Frequently Asked Questions - Pro 2000 Chilli 6798 OBH NORDICA

How do I correctly assemble the food processor?
To assemble, first mount the driving shaft on the motor part. Place the bowl on the motor part and turn clockwise until you hear a click. Insert the desired accessory onto the driving shaft, then place the lid on the bowl with the plastic rod to the right of the grip. Turn the lid clockwise until it clicks. The appliance will only start when both bowl and lid are correctly positioned.
Why won't my food processor start?
If the food processor does not start, check that the bowl and lid are correctly locked into place. Also, if the appliance has been running for too long or with too much load, the overheat protection may have been triggered. Unplug and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before restarting.
Can I immerse the motor part in water?
No, never immerse the motor part in water or any liquid. Clean it only with a damp cloth. The bowl and plastic parts are dishwasher safe, but the motor unit must be wiped clean.
What foods can I chop with the steel knife?
The steel knife is ideal for chopping chocolate, cheese, meat, spices, fruits, and vegetables such as onions. Cut ingredients into 3 cm cubes for best results. Use pulse for coarse chopping or setting 2 for finer chopping.
How do I use the pulse function?
Turn the speed selector to the "Pulse" position (moment). The food processor will only run while you hold the selector in that position. Release to stop. This gives you short bursts of power, ideal for controlling the texture of your ingredients.
Can I wash the plastic parts in the dishwasher?
Yes, all plastic parts such as the bowl, lid, pusher, and disc holder are dishwasher safe. However, the motor part must not be placed in the dishwasher. The knife and discs should be hand washed with warm soapy water due to sharp edges.
What is the maximum capacity of the bowl?
The bowl has a maximum capacity of 2.0 litres, but to avoid overfilling and ensure proper operation, do not exceed 1.2 litres of ingredients. This is especially important for certain tasks like kneading dough.
How should I clean the blades and discs?
The blades and cutting discs are very sharp. Rinse them under warm water with washing-up liquid and wipe carefully. Use a soft brush for any congealed remains after soaking. Always handle with care to avoid cuts.
What does the overheat protection do?
If the motor runs too long or is overloaded, the overheat protection automatically shuts off the appliance to prevent damage. If this happens, unplug the food processor and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before using again.
How do I use the plastic kneading/mixing knife?
Mount the plastic knife on the driving shaft after positioning the bowl. Use setting 2 for kneading dough or mixing. The typical time is 30-180 seconds. If the speed slows, add a little water. Hold the lid with one hand while operating. The maximum flour capacity is about 600g.

How to use the food processor

The food processor can be used to blend, chop, grate, carve and mix food.

The motor of the food processor drives the cutting blades at high speed to ensure a good and homogeneous result. Consequently, it is important always to place the appliance on an even and dry surface before use.

Make sure that the bowl and lid are correctly positioned on the motor part. If not, the food processor cannot start. To position the bowl correctly, mount the driving shaft on the motor part. Put the bowl on the motor part and turn the handle of the bowl clockwise. You will hear a click when the bowl has been properly engaged. Mount the wanted accessory (see section "Mounting of accessories"). Put the lid on the bowl. The plastic rod on the outer side of the lid shall be to the right of the grip of the bowl. Turn the lid clockwise. The lid has been correctly positioned when you hear a click. Please note that the appliance cannot be started until the bowl and the lid have been correctly positioned.

Always be sure that there are ingredients in the bowl before starting the food processor.

The maximum capacity of the bowl is 2.0 L, but in order to be sure that the bowl is not overfilled, the amount should be max 1.2 L. When preparing certain kinds of food, the capacity will be less. As to details of maximum quantities, please see the table in section "Quantities and guiding times of preparation". Use the measurement scale on the bowl as an indication.

When the bowl and the lid have been correctly positioned, the food processor is ready for use. Check that the speed selector is at position "0" and then plug the appliance in the mains supply. Turn the speed selector to the wanted speed for a few seconds. Then turn it back to "0" and see whether you get the result you want. The process is very fast, so do not work too long at a time. Take off the lid by grabbing the hopper and turn counter-clockwise to remove the lid.

Use the function “Pulse” (moment) for short intervals. Keep the contact in that position to make the food processor work. As soon as the button is released, the food processor will stop.

Mounting of accessories

All accessories shall be mounted on the driving shaft in the centre of the bowl. Mount the driving shaft on the motor part. Be sure to position the bowl correctly.

Knife (steel) (11)

Remove the cover. Please note that the knife is extremely sharp, so please do not touch the blades! Mount the knife in the bowl on the driving shaft by pressing the accessory holder until it is locked onto the driving shaft and then remount the knife. Put on the lid as previously described. Set the speed selector at "2". The total operation time should not exceed 1 minute.

After use, turn the speed selector back to "O". Remove the knife and the accessory holder from the driving shaft by lifting the knife off the accessory holder and pull the accessory holder. Then remove the bowl from the motor part by turning it counter-clockwise.

Use the "Pulse" function to avoid that the ingredients are too finely chopped.

Normal cooking time is about 30-60 seconds.

The steel knife is used to chop chocolate, cheese, meat, spices, fruit, and vegetables (e.g. onions).

Kneading and mixing knife (12)

Put the bowl on the motor part and mount the plastic knife on the driving shaft by pressing down the accessory holder until it locks onto the driving shaft and then mount the knife. Put the lid on the bowl as previously described. Set the speed selector at "2". Normal cooking time is about 30-180 seconds.

NOTE: Add water if the speed is slowing down or the food processor stops during use in order to avoid that the motor is damaged. Hold on to the lid with one hand during kneading/mixing and hold on to the grip at the same with the other hand. The kneading/mixing takes about 30-180 seconds.

After use, set the speed selector back to "0". Remove the knife and the accessory holder from the driving shaft by first lifting the knife out of the accessory holder and then pull the accessory holder. Now remove the bowl from the motor part by turning it counter-clockwise.

Whisk (13)

Mount the whisk by first positioning the accessory holder on the driving shaft. Then mount the whisk on the accessory holder. Mount the lid as previously described. Set the speed selector at "1" or "2".

The whisk is for whipping egg whites, cream etc.

Disc for grating, carving and French fry cutting (7, 8, 9,10)

Mount the bowl and the driving shaft on the food processor. Then choose the wanted disc. Mount the disc in the disc holder (7) with the cutting blade facing upwards and place the disc holder on the driving shaft. Position the lid on the disc and turn the lid clockwise until it engages. Set the speed selector at "1" or "2".

The grating and carving disc can be used for cutting potatoes, onions, cucumbers, roots, apples, and carrots etc.

Pusher (6)

Always use the pusher to push firm ingredients into the hopper. NEVER use your fingers, a spatula or utensils other than the delivered pusher for this purpose. Liquid and small ingredients can advantageously be added via the hopper.
