Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 61859 POWERFIX

How do I set up the master-slave function?
Connect the master appliance (e.g., computer) to the master socket and slave appliances to slave sockets. Switch the master appliance off or to standby. Press the learn button with a pointed object until the slave LED flashes. The strip automatically stores the standby consumption. Then switch the master on/off to control slaves.
Can I use all sockets as permanent sockets?
Yes. Press the learn button until the slave LED flashes, then press it again for 3 seconds. The master and slave sockets then behave as permanent sockets. To revert, repeat the learn procedure.
What does the surge protector LED indicate?
The LED (protection on) illuminates when the strip is on, indicating the surge protector is active. If it does not light, the protector is faulty and the strip must be disposed of.
What is the maximum load for this power strip?
The maximum load is 16 A or 3680 W at 230 V. Do not exceed this to avoid overheating.
How do I clean the power strip?
Unplug the strip from the mains. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the housing. Do not use liquids, solvents, or petroleum-based cleaners.
What should I do if the master-slave function does not work?
Ensure the strip is switched on and the master appliance consumes between 5 W (on) and 100 W (standby). Re-run the learn procedure. If problems persist, the strip may be defective.
Is this power strip suitable for outdoor use?
No. It is designed for dry indoor environments only. Never expose to rain or moisture.
How long is the warranty?
The warranty is 3 years from the date of purchase. Keep your receipt as proof. It covers material and workmanship faults.
Can I connect multiple power strips together?
No. Never connect multiple power strips in a row, as this can cause overloading and fire hazard.
What is the purpose of the learn button?
The learn button allows the strip to automatically detect the standby power consumption of the master appliance, setting the correct switching threshold (5-100 W) for the slave sockets.

- Getting started

- Connecting electrical appliances

☐ Insert the mains plug of the multiple power strip into a correctly installed socket.
☐ Insert the electrical appliance you wish to use into the respective socket 1, 2 or 3.

Getting started

• Using permanent sockets

Note: When the multiple outlet strip is switched on, the permanent sockets 3 will be permanently switched on.

☐ Use the ON / OFF switch 5 to switch the multiple outlet strip and the connected electrical appliances on or off.

Note: When the multiple outlet strip is switched on, the ON / OFF switch 5 will glow.

- Master / slave socket function

Note: The appliance plugged into the socket 2 (e.g. computer) automatically switches the electrical power supply of the slave sockets 1 (e.g. monitor, printer, scanner, etc.) on and off along with it.

Using the automatic switching threshold setting

☐ Use the ON / OFF switch 5 to switch the multiple outlet strip on.

Note: When the multiple outlet strip is switched on, the ON / OFF switch 5 will glow.

☐ Plug the electrical appliance you wish to use into the master socket 2.

☐ Switch the appliance plugged into the master socket 2 off or into standby mode.

Note: The power consumption of the master appliance has to be more than 5 W in its switched on state and less than 100 W in its switched off state (standby mode).

☐ Press the learn button 4 with a pointed object (e.g. pencil) as long as necessary until the LED (slave sockets on) 6 starts to flash.

☐ The LED (slave sockets on) ☐ will flash for a few seconds. The multiple outlet strip will now automatically determine the standby electrical power consumption of the electrical appliance plugged into the master socket ☐. The switching threshold will be stored.

☐ The LED (slave sockets on) 6 will go out as soon as the adjustment procedure has finished.

40 GB

Getting started

☐ The master / slave socket function can now be used.

Using the master / slave socket function:
