How to charge the Severin HS 0710 trimmer?

Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

Important safety instructions

- In order to avoid hazards, and to comply with safety requirements, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department (see appendix).

- This appliance contains a non-replaceable battery.

- At the end of its life, dispose of the appliance, including the battery, promptly at a designated collection point to ensure safe and environmentally sound recycling. Never dispose of the appliance

with the rechargeable battery in household waste.

- Never damage the battery, take it apart, expose it to excessive heat or throw it into a fire. Batteries that have been dropped must be replaced and must not be charged or used further.

- WARNING! Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the charging cable before cleaning or maintenance.

- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with liquids or immerse it.

- WARNING! Only charge using the supplied charging cable and 5 V USB power adapters.

- Improper handling may cause flammable liquid or vapour to leak from the appliance’s battery.

Discontinue using the appliance if it is damaged or if liquid or vapour is leaking from the battery.

- If vapours are released, do not inhale them and ensure proper ventilation.

- Charge and use the battery only at room temperature.

- Store the battery in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Always protect the battery from moisture and excessively low or high temperatures.

The battery must not be exposed to direct sunlight (e.g., in a parked car).

Store the battery fully charged and recharge it every 6 months if not used for an extended period.

• Children aged 3 and above may use the appliance under supervision.

- The appliance may be

used by children aged 8 and above, as well as by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or cognitive capabilities, or those with limited experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and fully understand the associated risks.

• Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.

- Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by unsupervised children.

- The appliance and its power cord must be kept well away from children under 3 at all times.

- Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – such materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.

- Before each use, inspect the appliance and all accessories for any damage that could affect safe operation. If the appliance has been dropped or subjected to impact, internal damage may not be visible. In this case, too, do not operate the appliance.

- Switch off the appliance

  • after use,
  • before changing attachments,
  • in case of any malfunction, and
  • before cleaning the appliance.

  • Never disconnect the charging cable by pulling on the cord; always grip the plug.

  • Caution: Risk of injury! The blades on the trimmer heads are sharp.
  • Use only original accessory parts; the use of any attachments other than those provided by the manufacturer may be hazardous to the user.
  • No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.

Travel lock

  • The appliance is equipped with a travel lock.
  • When the symbol flashes on the display, the lock is active.
  • To activate or deactivate the travel lock, press and hold the on/off switch for three seconds.

Charging the battery

- Before using the appliance for the first time the battery must be fully charged for a period of approximately 2 hours. However, the appliance can remain on charge for a longer period without

damage or danger.

- When the battery is low, the battery bar flashes three times when switching on.

- Charge the battery when low. The appliance can be used with the power adapter connected if the battery is fully discharged. However, allow it to charge for at least 10 minutes before use.

- Insert the USB-C plug into the charging port on the base of the switched-off appliance. Connect the charging cable to a suitable power adapter.

- Charging begins, and the battery bar flashes. When the bar remains steady, the appliance is fully charged.

- To maximise battery life, fully discharge the battery every 6 months and recharge it for 1.5 hours.

General information

- Attach or remove the grooming attachments using light pressure. They are magnetically secured.

• After each use, detach and clean the attachment.

- Slide the selected guide comb onto the trimmer head until it clicks securely into place.

Hair/beard trimming

- Attach either the standard or precision trimmer head to the appliance.

- For longer hair or beard trimming, attach the desired guide comb (3, 6, 9 or 12 mm) to the trimmer head. Start with a longer guide comb for first-time use.

- Begin at the lower edge (nape or neckline) with the trimmer head flat against the skin or scalp, moving the

appliance against the direction of hair growth.

- For contouring or shaping sideburns, remove the guide comb and trim from top to bottom using the trimmer head only. For detailed trimming, remove the guide comb and attach the detail trimmer head.

Beard shaving

- Fit the foil shaver head onto the appliance.

- Move the appliance against the direction of hair growth to remove beard hair.

Ear and nose hair trimming

- Attach the ear and nose hair trimmer head to the appliance.

- Gently insert the attachment into the nose or ear to trim hairs. Do not insert it into the ear canal!

Body hair trimming

- Fit the body hair trimmer head onto the appliance.

• If required, attach the body hair comb.

- Trim body hair against the direction of growth.

- To remove the comb attachment, press the ridged area and pull it off.

Cleaning and care

General

- Clean all attachments after each use, especially if hair has become caught on them.

• Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the charging cable before

cleaning or oiling.

  • Use the supplied oil or a standard clipper oil to lubricate the blades.
  • For electrical safety, do not expose the charging cable to liquids or immerse it in any liquid.

Main unit

  • Clean the main unit with a damp cloth or rinse it under running water.
  • Before recharging, ensure the charging port at the base of the appliance is completely dry.

Comb attachments

• After each use, remove the comb attachments and rinse them under running water. Use mild soap if necessary.

Trimmer heads

• After each use, remove the trimmer heads and clean them under running water using the supplied cleaning brush. Allow them to dry before reuse or storage.
- After cleaning, or at the latest after around 25 minutes of use, apply a drop of acid-free oil to the blade surface of the dry attachment. Briefly switch on the appliance to distribute the oil evenly. Regular oiling ensures consistently optimal cutting performance and prolongs the lifespan of the blades.

Storage

Store the appliance and accessories on the accessory stand.
