ASSEMBLING THE VACUUM CLEANER

• Remove all packaging material from the appliance and its accessories.
• Insert the nozzle of the flexible hose (4) into the hose connection inlet on the front part of the appliance. Press until it clicks (Fig 1). To remove the flexible hose, press on the release button of the connection piece and pull it out of the appliance.
  • Fit the telescopic tube (2) to the handle of the flexible hose (Fig. 2).
• You can adjust the length of the telescopic tube by pressing the button (5) situated in the middle of the tube. (Fig. 3)
• Fit the other end of the telescopic tube to the suction device (1) or any other accessory (Fig. 4).
• The 2-settings suction device allows you to clean all surfaces very easily, smooth surfaces or carpets, simply by changing the brush position:

Setting with the bristles inside for cleaning carpets. Setting with the bristles outside for cleaning hard floors.

OPERATION

• Make sure that filters are installed correctly. Using the vacuum cleaner without filters or with filters wrongly installed could damage the appliance engine (cf paragraph "FILTERS")
• WARNING: In order to avoid electric disturbances when starting the appliance, it is equipped with a "soft start" system. This prevents the engine from starting with too much power, and for this reason, there can be a small interval (1 to 2 seconds) between pressing the "start" button and the starting of the engine. This is perfectly normal.
• Once the appliance is assembled, pull out the cord to have the desired cord length. A yellow mark indicates that you unwound nearly the whole cord length. The red mark is the maximum limit above which you should not go. Plug the appliance in. Start the engine by softly pressing the "ON/OFF" switch (8).
• You can adjust the suction power manually with the wind force adjuster (6) situated on the hose handle, or with the electronic power control switch (7). Use a low suction power for furniture and other delicate surfaces and use high suction power for fitted carpet and other floors.
• A combined accessory (15) is provided to clean unreachable surfaces (narrow inlet) or fragile surfaces such as furniture or curtains (long hair inlet). This accessory is fixed either to the handle or to the extremity of the hose.
  • The brush (14) is recommended for mattresses, stuffed furniture, sofas, tapestries.
  • A place is foreseen at the back of the appliance to put every accessory.

AFTER USE

Stop the vacuum cleaner by pressing the ON/OFF switch (8).

EMPTYING THE DUST CONTAINER

• Press the unlock buttons on the sides of the front part of the dust container and simultaneously remove the container (Fig. 6)
• Press the unlock button at the bottom of the dust container (Fig. 7). Open the bottom of the container and empty it. This should be made above a dustbin.
• Close the container.

FILTERS

This device is equipped with a HEPA filter and a nylon filter situated in the dust container, and an air filter situated behind the grid of the appliance.

Cleaning the HEPA filter and the nylon filter

If the suction power is reduced even after emptying the dust container, it is necessary to clean the HEPA filter and the nylon filter.

• Remove the dust container as mentioned here above.
  • Turn the superior front part of the container anticlockwise until it comes off.
• Remove the front part and the dust container filters.
• Remove the front part filters of the container by making it turn anticlockwise (Fig. 8)
  • The nylon filter is situated around the HEPA filter, to remove it, you just have to pull it out.
• Rinse the HEPA filter and the nylon filter with water. If necessary, you may use a smooth brush. Carefully dry the filters. Never put them in a dishwasher or dry them with a hair dryer.

• To put back the filters, do it the opposite way.

Cleaning of the air filter

The air filter is situated behind the grid at the back of the appliance and guarantees fresh air when vacuum cleaning. This filter should be cleaned approximately three times a year. Unplug the appliance, open the grid situated at the back of the appliance and remove the filter (Fig. 9). Shake it, then put it back in the appliance and close the grid.

NOTE: After a certain number of cleanings the filters will be damaged or impossible to get back in their initial shape. In such case, please contact the nearest customer service to obtain new filters.

Cleaning of the dust container

Clean the dust container with a wet towel or a non-abrasive sponge. Make sure it is fully dry before putting it back into the appliance.

PRACTICAL HINTS

• To clean stairs, put the appliance vertically.
- The telescopic tube is equipped with a hook, allowing you to attach the tube the rear part of the appliance when it is in use, for instance when you want to move a piece of furniture or after use when storing your appliance.
- If you notice a loss of suction power, it is probably due to one or a combination of the following events: blocked filter, full or punctured bag or blockage in tubes. If your appliance still does not work properly after you have checked those problems, please ask a qualified electrician for advice.
