How do I prime the pump?

Unscrew the water filler screw (2) and remove the coarse filter (8) along with the non-return valve (9). Fill the pump housing with water, then reassemble in reverse order. Ensure all shut-off devices in the pressure line are fully open during priming. Priming may take between 30 seconds and 5 minutes depending on suction conditions.

What should I do if the motor does not start?

Check the mains voltage. If the rotor is blocked, dismantle and clean the pump. The thermostat may have switched off due to overheating; allow it to cool and restart. Ensure the power cable is properly connected.

How do I clean the coarse filter?

Disconnect the pump from the power supply. Remove the coarse filter screw and withdraw the coarse filter together with the non-return valve. Clean the filter by tapping it on a flat surface or using soapy water for stubborn dirt. Rinse with clear water, air-dry, and reassemble.

Can I pump hot water?

No, the maximum water temperature is 35°C. Do not pump fluids above this temperature or any inflammable, gassing, explosive, aggressive, or abrasive liquids.

What does the LED indicator mean?

Yellow Power ON: power connected. Yellow + Green Pump ON: pump running, medium being drawn. Yellow + Green + Red Failure: pump running dry (tries to restore flow for ~30s). Yellow + Red Failure: dry run protection triggered; motor off. Yellow blinking: pump building pressure and will auto-off (e.g., tap closed).

How do I store the pump for winter?

Rinse the pump with water, empty it completely, and allow it to dry. Store in a dark, dry place above freezing (ideal 5-30°C). Ensure the pump is fully drained to prevent frost damage. For long stoppages, briefly switch on/off to check rotor movement.

What is the warranty period?

The guarantee is valid for 2 years from the purchase date. Claims must be submitted before the end of the guarantee period and within two weeks of noticing the defect. Register defective equipment at www.Einhell-Service.com with proof of purchase.

Why is the pump not drawing water?

Possible causes: intake valve not submerged, pump chamber lacks water, air in intake line, leaking intake valve, blocked strainer, or exceeded max suction height (8 m). Check and rectify each: immerse valve, fill water, ensure airtight connections, clean strainer, lower intake depth.

Can I use this pump for drinking water?

No, the Einhell GC-AW 6033 is not designed for conveying drinking water. It is intended for irrigation, lawn sprinklers, and drawing clear water from ponds, streams, or rainwater butts.

What should I do if the pump becomes clogged?

Disconnect the power. Connect the discharge line to the water line and disconnect the suction hose. Open the water line. Switch on the equipment several times for about two seconds. This should clear most clogs. If not, clean the coarse filter and check for blockages.

3. Proper use

Applications

• Irrigation and watering of green areas, vegetable beds and gardens.
  • Operation of lawn sprinklers.
• For drawing water from ponds, streams, rainwater butts, rainwater cisterns and springs
  • For supplying service water

Transport media:

• For the pumping of clear water (fresh water), rainwater or light suds/service water.
• The maximum temperature of the fluid must not exceed +35°C if the equipment is operated permanently.
• Do not use the equipment to pump inflammable, gassing or explosive fluids.
• The pumping of aggressive liquids (acids, alkalis, silo seepage etc.) as well as liquids with abrasive substances (sand) must likewise be avoided.

- This equipment is not designed to convey drinking water.

The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of this.

5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make sure that the data on the rating plate are identical to the mains data.

As a basic principle, we recommend the use of a preliminary filter and a suction set with suction hose, intake cage and non-return valve, in order to prevent long priming periods and unnecessary damage to the pump as a result of stones and solid foreign bodies.

5.1 Connecting the intake line

- Fasten the suction hose (at least approx. 19 mm (3/4") plastic hose with spiral reinforcement) to the suction connection (1) approx. 42 mm (R1¼ male thread) of the equipment either directly or via a threaded nipple.

• The suction hose used should be equipped

with an intake valve. If the intake valve cannot be used, a non-return valve should be installed in the intake line.

• Position the intake line so that it rises from the water withdrawal point to the equipment. Avoid positioning the intake line higher than the pump, as this would delay the escape of air bubbles from the intake line and impede the priming process.
  • Install the intake and discharge lines in such a way that they do not exert any mechanical pressure on the equipment.
• The intake valve should be low enough in the water to ensure that if the water level falls, the unit will not run dry.
• A leaking intake line will draw in air and therefore not draw in any water.
• Prevent the intake of foreign bodies (sand, etc.). If necessary, install a coarse filter for this purpose.

5.2 Connecting the discharge line

• The discharge line (min. 19 mm ( ^3/4 ")) must be connected to the 33.3 mm (R11G) female thread discharge line connector of the equipment (3) either directly or with the aid of a threaded nipple.
• With the right couplings it is also possible, of course, to use a 13 mm ( 12 ) delivery hose. The smaller delivery hose results in a lower delivery rate.
• During the priming operation, fully open any shut-off mechanisms (spray nozzles, valves, etc.) in the pressure line so that the air can escape without obstruction.

