Frequently Asked Questions - ZWM0001 Zelmer

How do I use the Zelmer ZWM0001 for the first time?
Clean the plates with a damp sponge, rinse and dry. Apply a thin coating of oil, close the appliance, and plug it in. Allow it to heat up for several minutes to eliminate the new smell. The ON pilot light will come on and the Heating pilot will indicate when it reaches temperature.
What should I do if the waffle gets stuck to the plates?
Ensure the plates are properly greased before use. If a waffle sticks, unplug the appliance and let it cool. Gently loosen the edges with a non-metallic spatula. Avoid using sharp objects that could damage the non-stick coating.
Can I submerge the appliance in water for cleaning?
No, never submerge the Zelmer ZWM0001 in water or any other liquid. Clean the plates with a damp cloth and a few drops of washing-up liquid, then dry thoroughly. The appliance must be disconnected from the mains and cooled before cleaning.
Why does the heating pilot light stay on while cooking?
The Heating pilot light indicates that the appliance is heating up. It will turn off when the set temperature is reached, and cycle on and off during operation to maintain the correct temperature. This is normal.
What can I do to prevent waffles from cooking unevenly?
Spread the batter evenly and do not overfill. Wait for the Heating pilot to turn off before placing the waffle. Close the lid gently without forcing it. For best results, preheat the appliance fully.
How can I prevent rust on the heating plates?
Keep the plates dry after cleaning. Apply a light coat of oil before storage to protect the non-stick surface. Store the appliance in a dry place with the lid closed.
Can I store the Zelmer ZWM0001 vertically?
The manual does not specify vertical storage. It is recommended to store the appliance on a flat, even surface with the cord wrapped loosely. The handle on the upper body allows for convenient carrying.
Where can I find replacement parts or spare plates?
Contact an authorised B&B Trends technical service center. The warranty covers spare parts for repairs when used according to the manual. Unauthorised tampering voids the warranty.
Can I use the recipe from the manual for other types of waffles?
Yes, the included recipes (French Toast Waffles and Buttermilk Waffles) can be adapted. Adjust cooking times and batter quantity as needed. Always wait for the Heating pilot to indicate the correct temperature.
What is covered under the warranty for the ZWM0001?
The warranty covers repair or replacement of the product for two years from purchase, provided the product is used according to the manual and not tampered with by unauthorised persons. Wear parts are excluded. Keep the receipt and warranty card.
