Frequently Asked Questions - DCH-650RIX Heinner

What is the recommended installation height for the cooker hood above a gas hob?
The minimum distance between the hob and the lowest part of the cooker hood is 75 cm for gas cookers. For electric cookers it is 65 cm.
How often should the grease mesh filters be cleaned?
Grease filters should be cleaned regularly (every few weeks depending on usage). They can be soaked in warm water with a grease-loosening detergent and gently brushed. Allow to dry naturally.
How do I replace the LED bulbs?
Switch off the unit and unplug it. Wait for bulbs to cool. Remove the front part with a screwdriver, carefully pull out the LED light, and replace with the same type (2*2W LSD-B1 LED light). Reattach the front part.
Does the cooker hood come with a carbon filter?
No, the carbon filter is not included in the package. It can be purchased separately for odor removal and should be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on cooking habits.
What should I do if the motor does not work but the lights are on?
The fan switch may be turned off. Select a fan switch position. If the problem persists, the fan switch or motor may have failed; contact the service center.
Can I use the cooker hood without the grease filters?
No, never use the cooker hood without the grease filters or with excessively greasy filters, as this poses a fire risk.
How do I install the cooker hood if I have an outside vent?
Drill holes at the marked positions, insert wall plugs, hang the hood on support screws, secure with safety screws. Attach the expansion pipe to the one-way wall valve and route it outside. Ensure the duct is straight and has no sharp bends.
Why is the cooker hood not extracting effectively?
Possible causes include: the distance from the hob is too far, the duct is too long or has sharp bends, or the grease filters are clogged. Check installation and clean filters regularly.
What cleaning products should I use on stainless steel surfaces?
Use a soft cloth with warm soapy water or a specialized stainless steel cleaner. Always wipe along the grain of the steel. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
Is the cooker hood suitable for use with gas appliances?
Yes, but ensure proper ventilation. The room must have adequate air supply when the hood is used simultaneously with gas or other fuel-burning appliances. The negative pressure in the room must not exceed 4 Pa.

Gas cookers: 75 cm

Electric cookers: 65 cm

Coal or oil cookers: 75 cm

  • Make sure the ducting has no bends sharper than 90 degrees as this will reduce the efficiency of the cooker hood.
  • Warning: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.

• Always put lids on pots and pans when cooking on a gas cooker.

- When in extraction mode, air in the room is being removed by the cooker hood.

HINTS FOR EXHAUST DUCT INSTALLATION

The following rules must be strictly followed to obtain optimal air extraction:

  • Keep expansion pipe short and straight.
  • Do not reduce the size or restrict expansion pipe.
  • When using expansion pipe always install the pipe pulled taut to minimize pressure loss.
  • Failure to observe these basic instructions will reduce the performance and increase noise levels of the cooker hood.
  • Any installation work must be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person.
  • Do not connect the ducting system of the hood to any existing ventilation system which is being used for any other appliance, such as warmer tube, gas tube, hot wind tube.
•The angle of the bend of the expansion pipe should not be less than 120^ ; you must direct the pipe horizontally, or, alternatively, the pipe should go up from the initial point and should be led to an outer wall.

• After the installation, make sure that the cooker hood is level to avoid grease collection at on end.
- Ensure the expansion pipe selected for installation complies with relevant standards and is fire retardant.
