• Thank you for purchasing this Pioneer product.
• To ensure safe and proper usage, please read the accompanying Operating Instructions carefully before using the product.
• Keep the Operating Instructions stored in an accessible place.

Installation Work

• This product is sold on the premise that it will be installed by a professional with sufficient technique and skills. Make sure to request installation and mounting from a professional construction company or your sales agent.
• Pioneer shall not be liable in any way for any accidents or damage resulting from improper installation or mounting, incorrect usage, remodeling, natural disasters or the like.

Usage Precautions

1. This product is exclusively for use with the 43-inch model plasma display.

2. It should not be used for any other purpose, such as for holding a plasma display, or remodeled in any way.

3. The installation site should

(a) be strong enough to support the weight of the plasma display,
(b) not allow people to easily hang from or bump into the setup,
(c) not be outdoors or in proximity to hot springs or the ocean, and
(d) not be subjected to vibration or shock.
(e) In addition, a professional construction company should be consulted in the event that the walls or ceiling are not structurally sound enough to permit installation.
(f) Make sure to thoroughly read the Operating Instructions for the plasma display and heed all other precautions pertaining to the installation site.

1. Assembly and Installation

(a) Follow the assembly procedure and tighten screws in all of the specified places. Failure to do so could cause an unexpected accident, such as the display breaking or falling down after it has been installed.
(b) For safety reasons, have two or more people perform the work.
(c) Prior to starting the work, make sure to turn OFF the plasma display's main power switch and to unplug the power plug from its outlet.

1. Do not loosen any of the screws, as doing so could cause the display to fall down or a similar accident.
2. If you detect any abnormalities or poor performance, immediately contact a professional construction company for repairs.
3. As damage that is not readily visible, such as to the interior of the display's metal fixtures or the parts mounted against walls, could cause the display to fall down, make sure to contact a professional construction company for related inspection when having the display inspected or repaired or when having interior finishing done. We recommend having a professional construction company make periodic inspections, when possible.
4. With long-term use, the display's metal fixtures could lose their strength, depending on the environment. To promote problem-free use, we thus recommend having a professional construction company inspect the installation every five years, as a rule.

Pioneer shall not be liable in any way for any accidents or damage resulting from other than the specified assembly, mounting and usage, from remodeling, or from natural disasters or the like.

Confirming the Parts Provided

Prior to assembly, confirm the parts that have been provided. (Quantities are indicated in square brackets)

① PDP bracket [1]

② Special eye bolt [2]

③ Flat washer (small) [2]

⑤ Nut (M8) [4]

④ Monitor mounting bolt [4]

⑥ Nut with spring washer [6] ⑦ Flat washer (large) [4]

1 Attach an nut with spring washer (M8) ⑥ to each special eye bolt ② . Insert them in the specified holes and fix them with flat washers (small) ③ and nuts (M8) ⑤ . (For safety reasons, use 2 nuts for each special eye bolt.)

Attach the nuts (M8) in the way illustrated below to prevent the special eye bolts from loosening.

Caution

Use the special eye bolts only in the specified places. Do not use them on the plasma display itself, which could be damaged internally by them.

1. Insert the special eye bolt in the PDP bracket together with an nut with spring washer (M8). (2 locations: left and right)

1. Pass the bolt through both then use a flat washer (small) and a nut to fixate it from the bottom.

1. Tighten the nuts with a spanner.

1. For safety reasons, use 2 nuts on the bottom (tightening them so that they engage each other).

2 With the screen facing down, place the plasma display on the top of a level and stable table, as shown in the figure. Be sure not to drop or damage the display.
3 Place flat washers (large) ⑦ in the specified places (4 places) on the plasma display, then fasten them from above with the monitor mounting bolts ④ . The part of the PDP bracket where the pipe protrudes the furthest is on top.

4 Attach the PDP bracket to the fixed monitor mounting bolts (4).

Caution

Make sure to attach the washers. Using the same number of washers in the same positions will prevent the display from being crooked.

5 Lastly, fix the nuts with spring washers ⑥.

Application example

These can be used as handles to transport or to install the plasma display as shown in the figure. With the PDP bracket mounted, Pioneer's standard CEILING MOUNT UNIT (PDK-5012) can be attached (excluding wall hanging hardware (PDK-5011, PDK-5013)).

As the types of screws used for installing the PDP BRACKET in walls or the like will differ depending on the strength of the place they are installed and material quality, purchase suitable screws separately.
