Clean the iron with a slightly humid cloth.
- Empty the water tank in order to prevent its contents from leaking.

WARNING:

The device must never be immersed in water!

Decalcification

  • The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is used.
  • Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.
