How do I prime the pump for first use?

Remove the ventilation screw and unscrew the coarse filter screw with the supplied wrench. Remove the coarse filter and non-return valve, then fill the pump housing with water via the coarse filter opening. Reassemble everything, open the discharge line, and connect to power. The pump will start priming automatically.

What do the LED indicators mean?

- Green + Yellow lit: pump is running and water is being drawn. - Green + Red lit: pump is building pressure (e.g., tap closed) and will shut off automatically. - Green lit, Red flashing: dry run protection tripped; pump has attempted 3 times to eliminate dry running. Press the Reset button after fixing the cause.

What should I do if the pump runs dry?

The pump's dry run protection makes 3 priming attempts. If it fails, the LED shows green with red flashing. Check for leaks in the suction line, ensure the intake valve is submerged, and fill the pump with water again. Then press the Reset button.

How do I clean the coarse filter?

Disconnect power. Remove the coarse filter screw (4) and take out the coarse filter (12) with non-return valve (13). Tap it on a flat surface; for stubborn dirt, wash with soapy water, rinse, and air-dry. Reassemble in reverse order.

Can I use this pump for drinking water?

No. The pump is not designed for drinking water. It is intended for clear water, rainwater, or light suds only.

What is the maximum suction height?

The maximum suction height is 8 meters. Ensure the intake line rises continuously from the water source to the pump to avoid air locks.

How do I store the pump in winter?

Rinse the pump with clean water, drain it completely, and let it dry. Store in a frost-free place above freezing (5-30 °C). Remove all water from the pump housing to prevent frost damage.

What type of suction hose should I use?

Use a min. 19 mm (3/4 inch) plastic hose with spiral reinforcement. Connect it to the suction connection (approx. 42 mm) using the provided adapter if needed. Always fit an intake valve or non-return valve.

Why is the pump not delivering water even though the motor runs?

Possible causes: intake valve not submerged, air in suction line, leaking connections, blocked strainer, or maximum suction height exceeded. Check the intake pressure gauge: if it stays at 0, the issue is on the suction side.

What spare parts are available for this model?

3. Proper use

Applications

• Irrigation and watering of green areas, vegetable beds and gardens.
  • Operation of lawn sprinklers.
• For drawing water from ponds, streams, rainwater butts, rainwater cisterns and springs
  • For supplying service water

Transport media:

• For the pumping of clear water (fresh water), rainwater or light suds/service water.
• The maximum temperature of the fluid must not exceed +35°C if the equipment is operated permanently.
• Do not use the equipment to pump inflammable, gassing or explosive fluids.
• The pumping of aggressive liquids (acids, alkalis, silo seepage etc.) as well as liquids with abrasive substances (sand) must likewise be avoided.
• This equipment is not designed to convey drinking water.

The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of this.

Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the machine is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.

5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make sure that the data on the rating plate are identical to the mains data.

As a basic principle, we recommend the use of a preliminary filter and a suction set with suction hose, intake cage and non-return valve, in order to prevent long priming periods and unnecessary damage to the pump as a result of stones and solid foreign bodies.

5.1 Connecting the intake line

• Fasten the suction hose (at least approx. 19 mm ( 3/4" ) plastic hose with spiral reinforcement) to the suction connection approx. 42 mm (R1 1/4 AG) of the equipment either directly or via a threaded nipple.
• Use the connection adapter (11) to reduce the thread of the suction connection to approx. 33.3 mm (R1 male thread).
• The suction hose used should be equipped with an intake valve. If the intake valve cannot be used, a non-return valve should be installed in the intake line.
• Position the intake line so that it rises from the water withdrawal point to the equipment. Avoid positioning the intake line higher than the pump, as this would delay the escape of air bubbles from the intake line and impede the priming process.
  • Install the intake and discharge lines in such a way that they do not exert any mechanical

pressure on the equipment.

• The intake valve should be low enough in the water to ensure that if the water level falls, the unit will not run dry.
• A leaking intake line will draw in air and therefore not draw in any water.
• Prevent the intake of foreign bodies (sand, etc.). If necessary, install a coarse filter for this purpose.

5.2 Connecting the discharge line

• The discharge line (min. 19 mm ( ^34 ")) must be connected to the 33.3 mm (R11G) female thread discharge line connector of the equipment either directly or with the aid of a threaded nipple.
• With the right couplings it is also possible, of course, to use a 13 mm ( 12 “) delivery hose. The smaller delivery hose results in a lower delivery rate.
• During the priming operation, fully open any shut-off mechanisms (spray nozzles, valves, etc.) in the pressure line so that the air can escape without obstruction.

5.3 Electrical connections

• Connect the appliance to a 220-240 V \~ 50 Hz socket-outlet with earthing contact. Minimum fuse 10 ampere.
• A built-in thermostat protects the motor from overloading and blocking. The pump is switched off automatically by the thermostat if overheating occurs and is switched on again automatically after cooling.

