Frequently Asked Questions - Titanox K109 IMETEC

How do I use the steam burst function?
Press the steam burst button located on the handle for extra steam to remove stubborn creases.
What type of water should I use?
Use distilled or demineralized water to prevent scale buildup. Tap water can be used but may require more frequent cleaning.
How do I clean the iron?
Use the self-cleaning function regularly: fill the tank, set to max temperature, unplug, hold over sink, press self-clean button. Wipe soleplate with damp cloth.
Why is the iron not producing steam?
Check if water tank is filled, temperature dial is set to steam zone, and steam control is open. Ensure iron is heated up.
How does the auto shut-off work?
The iron switches off automatically if left horizontal for 30 seconds or vertical for 8 minutes. Simply move it to reactivate.
Can I use the iron without steam?
Yes, set the steam control to dry ironing position. Ensure no water in tank or use the dry setting.
What is the anti-scale system?
An integrated anti-scale cartridge reduces mineral deposits. Replace cartridge as indicated in manual.
Is the iron suitable for delicate fabrics?
Yes, use low temperature settings for silk, synthetic, and wool. Test on an inconspicuous area first.
How do I store the iron?
Let it cool completely, empty water tank, wrap cable loosely, and store upright on its heel.
What should I do if the iron leaks water?
Ensure temperature is high enough for steam. If leaking persists, check water level and clean steam vents with a soft brush.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES

The appliance is designed to work with tap water; however, if the water in your area is very hard, mix the tap water (50%) with distilled and/or demineralised water (50%). Salt concentration in water in certain seaside areas is very high: in such cases it is important to use “demineralised water for irons” available on the market. If in doubt, only demineralised water for steam irons must be used.

Do not use diluting agents, scented liquids or descaling agents as these substances can damage the product. Do not use water from dryers, air-conditioners and rain water.

The reservoir may contain some water as each product is tested before being put on the market.

It is recommended to place a cloth between the iron and the fabric when using the iron for the first time.

It is recommended to direct a jet of steam into the air before starting

to iron, for any residual condensation to be let out.

- The appliance must be unplugged from the socket before filling the reservoir.

The appliance is equipped with new technology that optimises steam production, thereby reducing energy consumption.

Set the steam selector (5) to ECO to activate the function.

IRONING WITHOUT STEAM (DRY)

Follow the instructions in the “steam ironing” section, leaving the steam selector (5) set to 0.

IRONING WITH STEAM

Select the amount of steam via the steam selector (5).

Move the steam selector (5) to any position between minimum and maximum according to the desired amount.

Continuous steam will only be dispensed when the iron is in a horizontal position.

This stops when the iron is set upright or the steam selector (5) is set to 0.

Steam can only be used at the highest temperatures, as indicated by the symbol on the temperature adjustment knob (2) [Fig. D].

If the selected temperature is too low, water droplets may drip from the plate.

IMETEC Titanox K109 - IRONING WITH STEAM - 1

IMETEC Titanox K109 - SELF CLEAN/CALC-CLEAN SYSTEM - 1

ATTENTION!

ure the plug of the appliance (13) is disconnected from the socket and the plate has cooled down completely before cleaning the iron.

The plastic parts can be cleaned with a damp cloth and then wiped with a dry cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING

This chapter describes the most common problems that can arise using the appliance. If the problems cannot be solved with the information below, please contact the Authorised Assistance Centre.

Problem Possible cause Solution
The plate (10) remains cold or does not heat up.There is no power supply.Verify whether the plug (13) is inserted correctly or try inserting it in another socket.
Verify whether the temperature adjustment knob (2) is set to the minimum temperature (Fig. D).
The plate temperature LED (1) goes on and off.Normal procedure. The switching ON and OFF of the LED indicates the heating phase of the iron. The LED goes off once the set temperature is reached.
Only a little steam or none at all is dispensed. The steam selector (5) is set to 0.Set the steam selector (5) to the desired field (Fig. B).
There is not enough water in the reservoir (11).Fill the reservoir (11).
The impurities that come out from the steam holes stain the garments.Possible residue in the steam chamber/plate.Carry out the Self Clean procedure (see paragraph Seal Clean/Calc-Clean System).
Chemical additives, scented liquids or descaling agents are being used. These substances damage the product: do not add additives to the water in the reservoir.
Pure distilled water or softened water is being used.Mix tap water (50%) with distilled and/or demineralised (50%) water.
Starch is being used.Always spray the starch on the reverse side of the fabric.
Water leaks from the plate. The plate temperature is too low due to the super-steam button (4) being pressed too often.Allow slightly longer intervals between the jets of steam.
The temperature adjustment knob (2) is set to a temperature that is too low (Fig. D).Turn the temperature adjustment knob (2) to the Max level (Fig. D).

IMETEC Titanox K109 - DISPOSAL - 2

The product is packaged in recyclable materials. Dispose of it in compliance with the environmental protection standards.

Pursuant to Art. 26 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 49 of 14 March 2014 “Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)” the crossed bin symbol on the appliance or its packaging indicates that the product must be disposed of separately from other waste at the end of its useful life.
