SAFETY NOTES
- After unpacking, make sure the appliance is intact, complete with all its parts as shown in the illustrative guide and with no sign of damage due to transportation. If in any doubt, do not use the appliance and contact an authorised service centre.

WARNING! Remove any communication material such as labels, tags etc. from the appliance before use.

WARNING! Risk of suffocation.
Children shall not play with the packaging. Keep the plastic bag out of the reach of children.
- This appliance must be used only for the purpose for which it was designed, namely as a kitchen scale for home use. Any other use is considered not compliant with the intended use and therefore dangerous.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- DO NOT expose the appliance to humidity, to the weather (rain, sun, etc.) or to extreme temperatures.
- If the appliance is faulty or malfunctions, switch it off and do not tamper with it. Contact an authorised technical service centre for any repairs.
• DO NOT immerse this appliance into water or other liquids. For any cleaning and maintenance operation refer to the instructions in the relevant chapter.

WARNING! Comply with the indications in the chapters "Restrictions for food contact".
WARNINGS CONCERNING USE OF BATTERIES
- Replace the batteries with batteries of the same kind only.

Make sure to insert batteries respecting the polarity indicated on the appliance.
-
Remove batteries from the appliance if you expect not to use it for a long time. Keep batteries in a cool and dry place at ambient temperature.
- DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- DANGER! Risk of corrosive substance leakage and

explosion. Batteries shall NOT be disassembled, exposed to excessive heat such as that caused by sunlight, fire or similar sources. They shall NOT be short circuited, orally damaged, thrown into the fire, put into water, stored tallic objects, dropped on hard surfaces. In case of battery avoid any contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
- DO NOT use the appliance and the batteries if batteries show any sign of deterioration such as: deformation, scratches, anomalous smell or discoloration of the surface. In such a case contact an authorized service centre.
- DANGER! Risk of serious lesions. Always keep the batteries

out of reach of children. If swallowed, the batteries can cause lethal lesions. Therefore, always keep the batteries out of reach of children. In the event that a battery is ed, contact a doctor or the local poison centre immediately.

CONTACT WITH FOODSTUFFS
Please follow the guidelines given in this table concerning the following to ensure that the appliance is used safely:

CLEANING BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Remove the appliance from the packaging and remove any packing fillers or adhesive labels.

WARNING! Wash the parts that come in contact with the food before using them.
- Wash the bowl by hand or in the dishwasher at a temperature not exceeding 60°C.
- Dry with a dry cloth.

MAXIMUM MEASURABLE WEIGHT
The maximum permissible load for the appliance is 5 kg.
- Do not exceed a weight of 5 kg. If this limit is exceeded, the error message "Err" appears on the display.
- To prevent overflowing and spillage, do not fill the bowl with more than 1500 ml of liquid.
ASSEMBLY
The scales do not come with batteries.
- Two 1.5 V AAA batteries are required. To fit the batteries, open the cover on the base of the appliance,
• install the batteries, ensuring that the polarity is correct,
• and close the cover. - Set the appliance down on a flat, stable surface.
- Engage the lock point on the bowl in the bowl lock on the main body.
- Press at the sides until the bowl audibly clicks into place [Fig. B].
USAGE
- Press the On/Off Zero button.
- Press the Unit button to change the unit of measurement from grammes to lb/oz or vice versa.
- To measure the volume of milk/oil/water, press Mode repeatedly until the arrow on the display points to the relative word.
- To measure the volume of flour in cups, press Mode repeatedly until the arrow on the display points to the relative word.
- Pour the ingredients into the bowl.
- To weigh additional ingredients, press On/Off Zero to reset the reading to zero.
- Add the other ingredients.
- Press and hold On/Off Zero for a few seconds.
- The scales switch off automatically after approximately 30 seconds if not used.
- Remove the bowl, pressing the release button under the hand grip [Fig. C].
- Ingredients may be poured directly from the spout without detaching the bowl [Fig D].
- Clean any parts that come into contact with foodstuffs immediately as described in the chapter 'Cleaning and care'.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
- The message "Lo" appears on the display when it is necessary to change the batteries.
- To dispose of batteries correctly, see the chapter 'Disposing of used batteries'.
- Two new 1.5 V AAA batteries are required. To fit the batteries, open the cover on the base of the appliance,
• install the batteries, ensuring that the polarity is correct,
• and close the cover.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Remove the bowl, pressing the release button under the hand grip [Fig. C].
- Wash the bowl by hand or in the dishwasher at a temperature not exceeding 60°C.
- Wash the main body of the scales with a damp sponge, squeezing the sponge out well before use.
- Dry with a dry cloth.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Should one of the problems indicated occur, adopt the proposed solution:

DISPOSAL AT END OF LIFE

The packaging of the appliance is made of recyclable materials. Dispose of it in accordance with the environmental protection regulations.

Pursuant to Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), the crossed bin symbol on the appliance or its packaging indicates that the appliance must be disposed of separately from other waste at the end of its useful life.
The user must therefore take the appliance to an appropriate recycling centre for electrical and electronic equipment. Alternatively, instead of handling the disposal, the user can hand over the appliance to the retailer when a new, equivalent one is purchased. The user can hand over electronic products measuring less than 25 cm to retailers of electronic products having a sales area of at least 400 m ^2 free of charge and with no obligation to buy. Appropriate separate collection for the subsequent procedure for the decommissioned appliance for recycling, which includes treatment and environmentally friendly disposal helps prevent adverse effects on the environment and health and promotes reusing and/or recycling materials that the appliance consists of.
DISPOSING OF USED BATTERIES
- Remove the batteries from the appliance before disposing of it.
- Dispose off the batteries at a specific collection centre.
• DO NOT dispose of the batteries in domestic waste.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND WARRANTY
This appliance is guaranteed for a period of 2 years from the date of delivery to the customer. This will be taken to be the date indicated on the receipt or invoice (provided that it is clearly legible), unless the customer is able to demonstrate that the product was effectively received at a later date. In the event of defects existing prior to delivery, the appliance will be repaired or replaced at no expense to the customer, depending on which of the two remedies is deemed most appropriate by the manufacturer. The customer is required to notify an authorised service centre of any defects within two months of discovering the defect itself.
This guarantee does not cover defects or damage to any parts caused by:
a. transport damage or damage caused by accidental falls,
b. repairs or modifications performed by unauthorised personnel,
c. failure to subject the appliance to proper cleaning and maintenance as indicated,
d. normal wear of the appliance and/or its parts, and consumables,
e. non-observance of the operating instructions for the appliance, negligent or careless usage,
f. use with larger quantities of foodstuffs than indicated.
The list given above is indicative only and is not exhaustive, as the guarantee does not cover any faults not directly attributable to manufacturing defects of the appliance itself. Any improper or professional use of the device will immediately void the guarantee. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any direct or indirect damage or injury to persons, property or pets attributable to the non-observance of any of the directions given in the "Instruction manual and safety information handbook" for the installation, use and maintenance of the appliance. This guarantee does not affect any retailer warranty in force.
Requesting technical support
The appliance may only be repaired by an authorised service centre.
If still covered by the guarantee, the defective appliance must be taken to an authorised service centre, accompanies by a legally valid document proving the date of sale or delivery.
