Electrical safety:

Caution: to avoid accidents and injuries from electric shocks:
• After erection, the mains plug must be freely accessible when the equipment is in operation.
- Before operating your new pump, have a specialist check: - The earthing, the protective multiple earthing; the residual current circuit break-
ing must be compliant with the safety regulations of the energy supply company and function without fault,
- The protection of the electrical plug connections from the wet.
- If there is a risk of flooding, fix the plug connections in an area that is safe from flooding.
- Ensure that the mains voltage matches the specifications on the rating plate.
- The electrical installation shall be according to national wiring rules.
- Before each use, check the equipment, cable and plug for damage. Defective cables are not to be repaired, but rather replaced by new ones. Have damage on your equipment repaired by an authorised specialist.
- If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a customer service agent of the same or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent hazards.
- Do not pull the plug from the socket by the cable. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
- Do not carry or fix the equipment by the cable.
- Use only extension cables that are protected from spray water and designed for outdoor use. Always fully unroll a cable drum before use. Check the cable for damage.
- Disconnect the mains plug from the socket before all work on the equipment, in case of leaks in the water system, during work breaks, and when not in use.
- The cross-section of mains connection lines must be no smaller than rubber hose lines with the designation H07RN8-F. The line must be 10 m long. The flexible lead cross-section of the extension cord must at least 2.5 mm ^2 .
- Perform the electrical installation in accordance with national regulations.
Initial Operation
Positioning/Hanging
- The dimensions of the pump shaft must be not less than 40 × 40 × 50 cm, in order that the float switch (7) can move freely.
- The pump can be suspended by the round handle (1) or placed on the shaft floor.
The pump can be suspended and/or removed using the nylon cord (1.1) provided.
To hang up safely, loop the nylon cord around both of the cable holders that are pointing downwards and pull it upwards through the round handle.
Never suspend the pump by the hose.

Ensure that the equipment is not hung up or held by the mains cable. There is a risk of electric shock from damaged mains cables.
GBIENICY

Note that, over time, dirt and sand may collect on the bottom of the shaft, which could damage the pump.
We recommend standing the pump on a brick.
If the water level is too low, the silt in the shaft can quickly dry out and impede the pump when warming up.
Mains Connection
The pump you have purchases is already fitted with an earthed plug. The equipment is designed for connection to an earthed wall socket with a residual current operated device (RCD switch) at 230 V \~ 50Hz.
Connecting the Pressure Line
The pump is installed
- Either with a fixed pipeline
- Or with a flexible hose line.

-
Screw the bracket adapter (10) onto the pump outlet (3).
-
Insert the seal (12b) into the backflow preventer (12).
-
Insert the backflow preventer (12) between the angle adapter (10) and reducer (9) in such a way that the valve opens in the direction of flow and closes against the direction of flow.
-
Fit the hose over the reducer (9) and secure it with a hose clamp.
Or use a screw connection at the bracket adapter (10) or the reducer (9).
① Outlet with a 1½" internal thread on the pump for connection of the angle adapter (10) or for direct connection of a hose with a 1½" external thread;
② Outlet with 1½" external thread at the bracket adapter (10) for connection of the reducer (9) or a 1½" screw connection;
③ Outlet on reducer (9) for connection of a 1½" or 1½" hose as a compression joint (fixing with a hose clamp);
4 Outlet with 1" external thread at the reducer (9) for connection of a 1" screw connection;
5 Outlet with 1½" thread at the reducer (9) for connection of a 1"hose as clamp connection (fixing with a hose clamp).

Note that the particle size may be max. 19 mm if the reducer (∅ 19.3 mm) is used, otherwise the reducer and hose can become blocked.
To increase pump output, the backflow stopper (12) may be taken out of the angle adaptor (10) (see "replacing backflow stopper"). This is particularly recommended for hose connections smaller than 1". Please bear in mind that the water may then flow back during pumping, or in the event of a power cut.
Adjustment of the float switch
The float switch (Z) is adjusted so that it can be started up immediately. In the case of stationary installation, check regularly (no less then once every three months) that the float switch is working. The ON and OFF switching point of the float switch can be adjusted by changing
the position of the float switch in the float switch grating. Please check the following points before start of operation.
- The float switch must be attached so that the switching point ON level and the switching point OFF level can be reached easily and with little expenditure of energy. Check this by placing the pump into a vessel filled with water and lift the float switch carefully by hand and then lower it again. In this case, you can see whether the pump switches on and off.
- Also ensure that the separation distance between the float switch head and the float switch latching mechanism (8) is not too small. In the case of a separation distance which is too small, trouble-free functioning cannot be guaranteed.
- During the adjustment of the float switch, ensure that the float switch does not contact the floor before the pump switches off.