6. Operation

6.1 Using for the first time

• Install the equipment on a solid and level surface.
- Remove the ventilation screw (6).
- Unscrew the coarse filter screw (4) using the supplied wrench (10) and remove the coarse filter (12) together with the non-return valve (13) as shown in Figure 3. Now you can fill the pump housing with water via the coarse filter screw (4). Filling the intake line accelerates the intake process.
• Assemble in reverse order.
- Open the discharge line.
- Connect the mains cable
• The priming operation starts automatically.
• After finishing the work, pull out the power

plug of the equipment.

6.2 LED indicator and flow switch

The flow switch cannot be adjusted or switched, it is fully automatic. There are only 3 LEDs which indicate its operating status. (Figure 4)

Green and yellow are lit:

The pump is in operation and starts up immediately; a consumer for drawing off transport fluid is open.

Green and red are lit:

1. The pump is building up pressure (e.g. a water tap is closed) and then switches off automatically.
2. The pump is running dry without transport fluid. The flow switch will make 3 attempts to eliminate the dry running before the dry running guard fi nally trips.

Green is lit, red is fl ashing:

The dry running guard has tripped; it is no longer possible to draw in the transport fluid. Use the pump's operating manual to find the cause of the fault (e.g. a leaking intake line) and rectify it. Then restart the pump by pressing the Reset button on the flow switch.

6.3 Intake pressure gauge

If the pump has been started up correctly, it will pump water and the indicator on the intake pressure gauge in the coarse fi liter screw (4) will rise to the applicable suction height. During operation the current suction height can be read off the intake pressure gauge (4). (Figure 5) If the pump fails to pump any water when a priming attempt is made and the value on the intake pressure gauge stagnates or stays at 0 m, this means that there is a problem on the intake side. Check all connections and the suction hose for possible leaks. Filling the pump with water can help the priming attempt. As a basic principle, we recommend the use of a suction set with suction hose, intake cage and non-return valve.

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger!

If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

8. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

The equipment is almost completely maintenance free. In order to ensure a long service life, however, we recommend that you regularly check and care for the product.

Danger!

The equipment must be disconnected from the power supply (pull the power plug) prior to performing any maintenance.

8.1 Servicing

• If the equipment becomes clogged, connect the discharge line to the water line and disconnect the suction hose. Open the water line. Switch on the equipment several times for approx. two seconds. This should resolve the majority of clog-related problems.
• There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

8.2 Cleaning the coarse fi iter insert

• Clean the coarse filter insert at regular intervals, and replace it if necessary.
• Remove the coarse filter screw (4) and coarse filter (12) together with the non-return valve (13) (Figure 3).
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or petrol to clean the coarse filter and the non-return valve.
• Clean the coarse filter and the non-return valve by tapping them on a flat surface. In cases of stubborn dirt, first clean with soapy water, then rinse with clear water and air-dry.
  • Assemble in reverse order.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.

10. Storage

• Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30 °C. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.
• If the pump is not going to be used for a long time or has to be removed for the winter months, rinse it out with water, empty it completely and allow it to dry.
  • The equipment must be completely drained before it is subjected to frost.
• After long stoppages, make sure the rotor turns correctly by briefly switching the pump on and off.

These guarantee terms regulate additional guarantee services which the undermentioned manufacturer promises to buyers of its new products in addition to their statutory rights of guarantee. The guarantee services cover only defects due to material or manufacturing faults on the new product which you have bought in the European Union from the undermentioned manufacturer and are limited to either the rectification of said defects or the replacement of the product, whichever we prefer. Damage to the equipment caused by misuse or incorrect applications (e.g. overloading the equipment or using non-approved attachments or accessories); damage caused by foreign bodies (e.g. sand, stones, dust, ....) getting inside the equipment. Damage in transit; damage caused by force or external influences (e.g. by dropping the equipment).

6. Damage to the equipment or parts of the equipment which is owed to use-related, normal or otherwise natural wear. For example, batteries and battery packs are manufactured with a cycle limit for design-related reasons. Wear is negatively influenced in particular by load demands and charging speeds as well as exposure to heat, cold, vibration and impact.

7. The guarantee is valid for a period of 2 years starting from the purchase date of the equipment. Guarantee claims must be submitted before the end of the guarantee period and within two weeks of the defect being noticed. No guarantee claims will be accepted after the end of the guarantee period. The original guarantee period remains applicable to the equipment even if repairs are carried out or parts are replaced. In such cases, the work performed or parts fitted will not result in an extension of the guarantee period, and no new guarantee will become active for the work performed or for any replacement parts fitted. This also applies if on-site service is used.

8. To assert your guarantee claim, register the defective equipment at: www.Einhell-Service.com. You will need to provide proof of purchase of the new item of equipment. Equipment returned without such proof or without a rating plate are excluded from the guarantee services because of the lack of traceability. If the defect is covered by our guarantee, then either the item in question will be repaired immediately and returned to you or we will send you a new replacement.

9. If you have taken the equipment with you to a different EU country than where you bought it, we will arrange for a local service partner to provide the guarantee services. If you take the equipment outside the EU, the guarantee will not apply.

Of course, we are also happy to offer a chargeable repair service for any defects which are not covered or no longer covered by the scope of this guarantee.