5.3 Electrical connections

• Connect the appliance to a 230 V \~ 50 Hz socket-outlet with earthing contact. Minimum fuse 10 ampere.
• A built-in thermostat protects the motor from overloading and blocking. The pump is switched off automatically by the thermostat if overheating occurs and is switched on again automatically after cooling.

6. Operation

• Set up the pump on flat and firm ground.
• Attach the intake line ready for use.
• Unscrew the water filler screw (2) and remove the coarse filter (8) together with the non-return valve (9) as shown in Figure 2. Now you can fill the pump housing with water. Filling the intake line accelerates the priming process.
  • Assemble in reverse order.
• Plug into the mains.
  • Press the ON switch (5)
• All shut-off devices in the pressure line (spray nozzles, valves etc.) must be fully opened when priming so that any air in the intake line can escape.
• Depending on the suction height and the amount of air in the intake line, priming can take anywhere between 30 seconds and 5 minutes. If it takes longer than this, the pump should be refilled with water.
• If the pump is removed again after use, it must always be refilled with water whenever it is connected up and used again.

Operating the flow switch:

The operating mode is indicated by the LEDs.

Yellow Power ON is lit:

The power cable is connected.

Yellow Power ON and Green Pump ON are lit: The pump is in operation and starts up immediately; a consumer for drawing off medium is open.

Yellow Power ON, Green Pump ON and Red Failure are lit:

The pump is running dry without any medium. For approx. 30 seconds the pump will try to restore the flow.

Yellow Power ON and Red Failure are lit:

After approx. seconds without any flow the motor will switch off.

The dry running guard has tripped; it is no longer possible to draw in the medium. Use the pump's operating manual to fi nd the cause of the fault (e.g. a leaking intake line) and rectify it. Then re-start the pump by pressing the ON button (5) on the fl ow switch.

Yellow Power ON is blinking:

The pump is building up pressure (e.g. a water tap is closed) and then switches off automatically.

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger!

If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

8. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

The equipment is almost completely maintenance free. In order to ensure a long service life, however, we recommend that you regularly check and care for the product.

Danger!

The equipment must be disconnected from the power supply (pull the power plug) prior to performing any maintenance.

8.1 Servicing

• If the equipment becomes clogged, connect the discharge line to the water line and disconnect the suction hose. Open the water line. Switch on the equipment several times for approx. two seconds. This should resolve the majority of clog-related problems.
• There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

8.2 Cleaning the coarse fi Iter insert (Fig. 3-4)

• Clean the coarse filter insert at regular intervals, and replace it if necessary.
• Remove the coarse filter screw and coarse filter together with the non-return valve.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or petrol to clean the coarse filter and the non-return valve.
• Clean the coarse filter and the non-return valve by tapping them on a flat surface. In cases of stubborn dirt, first clean with soapy water, then rinse with clear water and air-dry.
  • Assemble in reverse order.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.

10. Storage

• Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.
• If the pump is not going to be used for a long time or has to be removed for the winter months, rinse it out with water, empty it completely and allow it to dry.
• The equipment must be completely drained before it is subjected to frost.
• After long stoppages, make sure the rotor turns correctly by briefly switching the pump on and off.

Damage to the equipment caused by misuse or incorrect applications (e.g. overloading the equipment or using non-approved attachments or accessories); damage caused by foreign bodies (e.g. sand, stones, dust, ....) getting inside the equipment. Damage in transit; damage caused by force or external influences (e.g. by dropping the equipment).

6. Damage to the equipment or parts of the equipment which is owed to use-related, normal or otherwise natural wear. For example, batteries and battery packs are manufactured with a cycle limit for design-related reasons. Wear is negatively influenced in particular by load demands and charging speeds as well as exposure to heat, cold, vibration and impact.

7. The guarantee is valid for a period of 2 years starting from the purchase date of the equipment. Guarantee claims must be submitted before the end of the guarantee period and within two weeks of the defect being noticed. No guarantee claims will be accepted after the end of the guarantee period. The original guarantee period remains applicable to the equipment even if repairs are carried out or parts are replaced. In such cases, the work performed or parts fitted will not result in an extension of the guarantee period, and no new guarantee will become active for the work performed or for any replacement parts fitted. This also applies if on-site service is used.

8. To assert your guarantee claim, register the defective equipment at: www.Einhell-Service.com. You will need to provide proof of purchase of the new item of equipment. Equipment returned without such proof or without a rating plate are excluded from the guarantee services because of the lack of traceability. If the defect is covered by our guarantee, then either the item in question will be repaired immediately and returned to you or we will send you a new replacement.

9. If you have taken the equipment with you to a different EU country than where you bought it, we will arrange for a local service partner to provide the guarantee services. If you take the equipment outside the EU, the guarantee will not apply.
