GENERAL WARNINGS FOR THE SAFETY OF POWER TOOLS
Warning! Read all safety warnings, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fi re or serious injury.
Keep all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" used in warnings applies to all tools driven by power both wired and wireless.
Workplace safety
Keep the workplace well-lit and clean. Disorder and poor lighting can be causes of accidents.
Do not work with power tools in an environment with an increased risk of explosion, containing flammable liquids, gases or vapors. Power tools generate sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
Children and third persons should not be allowed to enter the workplace. Loss of concentration can result in loss of control.
Electrical safety
The plug of the electric cable must match the power socket. You must not modify the plug in any way. Do not use any plug adapters with earthed power tools. An unmodified plug that fits the outlet reduces the risk of electric shock.
Avoid contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators and coolers. Grounding the body increases the risk of electric shock. Do not expose power tools to contact with atmospheric precipitation or moisture. Water and moisture that gets inside the power tool increases the risk of electric shock.
Do not overload the power cable. Do not use the power cord to carry, pull or unplug the power plug from the power outlet. Avoid contact of the power cable with heat, oils, sharp edges and moving parts. Damage or entanglement of the power cord increases the risk of electric shock.
EN
In the case of working outside closed rooms, use extension cords intended for work outside closed rooms. The use of an extension cord adapted for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
When using a power tool in a humid environment is unavoidable as a protection against supply voltage use a residual current device (RCD). The use of RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
Stay alert, pay attention to what you do and keep common sense while working with the power tool. Do not use a power tool when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol or medication. Even a moment of inattention while working can lead to serious personal injury.

Handles and gripping surfaces must be dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do not allow for safe operation and control of the tool in dangerous situations.
Repairs
Repair the power tool only in authorized facilities using only original spare parts. This ensures proper operation safety of the power tool.
SAFETY WARNINGS FOR RECIPROCATING SAWS
Hold the power tool by its insulated grip surfaces while performing operations where the cutting part may come into contact with concealed wiring or its own cable. If the cutting part comes into contact with live cable, it may cause the exposed metal parts of the power tool to become live and electrocute the operator.
Use clamps or other practical means to securely fasten and support the workpiece on a stable platform. Holding the workpiece with your hand or pressed against your body makes it unstable and can lead to loss of control.
PREPARATION FOR WORK
Attention! All activities related to installation and replacement of the blade, adjustments and maintenance of the electric tool must be realised when the tool is not powered, so before such tasks: Remove the plug of the cord of the saw from the mains socket!
EN
Installation and replacement of the blade (II)
Make sure the installed blade is not damaged or broken, and the cutting teeth are not broken, etc. In case any damage is detected, it is required to replace the blade with a new one.
The blade for wood and wood derivatives has wider spaced teeth, and the blade for metal and plastics has smaller teeth. Select an adequate blade for the planned work. The blade must be installed with the teeth directed towards the lower part of the housing. Attention! Installation of the blade must be realised wearing protective gloves, which will reduce the risk of injuries.
Turn the clamp of the spindle and insert the fixture of the blade into the slot of the spindle. Turn the clamp in the opposite direction and make sure the blade has been installed properly: the clamp has returned to the original position and the blade cannot be removed from the spindle.
Adjustments of the height and the angle of the foot (III)
By means of adjustments of the height of the foot, the cutting height may be set. To do this, loosen the two screws at the bottom of the housing, then set the foot to the desired height and tighten both screws. Make sure your foot does not change height during operation. The foot permits continuous adjustments of the angle of the skid, and to do so, it should be inclined in relations to the foot guide. This permits to adjust the cutting angle, without lifting the foot from the surface of the material being cut.
USING THE TOOL
Before work make sure the protection of the blade is installed correctly and lowered. Wear eye and hearing protection, as well as protective gloves. Fix the object to be cut to the work station, using clamps or an anvil, etc. Do not ever keep the material being cut in your hands or other parts of the body. In case of cutting, support the material at its edges and close to the cutting line. Place the supports at both sides of the cutting line, so that during cutting the blade is not seized in the kerf. During cutting the base must be placed with the whole surface against the material being cut. Connect the dust extraction system to the connection point.