There is a risk of dry running if the float switch cable is selected to be too long
Operational start-up

- Check that the pump is standing firmly on the bottom of the shaft or hung up safely.
- Check whether the pressure line has been attached correctly and the unused pump outlet is fully closed.
- Avoid that the pump runs dry. Regularly check the function of the float switch. In case of non-observance or if the pump runs dry, guarantee and liability claims are invalidated.
- Check that the electrical connection is 230 V \~50 Hz
- Check the proper status of the electrical plug socket and make sure that the plug socket is sufficiently fused (at least 6 A, RCD switch). Insert the pump plug into the plug socket and the pump is ready for operation.
- Make sure that moisture or water never come in contact with the mains connection. There is a risk of electrocution.
Cleaning/Maintenance/Storage
Clean and maintain your equipment regularly. This will guarantee its performance and long durability.

Ask our service centre to carry out any work that is not described in these instructions. Use only original parts.
This will prevent damage to the equipment and any resulting personal injury.

Pull out the power plug before every maintenance operation. There is a risk of electrocution or of injury from moving parts.
General cleaning instructions
- In case of transport for utilization in different locations, the pump must be cleaned with clear water after every use.
- In case of stationary installation, the function of the float switch (7) is to be checked regularly (at the latest every three months).
GBIENICY
- With a water jet, remove fluff and fibrous particles which are possibly present in the pump casing.
- Regularly remove sludge from the pit base and also clean the shaft walls.
- Clean precipitation from the float switch with clear water.
- In the case of a long period of non-use, the pump must be thoroughly cleaned after the last use and before the new use, since difficulties in start-up can arise due to precipitation and residues.
Replacing the backflow preventer
Replace a faulty backflow preventer (see "Spare Parts/Accessories").
B
-
Unscrew the reducer (9) on the angle adapter (10) and take out the backflow preventer (12) and seal (12b).
-
Insert the seal (12b) in the new backflow preventer (12a).
-
Insert the backflow preventer (12) between the angle adapter (10) and reducer (9) in such a way that the valve opens in the direction of flow and closes against the direction of flow.
Cleaning the Fan Wheel
In case of soiling or blockage of the impeller, this can be cleaned via the pump outlet (3) or by removing the floor plate (4):
C
-
Unscrew the bracket adapter (10) from the pump outlet (3).
-
Remove the 3 screws on the bottom of the base (5) and take off the base plate (4).
-
Clean the fan wheel using clean water.
-
To re-assemble, reverse this order.
Any measures above and beyond these, particularly opening the equipment, are to be carried out by an electrician. In the case of repairs, always contact our service centre.

Guarantee
Dear Customer, This equipment is provided with a 3-year guarantee from the date of purchase. In case of defects, you have statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statu-
tory rights are not restricted by our guaran- tee presented below.
Terms of Guarantee
The term of the guarantee begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original receipt. This document is required as proof of purchase.
If a material or manufacturing defect occurs within three years of the date of purchase of this product, we will repair or replace – at our choice – the product for you free of charge. This guarantee requires the defective equipment and proof of purchase to be presented within the three-year period with a brief written description of what constitutes the defect and when it occurred. If the defect is covered by our guarantee, you will receive either the repaired product or a new product. No new guarantee period begins on repair or replacement of the product.
Guarantee Period and Statutory Claims for Defects
The guarantee period is not extended by the guarantee service. This also applies for replaced or repaired parts. Any damages and defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs arising after expiry of the guarantee period are chargeable.
Guarantee Cover
The equipment has been carefully produced in accordance with strict quality guidelines and conscientiously checked prior to delivery.
The guarantee applies for all material and manufacturing defects. This guarantee does not extend to cover product parts that are subject to normal wear and may therefore be considered as wearing parts (e.g. connector set, fan wheel) or to cover damage to breakable parts (e.g. switches). This guarantee shall be invalid if the product has been damaged, used incorrectly or not maintained. Precise adherence to all of the instructions specified in the operating manual is required for proper use of the product. Intended uses and actions against which the operating manual advises or warns must be categorically avoided. The product is designed only for private and not commercial use. The guarantee will be invalidated in case of misuse or improper handling, use of force, or interventions not undertaken by our authorised service branch.
In the case of pumping water containing sand or aggressive liquids or other incorrect, non-design-appropriate use, as well as in case of non-observance of the operating manual, application of force in use or inappropriate or insufficient maintenance, no guarantee claim exists, since seals, impeller wheel, motor or other parts are damaged by this. Also, sewage water pumps are not suitable for the pumping of abrasive materials (sand, stone).
Note: submersible pumps are drainage pumps. This kind of pump is constructed with the purpose of transporting or removing a certain volume of water – depending on its output category – as quickly as possible. Submersible pumps are not intended as irrigation (for example, in garden irrigation systems) or as constant water-flow pumps (such as in artificial streams or ornamental fountains). Inappropriate use will invalidate the warranty.
In particular, the guarantee is likewise void in the case of employment of the sewage water pumps without base plate or (this applies for all pumps) in case of damages which are caused by supporting on or sus-
pending from the mains cable. The pumps must not be run dry or exposed to frost.
