Frequently Asked Questions - ColumbiaVac KC100 Eldom

How do I clean the filter?
Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the filter grille, take out the washable pre-filter, and clean it with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. Repeat every 2 weeks for optimal performance.
How to set the timer?
Press the Timer button on the remote control or control panel. Use the + and - buttons to set the desired hours (1-24). The timer can be used to turn the unit on or off automatically. Confirm by pressing the Timer button again.
What does the error code E1 mean?
Error code E1 indicates a malfunction of the room temperature sensor. Try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes and restarting. If the error persists, contact Eldom customer service.
How to drain condensate?
The ColumbiaVac KC100 is self-evaporating in most conditions. However, in high humidity, you may need to drain manually. Locate the drain plug at the back, place a pan underneath, remove the plug to let water out. Alternatively, attach a continuous drain hose (not included) for automatic drainage.
Can I use it in a room without windows?
No, the exhaust hose must be vented outside through a window or wall opening. Without proper ventilation, the unit will not cool effectively and may overheat. Use the included window kit to seal the opening.
What is the recommended room size?
This model is suitable for rooms up to approximately 25 m² (270 sq ft). For larger rooms, cooling performance may be reduced. Consider using multiple units or a higher capacity model.
Is the remote control included?
Yes, a remote control is included with the ColumbiaVac KC100. It allows you to adjust temperature, fan speed, timer, and mode from a distance. Remember to keep it within range and replace batteries when needed.
How to install the exhaust hose?
Connect the exhaust hose to the back of the unit. Insert the other end into the window kit adapter. Adjust the window kit to fit your window opening and close the window to secure it. Keep the hose as short and straight as possible for best efficiency.
Why is the unit not cooling?
Check if the filter is dirty (clean it), ensure the exhaust hose is not blocked or kinked, and verify that the window kit is properly sealed. Also, confirm the unit is set to Cool mode and the temperature is lower than the room temperature. If still not cooling, the refrigerant may need service.
How to store the air conditioner in winter?
First, run the unit in Fan mode for a few hours to dry out the internal moisture. Unplug and clean the filter. Drain any residual water from the condensate drain. Disconnect the exhaust hose and window kit. Store the unit in a dry, dust-free place away from direct sunlight. Cover it to prevent dust accumulation.