Turning the reciprocating saw on and off
Make sure the surface at the place of work is even, stable and free from dirt.
Adopt a secure and stable position.
Hold the tool by the handle. Do not support the tool on any object.
Press the switch with a finger and hold it. Make sure the blade moves freely and the tool does not vibrate excessively and does not emit smoke or a suspicious smell. In case and irregularity is observed, turn the saw off, disconnect the plug from the mains and have the tool repaired at an authorised service point.
The switch is equipped with a lock, which may be used during long cutting. When the switch is pressed down, press the lock button and release the switch. The lock is released when the switch is pushed down.
The tool is turned off when it is unlocked and the switch is released. Once the tool has been turned off, the blade keeps moving for a while.
Cutting of wood (IV)
Before you proceed to cutting wood, use a woodwork pencil to draw the cutting line. Then place the tool on the foot and place the blade in accordance with the line, and turn the tool on, wait until it has reached the nominal rotation and start cutting. During cutting do not exert excessive pressure against the foot and the blade, since this might break the inserted tool.
In case of cutting wood, start cutting at a lower rotation and increase it during cutting.
Deep cutting
Attention! Deep cutting may be realised only in case of soft materials, such as soft wood or plasterboards. Do not ever realise deep cutting in metal or another hard material.
In case of deep cutting, use a short blade. Set the maximum rotation. Place the edge of the foot on the material to be cut and turn the tool on. Pressing the button, let the blade penetrate the material until the foot completely rests on the material being cut. Continue cutting along the marked line.
Cutting at the edge
Attention! While cutting at the edge, use a special blade of high flexibility.
It is possible to cut directly at the walls, floors and in other places which are difficult to reach, e.g. while cutting pipes off. During cutting, make sure the blade is continuously going through the full section of the material being cut. Cutting around the wall, which may cause the tool to rebound towards the operator.
It is recommended to install a blade which is turned by 180 grades as related to the normal position. This will make the cutting easier.
Cutting orifices
Attention! For the purpose of cutting orifices, use the blades for cutting arcs.
Before you start work, draw the cutting line. Drill a hole, insert the blade and start cutting.
EN
Cutting metal
Attention! Select an adequate blade for the metal to be cut. This will increase safety and prolong the life of the blade.
In case of cutting of thinner sheet metal, place it between two pieces of wood. This will permit to obtain a smooth cutting line and reduce the vibration generated during work.
It is recommended to use an adequate cooling agent for the given metal. If possible, spread a thin oil film within the area of operation of the foot of the saw. This will make operation of the saw easier.
Additional remarks
Avoid overloading the tool – the temperature of the external surfaces must not exceed 60oC.
Once the task has been concluded, turn the saw off, remove the plug of the tool from the mains socket and inspect the machine. The declared total value of vibration has been determined by means of a standard measurement method and may be used to compare the tool with another one. The declared total value of vibration may be used for an initial evaluation of exposure.
Attention! The vibration caused during work with the tool may differ from the declared value, depending on the way in which the tool is used.
Attention! It is required to determine safety measures to protect the operator, based on evaluation of exposure under actual circumstances of operation of the machine (including all the phases of the working cycle, for example the time when the tool is off or is idling, and the activation time.
MAINTENANCE AND OVERHAUL
ATTENTION! Before any adjustment, technical service or maintenance operations unplug the tool. Once the operations have been finished, the technical conditions of the tool must be assessed by means of external evaluation and inspection of the following elements: body and handle, conductor with a plug and deflection, functioning of the electric switch, patency of ventilation slots, sparking of brushes, noise level of functioning of bearings and gears, start-up and smoothness of operation. During the guarantee period, the user cannot dismantle the electric tools or change any sub-assemblies or elements, since it will cancel any guarantee rights. All irregularities detected at overhaul or during functioning of the tools are a signal to have the tool repaired at a service shop. Once the functioning has been concluded, the casing, ventilation slots, switches, additional handle and protections must be cleansed with a stream of air (at a pressure not exceeding 0.3 MPa), with a brush or a cloth without any chemical substances or cleaning liquids. Tools and handles must be cleansed with a clean cloth.
