How to reset my TL-WPA8631P powerline adapter?

While the powerline adapter is powered on, press and hold the Reset button (using a pin inserted into the hole) until all LEDs turn off and then light up again. The reset is complete.

What should I do if I have no Internet access via my powerline network?

Check that all powerline adapters are on the same electrical circuit and that the Powerline LEDs are on. If necessary, re-pair the adapters. Make sure Ethernet connections are correct and that your Internet connection works by plugging a computer directly into the router.

Why won't my powerline extender reconnect after moving it?

Make sure all adapters are on the same electrical circuit. Re-pair the extender with another adapter. Avoid electromagnetic interference (e.g., dryer, air conditioner) near powerline devices.

How to copy Wi-Fi settings from my router to the powerline extender?

Plug the extender near the router. Press the WPS button on the router, then within 2 minutes, press the Wi-Fi button on the extender for 1 second. The Wi-Fi LEDs will blink and then stay on if copying is successful.

Can I use the powerline adapter with a power strip?

It is not recommended to plug the powerline adapter into a power strip. Plug it directly into a wall socket for better signal quality. If the adapter has a pass-through socket, you can plug the power strip into that.

How to pair a new powerline adapter to my existing network?

Press the Pair button on an already connected adapter for 1 second (its LED blinks). Within 2 minutes, press the Pair button on the new adapter for 1 second. The Powerline LED lights up when pairing is complete.

What does a blinking or red Powerline LED mean?

A blinking or red Powerline LED indicates poor signal quality. Move the extender or adapter to another socket to improve the connection.

What is the maximum range of the powerline network?

The range depends on the quality of the electrical wiring. In general, the powerline signal can travel up to 300 meters on the electrical circuit, but obstructions or interference may reduce this distance.

Is the powerline adapter compatible with all routers?

Yes, the powerline adapter is compatible with any router that has an Ethernet port. It works independently of the router, but the Wi-Fi cloning via WPS requires a WPS-compatible router.

How to manually configure Wi-Fi settings?

Log into the adapter's web interface (default IP address: 192.168.1.1) or use the tpPLC app. You can change the SSID, password, and other Wi-Fi settings from these interfaces.

1. Connect the adapter to a LAN port of your router using an Ethernet cable.
2. Plug the powerline devices into the wall outlets near each other and on the same electrical circuit.
3. Pair the powerline devices.

A. Press the Pair button on the powerline adapter for 1 second. The Power LED starts blinking.

* If the Power LED does not blink, press the Pair button again.

B. Within 2 minutes, press the Pair button on the powerline extender for 1 second. The Power LED ⏻ starts blinking. When the Powerline LED turns on, it's done.

1. Relocate the powerline extender to a new location. Connect to the Wi-Fi using the SSID and password on the product label.

* A blinking or red Powerline LED 🔒 indicates poor signal strength. Move the extender to another location.

Tips: You can add more powerline devices to the existing powerline network by pairing these devices.

Attention

- Plug the powerline devices directly into the wall outlets but not the power strips.

- For passthrough powerline devices, plug the power strips into the integrated electrical sockets of the powerline devices.

Copy Wi-Fi Settings from Router to Extender

If your router supports WPS, you can follow the steps below to automatically copy the router's Wi-Fi settings (SSID and password) to the powerline extender.

1. Plug in the powerline extender near your router. Press the WPS button on your router.
2. Within 2 minutes, press the Wi-Fi button on the extender for 1 second.
3. When the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi LED and 5GHz Wi-Fi LED on the extender blink quickly for 3 seconds, and then stay on, it's done!

* 5GHz Wi-Fi is not available on single-band products. For multiple-band products, the powerline extender copies by default both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless settings at the same time. If it fails to copy both, your router may be only able to clone one band at a time. Please check your router's manual for support.

Note: The wireless settings can also be configured through the powerline extender's web interface or through the tpPLC app. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play, or simply scan the QR code.
