How do I insert batteries in the SilverCrest IAN 43116 pepper mill?
To insert batteries, hold the base firmly and turn the top counter-clockwise to open the bayonet cap. Remove the top and motor, then insert 6 AAA batteries (1.5V) observing correct polarity as shown in the compartment. Reassemble by aligning the motor notch with the base protrusion.
What type of salt or pepper can I use in the mill?
Only use peppercorns or coarse salt. Do not use fine salt or other spices as they may damage the grinding mechanism.
How do I adjust the grind coarseness?
Turn the adjustable screw on the bottom: clockwise for finer grind, anticlockwise for coarser grind. If the mechanism stops, choose a coarser setting or loosen the screw to release stuck pieces.
How do I activate the mill and the light?
Press and hold the switch on top to activate the motor and the built-in light simultaneously. Release to stop.
How do I replace the bulb?
First remove the batteries to avoid accidental activation. Hold the base upwards, carefully pull out the old bulb, and insert a new bulb of the same type (included replacement bulb).
Why is the mill not grinding?

How do I clean the salt and pepper mill?
Clean only the exterior with a soft dry cloth. Never use liquids or detergents as they can damage the device.
Is the mill safe for children to use?
