Frequently Asked Questions - Bullet IMOU
How to reset the Imou Bullet camera?
Press and hold the reset button (located on the camera) for about 10 seconds. The indicator light will show the restart. Refer to the Camera Introduction section of the manual for more details.
What to do if the app shows 'Network configuration failed'?
Make sure your router operates on the 2.4 GHz band (the camera does not support 5 GHz). Reset the camera and plug it back in, then try configuring again.
How to know if the camera is properly connected to the network?
Observe the indicator light: a solid green light indicates normal operation. A green flashing light means it is waiting for a connection. See the indicator light table in the manual.
Why is there no image in the app?
Check that the indicator light is solid green. Make sure the camera is properly powered with the supplied adapter. If the Wi-Fi signal is weak, move the camera closer to the router or remove obstacles.
The image is blurry, what to do?
Clean the lens with a soft, clean cloth. Check for dirt or cobwebs. If the problem persists, adjust the focus (if available) or reposition the camera.
How to enable audio on the camera?
In the Imou app, make sure the audio function is enabled in the camera settings. Also ensure that the volume on your smartphone or tablet is not muted.
What to do if the QR code cannot be read during installation?
Clean the lens of your smartphone's camera. Make sure the QR code is well lit and clear. Do not hold the phone too close to the camera; the ideal distance is about 20 cm.
The camera does not turn on, what to do?
Check that the power adapter is properly connected and the outlet works. Try a different USB cable if possible. If the indicator light does not turn on at all, contact technical support.
Can I use the camera without a subscription?
Yes, the Imou app is free and allows live viewing and alerts. Some advanced features (cloud storage) may require a subscription, but basic use is free.
