■ Make sure the power used corresponds with that indicated on the rating label.
■ Use the iron only for needed use as described in the instruction manual.
■ Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
Do not leave the iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam.
■ Unplug the iron from the mains electrical supply before:
- Cleaning
- Filling with water or emptying the water tank
- Immediately after use
■ Never operate the iron with a damaged power cord or plug, or after it has fallen or been damaged in any way. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron; take it to a qualified serviceman for examination and repair.
■ Do not let cord touch hot surfaces.
■ To protect against a risk of electric hazards, do not immerse the iron in water or any other liquid.
■ The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
■ When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
■ The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
- Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is energized or cooling down.
■ This appliance can be used by children of 8 years and older and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance must not be done by children without supervision.
■ The iron must not be left unattended while is connected to the supply mains.
■ Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging it from the electrical outlet.
■ The plug must be removed from the socket before the water reservoir is filled (for steam irons and irons incorporating means for spraying water).
■ If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazard.
■ This appliance is for household use only.

Filling with water
Make sure that both the Steam Control Knob and Temperature Control Dial are in the "OFF" position.
Hold the iron upright so that the water-fi lling inlet is in a horizontal position. Fill with water through Water Filling Inlet until the water reaches the "MAX" mark indicated on the side of the iron, and never fi ll above this mark.
Note: Because of the soleplate design, ordinary tap water may be used with this iron. However, in very hard water areas, we recommend using distilled or demineralized water.

NOTE: Always refer to the garment care tag for ironing instructions. Before starting to iron delicate fabrics, it is best to first test the temperature of the iron on a hem or an inside seam.
Auto shut-off
The iron has an auto shut-off safety function which is designed to engage after approximately 5 minutes of non-use in the upright position.
The auto-shut off will activate if the iron rests in the horizontal position for approximately 30 seconds without use. The auto shut-off indicator light will flash when the auto shut-off has activated. To reset your iron and continue ironing follow these steps:
- Lift the iron.
- Holding the iron horizontally in front of you, gently rock it and forth several times. This motion will reset the safety switch inside the iron.

- Unplug the iron from the electrical outlet.
- Turn the iron upside down over the sink with the tip pointing downward and allow the water to flow from the inlet.
- Place iron upright and allow it to cool before storing.

Allow the iron to cool down.
Always store the iron in the upright position to protect the soleplate.
From time to time, clean the exterior of the iron with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
If you use spray starch, wipe the soleplate occasionally with a soft damp cloth to prevent the build-up of deposits.
If the iron has not been used for a few weeks, hold the iron horizontally and allow to steam for 1 minute before ironing.
Coil the cord loosely around the iron when storing.
