How to empty the dust collector?

ASSEMBLING THE VACUUM CLEANER

• Remove all packaging material from the appliance and its accessories.
• Insert the nozzle of the flexible hose into the hose connection inlet on the front part of the appliance. Press until it clicks. To remove the flexible hose, press on the release button of the connection piece and pull it out of the appliance.
  • Fit the telescopic tube to the handle of the flexible hose.
• You can adjust the length of the telescopic tube by pressing the button situated in the middle of the tube.
  • Fit the other end of the telescopic tube to the suction device or any other accessory.
• The floor brush is ideal for the daily cleaning of carpets and hard floors. Setting with the bristles inside for cleaning carpets. Setting with the bristles outside for cleaning hard floors.
• The appliance is delivered with the following accessories: a crevice tool: for radiators, crevices, corners, baseboards and between cushions. an upholstery brush: for curtains, cushions, edges, doors, mattresses etc.

OPERATION

• Make sure that filters are installed correctly. Using the vacuum cleaner without filters or with filters wrongly installed could damage the engine (cf paragraph "FILTERS").
• Once the appliance is assembled, pull out the cord to have the desired cord length. A yellow mark indicates that you unwound nearly the whole cord length. The red mark is the maximum limit above which you should not go. Plug in the appliance. Start the engine by softly pressing the "ON/OFF" switch.
• You can adjust the suction power manually with the wind force adjuster situated on the hose handle, or with the electronic power control switch. Use a low suction power for furniture and other delicate surfaces and use high suction power for fitted carpet and other floors.

Air Blower Function (additional function)

• You may convert your machine to blow air out by attaching the flexible hose to the machine's air outlet socket (at the right side of the vacuum cleaner).
• The blower function is recommended to gather scattered dry waste such as leaves and confetti.

CAUTION: This blower function is just an additional, substandard, unofficial function of this vacuum cleaner. SO WE RECOMMEND USING THIS FUNCTION QUICKLY AND ONLY FOR A LITTLE WHILE FOR EACH USE.

The flexible hose and handle may become very hot after a long-time use, at that time you should stop using this function; use again after several minutes, when the appliance has cooled down.

AFTER USE

Stop the vacuum cleaner by pressing the ON/OFF switch.

- Unplug the appliance from the power supply.

- Simply press the cable rewind button to activate the cable rewind mechanism. During the winding up of the power cord, please guide the cord with your hand to avoid wounds due to the speed of the rewinding.

- In order to avoid bad smells or mould, empty the dust container after each use if possible (see paragraph below).

EMPTYING THE DUST CONTAINER

• Press the unlock button on top of the dust container and simultaneously remove the container as shown in fig. 1 page 6.
• Press the unlock button at the bottom of the dust container to open and empty it. This should be done above a dustbin as shown in pic A fig. 2 page 6.
• Close the container (fig. 3, page 7).

FILTERS

This device is equipped with a HEPA filter protected with a nylon filter and another nylon filter situated in the dust container, an air filter situated behind the grid of the appliance, and also a motor filter situated behind the dust container.

Cleaning the HEPA filter and the nylon filter

If the suction power is reduced even after emptying the dust container, it is necessary to clean the HEPA filter and the nylon filter.

• Remove the dust cup cover by pressing the dust cup cover release button as shown in pic B fig. 2 page 6.
• Remove the nylon filter "A" by turning it to the "OPEN" direction as mentioned under the filter.
• Remove the HEPA filter "B" by turning it to the "OPEN" direction as mentioned under the filter.
• Another nylon filter is situated around the HEPA filter "B". To remove it, you just have to pull it out.

• Rinse the HEPA filter "B", the nylon filters "A" and the one around the HEPA filter with water as shown in fig. 3 page 7. If necessary, you may use a smooth brush. Carefully dry the fillers. Never put them in a dishwasher or dry them with a hair dryer.
• To put back the filters, do it the opposite way. Please pay attention to the "A" and "B" mark on both filters and cover, in order to put the filters at the correct place on the cover.

Motor filter

To clean the motor filter (filter situated on top of the motor).

To remove the motor filter; switch off the appliance, remove the dust container and remove the filter to wash it in soapsuds (approximately every 3 months). When it is completely dry, put it back in the appliance and replace the dust container.

Cleaning of the exhaust HEPA air filter

The air filter is situated behind the grid on the side of the appliance opposite to the power cord and guarantees fresh air when vacuum cleaning. This filter should be cleaned approximately three times a year.

Unplug the appliance, open the grid and remove the filter. Clean it with a soft brush or by using running, lukewarm water as shown in fig. 5 page 7.

Give the HEPA filter enough time to dry out completely, then put it back in the appliance with the plastic grid downwards and close the grid.

NOTE: After a certain number of cleanings, the filters will be damaged or impossible to get back in their initial shape. In such case, please contact the nearest customer service to obtain new filters.

Cleaning of the dust container

Clean the dust container with a wet towel or a non-abrasive sponge. Make sure it is fully dry before putting it back into the appliance.

PRACTICAL HINTS

• The floor brush is equipped with a hook, allowing you to attach the tube to the rear part of the appliance when it is in use, for instance when you want to move a piece of furniture or after use when storing your appliance.
• If you notice a loss of suction power, it is probably due to one or a combination of the following events: blocked filter, full or punctured bag or blockage in tubes. If your appliance still does not work properly after you have checked those problems, please ask a qualified electrician for advice.
