General Power Tool Safety Warnings

WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference!
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool
or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control..
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Special Safety Instructions for Drills
- Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with the tool. Loss of control can cause personal injury.
- Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
Noise and Vibration Information
Noise Level
Values were measured in accordance with EN 60745.
Acoustic pressure level L_nA = 87 dB (A).
Measurement inaccuracy K = 1.5 dB (A).

ATTENTION! Working with the device makes noise! Use ear protection!
Vibrations
Weighted value of vibrations affecting the hands and arms a_h = 0.81 m/s^2 .
Measurement inaccuracy K = 1.5 m/s ^4 .
The vibrations and noise level values mentioned here were measured in accordance with the testing conditions stipulated by EN 60745 used for comparing tools. They are also suitable as a preliminary assessment of vibration and noise load before using the device.
The noise levels and vibration values mentioned apply to the main use of the electrical device. Using the electrical device for other purposes than intended, or insufficient maintenance may lead to a significant increase in noise level or vibration load during work.
To accurately assess the values during a predetermined work time, it is also necessary to take into account how long the device has been idle or how long the device has been turned off for during this time. This may significantly reduce the load during the entire work period.
Use
The machine is designed exclusively for drilling magnetic and non-magnetic metals up to the maximum dimensions stated in the technical parameters.
The user bears full responsibility for the consequences of unintended use.
Putting the Device into Operation and Use
Improper use may cause damage to the tool. Therefore, follow these instructions:
- Always use sharp drill bits.
- Do not subject the tool to loads that would cause a large drop in speed or stall the machine.
Check that the information on the production label matches the real voltage of the power source. Check that the type of plug corresponds to the type of socket. Tools designed for 230 V can also be connected to 220/240 V.

Attention! Risk of injury by electric current. Unplug the device from the power socket before making any adjustments (such as mounting or removnd grips, replacing drill bits, etc.)!
Tool Fastening
Core Drill Bit (1)
- Make sure the tool shank and the fastening hole in the spindle are clean, free of shavings, sediments and so on.
- Insert the corresponding centre point (17) into the core drill bit (1).
- Loosen the fastening bolt (2b) on the machine spindle (2a) using the hexagonal key (18), fit the shank of the core drill bit (1) into the spindle and tighten the fastening bolt (2b).
Spiral Drill Bit with Cylindrical Head
- To fasten a spiral drill bit, take a drill chuck and mount it onto an adapter (optional accessory); then, take the assembled set and fasten it into the spindle (2a).
Tap
- Fasten the tap using the corresponding adapter (optional accessory).
Removing a Tool
- Loosen the bolt (2b) on the spindle (2a) and slide the tool down
Coolant Doser (15)
- Fit the coolant tank onto the hanger (13).
- Fit the coolant tube onto the machine's coolant inlet (12) using the rapid coupling (14).
Using the Machine – Drilling
Place the machine where it is needed. Follow the work procedure below.
- Turn on the magnet using the switch (11) - the indicator in the switch will light up. Try pulling at the handgrip (5) to check whether the machine holds firm on the base material!
- Choose a suitable speed using the speed switch (20) on the side of the gearbox (3) and the regulator (22). Symbol (◀) for first gear, symbol (◀) for second gear.
- Open the valve (16) on the coolant tube. (For drilling in a vertical position.)
- Turn on the machine using the switch (11).
- Move the drill bit along the work piece using the lever.
In core drill bits, the centre point (17) also functions as a trigger for the cooling system. Once the centre point rests against the material, it's possible to start dosing the coolant from the tank.
Changing Rotation Direction
Use the rotation direction switch (21) to switch between right and left spindle rotation. The rotation direction can be set before work or during work while the drill is in operation. The switch has a central switch-off position, so that each time the rotation direction is changed it turns off the motor; it must be restarted using the motor switch (10). If you change the rotation direction while the machine is running, always allow the spindle to come to a stop before restarting the motor.
Electronics
Protection against Accidental Starts
For safety reasons, the machine is equipped with protection against accidental starts. If the magnet is turned off, either with the switch or due to a power failure, the motor must be restarted after the magnet is turned on again.
Protection against Overheating
The machine is fitted with a temperature sensor. Should the machine overheat, it automatically turns off.
If that is the case, remove anything that may prevent smooth spindle rotation, such as shavings, a jammed drill bit and so on. Turn the machine on again and let it run idle for at least two minutes.
User Manual
Magnet
The holding force of the magnet depends on the properties of the base material. If the surface is painted, galvanised, uneven or rusted, the magnet may not be as efficient.
In order for the magnet to work at its best, the following conditions must be met:
The base material must be magnetic!
- The base material and the magnet must be clean, free of grease or other dirt.
The base material must be level!
- The magnet works best on low-carbon steels with a thickness of at least 20 mm. When drilling into thinner material, an additional steel plate with dimensions of at least 100×200×20 mm must be fastened below the machined material.
Drilling non-magnetic materials is possible only using additional fastening devices!

