Frequently Asked Questions - Goro GM-1000W WILFA

How do I clean the soleplate?
Allow the iron to cool, then wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn residues, use a mixture of vinegar and water. Ensure the iron is unplugged before cleaning.
How do I descale the iron?
Fill the water tank with a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Set the iron to maximum steam and allow it to steam for 5 minutes. Then empty and rinse with clean water. Repeat monthly.
Why is the iron not producing steam?
Check if the water tank is filled. Ensure the steam control is set to a steam setting. If the iron is cold, it will not produce steam. Wait for it to heat up.
Can I use tap water?
Yes, but for best results and to reduce scale build-up, use distilled or demineralized water, especially in hard water areas.
How does the auto shut-off work?
The iron turns off automatically if left idle for 8 minutes on its heel or 30 seconds when lying on its side. Simply move the iron to reactivate.
What does the anti-drip system do?
The anti-drip system prevents water from leaking out when the iron is not hot enough to produce steam, keeping your clothes dry.
Can I use the iron vertically?
Yes, the iron has a vertical steam function. Hold the iron upright and press the steam burst button to remove wrinkles from hanging garments.
How do I use the self-cleaning feature?
Fill the tank halfway, set the iron to maximum temperature, and once hot, unplug it. Hold the iron over a sink and press the self-clean button. Steam and water will flush out impurities.
What should I do if the iron stains clothes?
Stains can be caused by residue or scale. Clean the soleplate as described. If using starch, spray on fabric before ironing. Avoid ironing over buttons or zippers.
Is the iron cord retractable?
No, the cord is not retractable. It is 2 meters long and can be wrapped around the cord storage at the heel for convenience.
