If the motor of your Wolf Garten SDE 2800 EVO is not working, there are several checks to perform in order. Start by checking the power supply: ensure that the circuit breaker (minimum 16 amps) in your panel is active and reset it if it has tripped. Also, check that your installation has a 30 mA residual current device and that this circuit breaker has not tripped.

Next, inspect the power cable: visually check the plug and cable for damage (cuts, crushes, blackened areas). If the cable is damaged, do not use it — contact a specialized electrician to have it checked and replaced.

If you are using an extension cord, ensure that it does not exceed 25 meters in length and that its cross-section is at least 1.5 mm² (type HO7 RNF). For a longer extension, the cross-section must be at least 2.5 mm².

Check that the safety lock of the upper casing is properly engaged — this is a system that prevents the motor from starting if the casing is not properly closed. If the casing is not level with the motor casing, unscrew the cap, open the casing by folding it upwards, carefully clean the contact surface, then close and screw the cap back on.

If the motor hums but does not start, the cutting tool is likely blocked. Immediately unplug the power plug, then clean the inside of the device by removing any debris (branches, residues) especially near the blades. Once cleaned, press the reset button before restarting.

If the motor still does not engage after these checks, clean the filling funnel: unscrew the cap, open the casing by folding it upwards, remove any objects blocking the cutting tool in the cutting and evacuation areas, then close and screw back on. Then press the reset button before activating the on/off switch.

If after all these steps the motor still does not work, there may be an internal technical problem (defective capacitor for example) requiring professional repair. Contact an authorized Wolf-Garten repair shop.
