APPLIANCE DESCRIPTION

The Princess 01.182480.01.001 is an air fryer for grilling, baking, and roasting food using hot air without the use of oil.

Intended use

This appliance is intended for indoor use only.

This appliance is intended exclusively for domestic, non-commercial use.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

• staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
• farm houses;
• by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;
• bed and breakfast type environments.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Any use of the appliance other than described in this user manual is regarded as misuse and may cause injury or damage to the appliance and void the warranty.

Safety precautions

WARNING

Safety hazard due to unintended use:

• Only use the appliance as described in this user manual.
• By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the damage.
• Never use the appliance if there are visible signs of damage or defects. Always replace a damaged or defective appliance immediately.
• Never make any adjustments to the appliance. Adjustments may affect safety, warranty and proper operation.

• Do not cover the air inlet and the air exhaust openings while the appliance is operating.

• Do not fill the frying tray with oil as this may cause a fire hazard.

• Keep the appliance and its mains cord out of the reach of children when the appliance is switched on or is cooling down.
• Do not place the appliance against a wall or against other appliances. Leave at least 10cm free space on the back and sides and 10cm free space above the appliance.
• Always place the appliance on a stable, flat, heat, and moisture resistant surface.

Electric shock hazard due to short-circuiting:

• Never use the appliance if there are visible signs of damage or defects to the appliance or power cable. Always replace a damaged or defective appliance or power cable immediately or contact customer service.
  • Always avoid spillage on the power cable.
• To protect yourself against an electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in the water or any other liquid.
• Never open the appliance. The appliance may only be opened for maintenance by an authorised technician.
• Never replace the power cable yourself. Always let the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person replace the power cable.
• Never lift the appliance by the power cable. Lifting the appliance by the power cable may damage the power cable. Only lift the appliance by holding the base.

Fire hazard due to overheating:

• Never leave the appliance unattended when in use. Only use the appliance under supervision. Switch off the appliance and remove the power cable from the power outlet when you leave the room.
• Never use the appliance with a programmer, timer, separate remote control system or any other device that switches the appliance on automatically.
• Never place the appliance directly underneath a power outlet. The appliance may become hot during use. Always keep the back of the appliance clear of any objects.
• In order to prevent disruptions of the airflow do not put anything on top of the appliance and make sure there is always 10 centimeter of free space around the appliance.
• Never place the appliance near a heat source.
• Do not install the appliance close to curtains and other combustible materials.

Fire hazard due to short-circuiting:

• Never drop the appliance and avoid bumping. Excessive vibrations can lead to loosened connections and can influence proper functioning of the appliance. Stop using the appliance if the appliance has been dropped.
• Never use the appliance with an extension cable.
• Never connect any other appliance with high power consumption to the same group.

Fire hazard due to burnt food:

• Always clean all parts that come into contact with food after use.
• Never exceed the maximum level indicated on the inside of the basket.

Burning hazard due to hot liquids:

• Never use the appliance on recreational vehicles or boats. Hot liquid may spill out of the appliance.
• Always ensure the basket is fully closed. Hot liquid may splatter out of the appliance.
• Never move the appliance during use. Hot liquid may spill out of the appliance.
• Never touch the inside of the appliance while it is operating.

Choking hazard due to plastic packaging:

- Never let children play with the packaging material. Always keep the packaging material out of the reach of children.

CAUTION

Burning hazard due to heat:

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Never touch the hot surfaces during or shortly after use. The hot surfaces may be subject to residual heat. Let the appliance cool down completely before handling the appliance.

- During hot air frying, hot steam is released through the air exhaust openings; Keep your hands and face at a safe distance from the steam and the air exhaust openings; Be careful of hot steam and hot air when you remove the frying tray from the appliance.

- The surface below the appliance may become hot during use.

- Immediately unplug the appliance if you see dark smoke coming out of the appliance; Wait for the smoke emission to stop before you remove the frying tray from the appliance.

NOTICE

Risk of damaging the appliance:

• The appliance must be placed on a stable, level surface.

• Only use the appliance with the provided accessories or accessories recommended by Princess.

• Never use metal utensils to remove food from the pan. Metal utensils may damage the non-stick coating.

NOTICE

• The airfryer will not operate unless the basket is fully closed.
• The fat-free fryer uses the technology of hot air heating, Never pour oil or fat into the fryer.
• Do not put anything on top of the appliance. This disrupts the airflow and affects the air-frying result.

BEFORE FIRST USE

• Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or paper from the device.
• Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal and level surface, do not place the appliance on non-heat-resistant surfaces.
• When the device is turned on for the first time, a slight odour will occur. This is normal, ensure adequate ventilation. This fragrance is only temporary and will disappear soon.