Attention! Always use the safety belt (19) when working in positions other than vertical. The machine could fall in the event of a power failure or
other circumstances when the magnet comes loose. Pass the safety belt (19) through the machine's handgrip (5) in a way that prevents it from slipping!
Cooling
Always use a sufficient amount of coolant, such as CIMTAP cutting paste diluted with water at a ratio of 1:4. Work with the coolant tank (15) installed. The coolant is conducted through an internal distribution system all the way to the work piece.

Attention! When drilling vertically upwards, the coolant cannot be dosed using the coolant doser (15). The work piece and the drill bit must be
treated with undiluted CIMTAP cutting paste or a suitable cutting oil in spray form before and during drilling.
Drilling
Drilling with core drill bits (1) does not require a high traverse force. Increasing the pressure on the traverse lever will not speed up work, but increases the wear on the tool and over-stresses the machine.

Attention! Do not use gloves when drilling. The gloves could snag on the drill bit!
Do not remove shavings while drilling! Wait until the machine comes to a halt after turning it off. Use gloves when removing shavings!
Threading
- Set the machine in position and drill a hole for a thread.
- With the machine turned off, set the machine to first gear and use the speed regulator (22) to set the lowest possible speed.
- Fasten a tap and switch rotation to the right using the rotation direction switch (21).
- Turn on the machine and use the lever (6) to guide the tool into the pre-drilled hole until you achieve the desired thread length.
- Turn off the machine and use the switch (21) to change rotation direction to the left.
- Turn on the machine and let the tool fully screw out of the thread, then elevate the tool even further using the lever (6) to avoid damaging the start of the thread.

Attention! When working on a ladder, scaffold and so on, the operator must be secured against falling. A power failure may result in the machine swaying and causing the operator to fall!
Maintenance and Service

Attention! Risk of injury by electric current. Unplug the device from the power socket before making any adjustments (such as mounting or removing hand grips, replacing drill bits, etc.)!
☐ The air holes on the housing of the motor must not clogged or covered.
☐ The following procedures must be carried out after proximately 200 hours of operation:
- Checking brush length. Brushes shorter than 5 mm must be replaced with new ones.
- Changing lubricating grease in the gearbox and bearings.

Attention! With the principles of protection against injury by electric current and the protection rating of the device in mind, all maintenance and service work that requires the removal of the machine's casing must be done only by an authorised service centre!

Storage
If stored packaged, the device can be stored in a dry store-house without heating if the temperature inside does not drop below -5 °C.
If stored unpackaged, the device can only be stored in a dry storehouse where the temperature does not drop below +5 °C and where there aren't any sudden changes in the temperature.
Recycling
Electrical tools, accessories and packaging should all be submitted for reuse to prevent environmental damage.
EU countries only:
Do not put electrical tools into household waste!
In accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment and the directive's enforcement in national laws, unusable electrical tools must be collected for reuse/recycling/recovery to prevent environmental damage.
Warranty
Our devices come with a warranty for material or production defects in accordance with the legal regulations of the given country, for a period no shorter than 12 months. In EU countries, the warranty period is 24 months for exclusively private use (proven by an invoice or bill of delivery).
Damage caused by natural wear and tear, overloading, improper handling, damage caused by the user or by use contrary to the operating manual, or damage known already at the time of purchase is excluded from the warranty.
Complaints can be accepted only if the device is sent back to the supplier or a NAREX authorised service centre in a non-disassembled state. Store and keep the operating manual, safety instructions, list of spare parts and proof of purchase. Otherwise, the manufacturer's current warranty terms always apply.
