How do I set the clock on the VT-3585 SR?

Press and hold the Clock button until the hour flashes. Use the Tuning +/- buttons to adjust, then press Clock again to set minutes. Press Clock to confirm.

Can I use batteries instead of AC power?

Yes, the radio can be powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). Insert them into the battery compartment on the bottom. When using AC, batteries are automatically disconnected.

How can I improve FM reception?

Extend the telescopic antenna fully and orient it for best signal. Avoid placing the radio near metal objects or electronic devices. For AM, rotate the whole unit as the antenna is built-in.

How do I save a radio station as a preset?

Tune to the desired station, then press and hold one of the Preset buttons (1-5) until you hear a beep. To access presets, press Preset then the number.

The radio does not turn on. What should I check?

Ensure the power cord is firmly plugged into a working outlet, or that fresh batteries are inserted correctly. Check the Power switch is not set to standby. If using batteries, try replacing them.

How do I use the sleep timer?

POWER

Installing the batteries

1. This radio receiver can use three UM1 type batteries for power.
   They must be inserted into the battery compartment, following polarity.
2. If the sound weakens or static is heard when listening, new batteries should be installed.

Attention!

1. Do not use new and old batteries or batteries of different types at the same time.
2. To avoid spillage of electrolyte and threat of dangerous explosion, it is not recommended to recharge, heat, or take batteries apart.
3. If you are not planning to use the receiver for a long period of time, don't forget to remove the batteries, otherwise the electrolyte may spill and damage parts of the device.

AC power

1. Plug in the power cord to the AC power outlet.
2. If the device is connected to power, the batteries automatically turn off.

Checking the activation of the electronic lock before turning the receiver on

screen, then you must cancel this function first of all, otherwise the receiver will not turn on.

Turning on receiver

Band selection

2. To switch to the MW/SW1-10 bands, use the selector (1).

Tuner

1. To choose the desired tuner, rotate the tuning regulator (4).

You will see the frequency displayed on the screen.

1. If the tuning is done properly, the radio signal will be steady. The indicator (5) will light at the same time.

Volume level indicator

1. You can see 16 volume levels on the display.

2. To set the desired volume, press the set hours/increase volume button (8) or, accordingly, the set minutes/decrease volume button (9).

Backlight button

When this button (12) is pressed, the display will light for 10 sec.

Headphones connection

To listen to radio programs in head phones, connect them to the jack (6). The receiver's speaker will automatically turn off.

Carrying handle

The receiver is equipped with a convenient carrying handle.

SETTING THE TIME

Setting the current time

1. The receiver is programmed with a 24 hour mode clock.
2. After battery installation, the screen will show the time as 12:00.
3. Press the set time/set alarm (MODE) button. The time on the screen will begin to blink.
4. Then, within three seconds, press the set hours/increase volume and the set minutes/decrease volume buttons to set the needed time.
5. Setting the current time can be done while listening to the radio.

Viewing world times

1. You can see the time anywhere in the world when the receiver is off.

Press the band selector/world time button (14). After that, the LOCAL indicator will disappear from the display and the second indicator will stop blinking.

1. To choose the world time, use the set hours (8) and set minutes (9) buttons.
2. After looking at world times, the current time will again appear and the LOCAL indicator will return.
3. The time difference is shown rounded up to one hour; the minutes do not change. When looking at world times, the current time indicator disappears.

ALARM FUNCTION

1. Press the set time/set alarm (MODE) (13) button twice. After that, this symbol will appear on the screen and the alarm time will blink.
2. Press the set hours (8) and set minutes (9) buttons or hold them down for three seconds to make the numbers change faster and set the desired wakeup alarm time.
3. The alarm may be set while listening to the radio.
4. When the desired wakeup time arrives, the alarm will automatically activate.
5. After the alarm has activated, the receiver automatically turns off in 90 minutes.

SLEEP TIMER FUNCTION

1. If the receiver is off, by pressing

the sleep timer button (7) (SLEEP), you turn on the radio and simultaneously the set sleep timer menu will appear on the display with the symbol SLEEP and the number 90.

1. Holding down the SLEEP button, set the desired time until receiver shutoff. When the time comes, the receiver automatically turns off. The time system for setting the Timer changes in increments: 90 80 70 60 50 40 30 20 10 – to the current time (to cancel the sleep timer).
2. Setting the sleep timer using the SLEEP button (7) can be done directly or while listening to the radio.
3. You can cancel the sleep timer function by pressing the SLEEP button (7) again then continue listening to the program.
4. To turn off the receiver immediately, press the On/Off button.

USING THE ANTENNA

Receiving MW band stations

Program reception in the MW band is carried out with the help of an internal magnetic antenna. To increase signal reception quality, rotate the receiver horizontally until the signal is strong enough.

Receiving FM band stations

Program reception in the FM band is carried out with the help of the telescoping antenna. The antenna should

be extended and then by changing its length and direction, the strongest signal can be found.

Receiving SW band stations

Program reception in the SW band is also achieved with the help of the telescoping antenna. For best reception, extend the antenna fully and position it vertically.

POSSIBLE MALFUNCTIONS AND CARING FOR YOUR DEVICE

1. Televisions, fluorescent lamps, desk lamps with transistors, computers, electric motors, etc, create strong static during signal reception in the MW and SW bands. Thus, it is not recommended to operate the radio receiver near any of the aforementioned objects.

2. Strengthening beams inside multi-level buildings and also the buildings themselves can create a screening effect and inhibit radio signal reception. In such cases, we recommend placing the receiver near a window.

3. Complex (satellite) signal sources create strong static in the FM band. Signal reception quality can be increased by moving the receiver itself and adjusting the length and position of the antenna.

4. A soft antenna wire can also be used. Connect one end to the telescoping antenna and the other to the outside of the

window. The will increase signal reception quality in the SW and FM bands.

1. This digital radio receiver can be damaged by high temperatures, humidity, vibrations, thus resulting in interruption of signal reception. In such cases, the radio will need to be re1tuned.
