Frequently Asked Questions - NCDK1CXC PANASONIC

How to clean the kettle filter?
Remove the filter by pushing it towards the spout then lifting it. Wash it thoroughly with a brush. If the spout is scaled, use a suitable descaler. Always replace the filter after cleaning.
Why does the water take a long time to boil?
Several possible causes: the lid is open (close it), a build-up of lime scale (clean with a descaler), or very cold water. Also check that the kettle is not overfilled.
What to do if there is loud noise during boiling?
The noise can increase due to lime scale build-up. Clean the kettle with a suitable descaler. If the noise persists, it is not abnormal.
How to descale the kettle?
Use a suitable descaler following the product's instructions. After descaling, boil water several times and discard it to remove residues. Regular cleaning prevents lime scale build-up.
Is it possible to use something other than water?
No, this kettle is designed only for boiling water. Never use milk, tea, alcohol or other liquids as this could cause burns or damage the appliance.
What to do if the kettle heats without water?
The dry heating protection activates automatically to prevent accidents. Let the appliance cool, remove it from the base, fill with water, then restart.
How to adjust the power cord length?
Wrap the cord under the power base to adjust the length. Route the cord through the open section. Never place the base on the cord.
Can I open the lid while the water is boiling?
Never open the lid while the water is boiling, as boiling water could splash and cause burns. Wait until the appliance shuts off automatically.
Can the appliance be used by children?
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above under supervision. Children under 8 should keep away from the appliance and cord. Cleaning should not be done by children without supervision.
What to do if the plug heats abnormally?
Unplug immediately and stop using the appliance. A hot plug may indicate a short circuit or overload. Contact a Panasonic service center for inspection.
