Frequently Asked Questions - PSI-1800 WILFA

How do I fill the water tank on the Wilfa PSI-1800?
Ensure the steam control knob and temperature dial are in the OFF position. Hold the iron upright, fill water through the water filling inlet until the water reaches the MAX mark. Do not overfill.
What type of water should I use?
Ordinary tap water is suitable due to the soleplate design. In very hard water areas, we recommend using distilled or demineralized water to prevent scale buildup.
How do I use the steam function?
Turn the temperature dial to at least ●● (two dots) or higher. Press and hold the steam button to emit pressurized steam. For continuous steam, press the button once. The LED turns green when ready.
Can I use the iron without steam?
Yes, for dry ironing, turn the temperature dial to the desired setting. The steam flow automatically cuts off if there is water in the tank. All fabric settings are usable for dry ironing.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The iron automatically shuts off after 5 minutes upright or 30 seconds in horizontal position. The auto shut-off indicator flashes. To reset, lift and gently rock the iron horizontally, or press the steam or spray button.
How do I clean the iron?
After each use, unplug and empty the water tank by turning the iron upside down over the sink. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Clean the ceramic soleplate occasionally with a soft damp cloth to remove starch deposits.
How should I store the iron?
Allow the iron to cool down completely. Always store in the upright position to protect the soleplate. Coil the cord loosely around the iron.
What is the soleplate made of?
The soleplate is ceramic, providing maximum glide and heat retention.
What is the power rating?
The Wilfa PSI-1800 operates on 230V~, 50Hz and has a power consumption of 1800 watts.
Can I use the iron on vertical fabrics?
Yes, the iron has a vertical steam function. Hold the iron upright and press the steam button to direct steam onto hanging garments, removing wrinkles from curtains or jackets.

■ Do not let cord touch hot surfaces.
■ To protect against a risk of electric hazards, do not immerse the iron in water or any other liquid.
■ The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
■ When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
■ The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
- Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is energized or cooling down.
■ This appliance can be used by children of 8 years and older and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user

maintenance must not be done by children without supervision.

■ The iron must not be left unattended while is connected to the supply mains.
■ Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging it from the electrical outlet.
■ The plug must be removed from the socket before the water reservoir is filled (for steam irons and irons incorporating means for spraying water).

From time to time, clean the exterior of the iron with a damp cloth and wipe dry.

If you use spray starch, wipe the soleplate occasionally with a soft damp cloth to prevent the build-up of deposits.

If the iron has not been used for a few weeks, hold the iron horizontally and allow to steam for 1 minute before ironing.
