Frequently Asked Questions - PHVS 3030 Philco

How do I use the vacuum sealer for the first time?
Plug in the device, open the lid, place a bag over the drip tray, close and lock the lid, then press the Vacuum Seal button. The machine will automatically vacuum and seal.
Can I use any vacuum sealer bags with this model?
Yes, the PHVS 3030 works with most standard vacuum sealer bags and rolls, but for best results, use bags with a textured side.
How do I clean the vacuum sealer?
Unplug the unit. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Remove the drip tray and wash it with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Clean the sealing strip with a soft, dry cloth.
Why is the vacuum sealer not sealing properly?
Check if the sealing strip is clean and free of debris. Ensure the bag is placed correctly and the lid is firmly locked. If the issue persists, the sealing strip may need replacement.
Can I vacuum seal liquids or moist foods?
Yes, but use the pulse function to control vacuuming and avoid liquid being sucked into the pump. For very moist items, consider pre-freezing or using a special liquid-proof bag.
How do I make bags from a roll?
Place the roll in the bag cutter compartment, pull out the desired length, close the lid, and press the Seal Only button to create one end. Then cut the bag using the built-in cutter.
What is the pulse function used for?
The pulse function allows you to manually control the vacuum process by pressing the button repeatedly, which is ideal for delicate foods like soft fruits or baked goods.
How often should I replace the sealing strip?
The sealing strip typically lasts for about 1000 cycles. Replace it when you notice weak seals or if the strip appears worn. It is a user-replaceable part.
Does the machine have overheating protection?
Yes, the PHVS 3030 is equipped with overheating protection. It will automatically shut off if it gets too hot. Allow it to cool down for 15-20 minutes before resuming use.
What should I do if the vacuum sealer won't turn on?
Check the power cord and outlet. Ensure the lid is fully closed and locked. If it still does not turn on, reset the device by unplugging it for 5 minutes. Contact support if the problem persists.

Air is not removed from the bag completely

  1. To seal properly, the open end of bag should be resting entirely inside Vacuum Chamber area.

  2. Check the sealing strip and foam gaskets for debris and positioning.

Make sure there is no breakage or distortion on both foam seal gaskets. Wipe clean and secure them back into place.

  1. The vacuum bag may have a leak. To test for a leak, seal the bag with some air in it, submerge in water, and apply pressure. Bubbles indicate a leak. If there is a leak, re-seal or use another bag.

  2. Use only the specific vacuum bags provided by dealers.

  3. There may be leaks along the seal caused by wrinkles, debris crumbs, grease or liquids. Open the bag, wipe the sealing area of the bag and smooth it out along the sealing strip before re-sealing.

The appliance does not start to seal after vacuuming

  1. There is a vacuum pressure sensor in the appliance. The appliance will not begin to seal automatically if the vacuum pressure inside the bag is not able to reach to the predetermined vacuum pressure. Check the sealing strip and the foam gaskets for debris and correct positioning. Wipe clean and secure them back into place, and try again.
  2. Check there is no breakage or distortion on both foam seal gaskets.
