Frequently Asked Questions - PHAF 2000 Philco

Can I preheat the air fryer?
The manual does not specify a preheat function, but for optimal results with French fries, it suggests preheating the pot before frying. You can run the air fryer empty at a desired temperature for a few minutes.
What does error code E01 mean?
Error E01 indicates an open circuit in the NTC (temperature sensor). This may be due to a loose or disconnected connection. Please contact professional after-sales service for repair.
Can I use oil in the air fryer?
Yes, you can use a small amount of oil. However, cooking greasy foods may produce white smoke, which is normal. The manual recommends using minimal oil for best results.
How do I clean the air fryer?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool for at least 10 minutes. Clean the frying pot and rack with hot water, dishwashing liquid, and a non-abrasive sponge. Wipe the exterior with a soft damp cloth. Do not immerse the body or power cord in water.
Why are my French fries not crispy?
Ensure the fries are dry before cooking and not cut too thick. You can also preheat the pot before frying. Adjust the cooking time and temperature as needed according to the manual's menu recommendations.
Why is white smoke coming out of the air fryer?
White smoke is normal when cooking greasy foods as oil oozes out and reaches high temperature. It can also occur if residual oil is left from previous use. Ensure the pot is cleaned before and after each use.
How do I manually set the temperature and time?
After selecting a menu function, press the "%" button. Then press the "3/6" button to adjust temperature (flickering °C icon) using "-" and "+" buttons. To adjust time, press the "/" button (flickering MIN icon) and adjust with "-" and "+". Temperature changes by 5°C per press, time by 1 minute.
What is the pause function?
During cooking, you can pull out the frying pot to pause the operation. The appliance enters pause state, and only the power button remains operable. When you reinsert the pot, cooking resumes automatically. If no operation for over 10 minutes, it returns to power-up state.
Can I cook different foods together?
You can cook different foods together, but ensure they do not exceed the maximum fill level (4/5 of the pot) and allow space for air circulation. Some foods may require different cooking times, so it's best to add items at appropriate intervals.
How do I defrost food in the air fryer?
Select the DEFROST preset menu. The default temperature is 80°C and time is 10 minutes. You can adjust temperature between 70-90°C and time from 1-60 minutes as needed. Ensure the food is placed on the rack and the pot is properly inserted.
