Frequently Asked Questions - SR-UH36F PANASONIC

How to cook rice with the Panasonic SR-UH36F?
Measure the rice with the supplied measuring cup (approximately 180 ml per cup). Rinse the rice in a separate bowl, then pour it into the cooking basket. Add water according to the level marks in the basket. Place the basket in the housing, close the lid, plug in the appliance, and press the RICE COOKING switch. The indicator light turns on. After cooking, the appliance automatically switches to KEEP WARM mode. Let it steam for 15 minutes before fluffing the rice.
What is the maximum cooking capacity?
The rice cooker can cook up to 20 cups of uncooked rice, which is equivalent to 3.6 liters. Do not exceed the MAX level indicated in the basket.
How to clean the rice cooker?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the inner lid and the cooking basket with dish soap and a soft sponge. Wipe the housing and outer lid with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Empty and clean the steam collector after each use.
Why is my rice too hard or undercooked?
Check the water and rice ratios. Make sure you use the appropriate level marks (white rice or sushi rice). The cooking basket must be in direct contact with the heating plate. Clean any foreign objects under the basket or on the plate. Ensure the lid is properly closed.
What to do if the appliance does not turn on?
Check that the plug is properly inserted and the power outlet is working. Check the circuit breaker. If the cord or plug is damaged, contact an authorized service center. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
Can the cooker be used for anything other than rice?
No, this appliance is designed only for cooking rice. Do not use it to heat other foods or reheat cold rice, as this may cause odors or damage the appliance.
How to maintain the non-stick coating of the basket?
Avoid using metal utensils or abrasive sponges. Hand wash with a soft sponge. Do not leave a spatula inside the basket. The coating may wear over time, handle with care.
Can the rice stay warm for too long?
It is not recommended to keep rice warm for more than 12 hours. Beyond that, the rice may discolor, develop an odor, or become too dry. Fluff the rice after cooking for optimal storage.
What to do in case of viscous liquid overflow?
Check that you did not add too much water. Make sure to rinse the rice thoroughly to remove excess starch. Do not add oil to the rice. Regularly clean the heating plate and sensor.
Where to find spare parts or get the appliance repaired?
For any spare parts (cooking basket, measuring cup, etc.) or repairs, contact an authorized Panasonic service center. Use only original accessories. The power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified technician.