USE

• Put the main plug in an earthed wall socket.
• PlacethefryrackA ⑦ into the airfryer. For preparing smaller portions, it is recommended to place the adjustableairfryerrackA ⑦ on the raised airfryer plate level.
• Press the power button Ⓔ to turn the appliance on/off.

Manual setting:

• Press the temperature icon B10 andturntheknobB 3 to set the desired cooking temperature. The temperature will increase or decrease in 5 °C increments.
• The cooking temperature can be set between 80^ and 200^ .
• PressthetimeiconB 11 andturntheknobB 3 to set the desired cooking time. The time will increase or decrease in 1-minute increments.
• The timer can be set between 1 and 60 minutes.
• Pressthestart/stopbuttonB 8 to start cooking.
• Press the light indicator icon B10 to turn on the light during cooking to get a good view on the food and the cooking process.
• Pressthestart/pausebuttonB 8 to pause the program.
• To power off and return to standby mode, press the Power button B8. The appliance will beep and shut down.

Note: You can remove the airfryer basket during cooking to check or shake the ingredients. The airfryer will pause automatically and resume once the basket is reinserted.

Program setting:

- PressthemenubuttonB ⑨ to cycle through the pre-set cooking programs until the icon of the desired program flashes.

- Pressthestart/stopbuttonB 8 to start cooking.

Shake reminder

• Tip: If you set the timer to half the preparation time, you hear the timer buzzer when you have to shake the ingredients. However, this means that you have to set the timer again to the remaining preparation time after shaking.

• Shake the basket a few times. Be careful to not shake too hard so that the hot ingredients will not fall out.

Turning off the buzzer sound

- When pressing any key, the buzzer will sound. Hold both the Timer control B ^11 and the Temperature controlB ^10 to turn off the buzzer sound. To turn the buzzer sound back on, press the same keys again.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Always unplug the power cable when the appliance is not in use or unattended, and before cleaning.
- Let the appliance cool down.
- Remove all the accessories from the appliance.
- Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use harsh and abrasive cleaners, scouring pad or steel wool, which damages the appliance.
- Wash the fry basket and airfryer rack with hot water, detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. You can use a degreaser to wash away any remaining dirt.

• If dirt sticks to the rack, or the bottom of the fryer, add hot water to the fryer and some detergent. Place the grill in the fryer and let the fryer and grill soak for about 10 minutes.
• Clean the inside of the appliance with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge.
  • Dry all parts with a soft, dry cloth.
• Never immerse the device in water or any other liquid. The device is not dishwasher proof.

TROUBLESHOOTING

When the air fryer indicates an error message, first remove the plug from the socket, wait half an hour, and then plug it in again. If this does not solve the error message, please contact the after-sales service.

The air fryer does not work. The appliance is not plugged in. Make sure		the power cord is plugged in into an earthed socket.
		The timer has not been set. Set the preparation time via the control panel to start the appliance.
The food is not fully cooked There are too many ingredients in the frying basket.		Use smaller batches in the frying basket to ensure even cooking.
		The temperature is set too low. Use the control panel to set the required temperature.
		The current preparation time may be too short.
The ingredients are fried unevenly in the air fryer.	Certain ingredients need to be shaken halfway through the preparation time.	To ensure even cooking, shake ingredients that are stacked or overlapping (e.g. fries) halfway through the preparation time.
Fried snacks are not be crispy when they come out of the airfryer.	You may be using a type of snack intended for preparation in a traditional deep fryer.	Use oven snacks or lightly oil the snacks for better crispiness.
The pan does not slide into the appliance properly.	There is too much food in the Frying basket.	Do not fill the tray beyond the maximum quantity.
White smoke comes out of the appliance.	You are preparing greasy ingredients.	When frying greasy ingredients in the airfryer, ensure the temperature is kept below 180°C.
	The basket still contains greasy residue from the previous use.	White smoke may be caused by grease heating up in the pan. Always clean the pan thoroughly after each use.
Fresh potato fries are fried unevenly in the air fryer.	The potato sticks may not have been soaked properly before frying.	Soak the potato sticks in a bowl of water for at least 30 minutes, then drain and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
	You may not have used the correct type of potato.	Use fresh potatoes and ensure they remain firm during frying.
Fresh potato fries are not crispy when they come out of the air fryer.	The crispiness of the fries depends on the amount of oil and water in the fries.	Make sure you dry the potato sticks properly before you coat them with oil.
		Cut the potatoes into thinner sticks to achieve a crispier result.
		Add slightly more oil for a crispier result.
