SILVERCREST SRGF 1400 A3 - DANGER! Risk of electric shock! - 1

FIRE HAZARD!

  • The device must only be set up on a solid, level, dry and non-flammable surface. This is intended to prevent it from tipping, slipping or setting fire to the underlying material and thus causing damage.
  • The device must not be operated close to flammable liquids or materials, or in a potentially explosive environment. Keep at a distance of at least 30 cm from walls. In order to prevent overheating of the device or a potential fire, the device must not be covered. The grill plate must not under any circumstances be covered with aluminium foil, alumini-

um containers or heat-resistant materials.

- The power cable must not touch the metal surfaces during operation.

SILVERCREST SRGF 1400 A3 - FIRE HAZARD! - 1

DANGER! Risk of injury through burning!

  • Danger to life from burns. Ensure that children are not able to pull the device down from the work surface by the power cable.
  • Danger from explosive deflagration. Use fresh and clean fat suitable for fon-due. Old, used or unsuitable fat may ignite even at low temperatures.
  • If fat catches fire on the device, never try to extinguish it with water! There is a danger of explosive deflagration or electric shock. Instead, cover the device with a fire blanket.
  • Warning! Risk of burns caused by splashes of hot liquid when dipping food into the pot: dry food off beforehand and protect hands and forearms with oven gloves.
  • The fondue pot, the splash guard and the fondue forks become very hot during operation. Make sure you protect your hands, e.g. with oven gloves, and only touch the fondue forks by the handles.
To prevent it from overflowing during heating, the fondue pot should not be filled above the upper marking indicating the maximum filling level MAX.
  • Leave all parts to cool down fully before emptying, cleaning or moving the pot.
  • Never move the heating unit while the fondue pot is standing on it. The fondue pot might slip off.
  • The metal surfaces become very hot during operation. During operation, only touch the handles and control elements of the device.
  • During preparation do not leave the plastic spatula on the hot grill plate or in

the raclette pan. The plastic spatulas can also become hot.

  • The device remains very hot after it is switched off, and must not be touched.
  • Only transport the device when it has cooled down, and when doing so only use the handles intended for this purpose.
  • Use oven gloves when you are cooking food at hot temperatures. Spitting fat could otherwise cause burns.
  • Never use the device without the grill plate. Otherwise the red-hot heating elements would be exposed which could result in severe burns if touched.

SILVERCREST SRGF 1400 A3 - DANGER! Risk of injury through burning! - 1

DANGER! Risk of injury from cutting!

- Do not eat directly from the fondue forks. They are very sharp.

SILVERCREST SRGF 1400 A3 - DANGER! Risk of injury from cutting! - 1

DANGER for birds!

Birds breathe faster, distribute the air differently in their bodies and are significantly smaller than humans. For this reason, it may be dangerous for birds to inhale even the smallest smoke quantities, which develop while this device is in operation. When using this device, birds should be relocated into a different room.

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

  • Make sure that the device is switched off before you connect it to a wall socket.
  • The fondue pot must be filled at least up to the lower marking indicating the minimum filling level MIN, as less content can quickly overheat.
  • Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
  • The device is fitted with non-slip silicon feet. Because furniture can be coated with a wide variety of varnishes and plastics, and treated with various care

products, the possibility cannot be excluded that some of these substances have ingredients that may attack and soften the silicon feet. If necessary, place a non-slip mat under the device.

  • Splashes of fat may occur during operation. You should therefore place the device on a surface that is resistant to both heat and grease.
  • Do not pour liquid fat down the sink: when it cools, it may block the drains (see "Emptying the fondue pot" on page 30).
  • Make sure that the surface under the device is dry.
  • Never place the heating unit on hot surfaces (e.g. hot plates) or near sources of heat or open flame.
  • Use only the original accessories or replace the spatulas with wooden or heat-resistant plastic cutlery. Metal cutlery may damage the coated surface of the grill plate and raclette pans.
  • During heating up and operation, never leave empty raclette pans in the device. Overheating may damage the non-stick coating.
  • Do not place any objects on the device.

Make sure you protect your hands, e.g. with oven gloves, and only touch the fon-due forks 13 by the handles.
To prevent it from overflowing during heating, the fondue pot 4 should not be filled above the upper marking indicating the maximum filling level MAX 2.

6.1 Preparing device, switching on and off

  1. Choose a location that is firm, level and non-combustible. Keep a distance of approx. 30 cm from other objects.
  2. Turn the temperature control 8 to MIN. This switches off the heating.
  3. Slightly oil the inside of the raclette pans 11 and the top of the grill plate 5. Avoid the area for the fondue pot 4 if you also want to prepare a fondue.

NOTE: use a kitchen towel with a little cooking oil drizzled onto it.

  1. Place the grill plate 5 on the holders of the bottom part 7. Ensure that the grill plate 5 is correctly positioned on the holders.
  2. Insert the mains plug 6 into an easily accessible earthed wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate.

  3. Turn the temperature control 8 clockwise to MAX.

- During preparation do not leave the plastic spatula 12 on the hot grill plate 5 or in the raclette pan 11. The plastic spatulas can also become hot.

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

- Only use the plastic spatulas 12 included in the items supplied and under no circumstances cutlery made of metal.

  1. Place the raclette pan 11 in the device in the recesses 10 provided.

  2. Remove the raclette pan 11 from the device as soon as the ingredients are done.

  3. Push the contents of the raclette pan 11 onto a plate with a plastic spatula 12 and enjoy your meal.

NOTES:

  • As the raclette pan 11 has a non-stick coating, it does not need to be greased again before each additional portion.
  • If the coating of the raclette pans 11 has been damaged as a result of improper use, this is not a reason for complaint.

Grilling with the grill plate

The grill plate 5 is mainly used to grill meat, sausages, fruit and vegetables.

6.3 Preparing the fondue

The fondue method differs depending on the use. Also observe the respective chapters.

  1. Fill the fondue pot 4 with fat, broth or the ingredients for cheese or chocolate fondue, depending on how you want to use it. The filling volume must not exceed or fall short of the two filling level markings MIN 3 and MAX 2 in the pot.

  2. Place the fondue pot 4 on the grill plate 5.

  3. For fat and broth: place the splash guard 1 on the pot.

  4. Turn the temperature control 8 to the desired temperature for heating up. The control light 9 is lit.

7.1 Emptying the fondue pot

Fat which becomes hard when cooled down can be easily poured off when it is in a cooled but still liquid state. Liquid fat can be poured back into a suitable container, if required. Dispose of old fat via your local disposal facility or discard with household waste.

NOTE: burnt-on food or fat residue is often easier to remove if you fill the fondue pot 4 with water, add a sachet of baking soda and leave to stand overnight.

7.2 Cleaning the bottom part

  1. Clean the bottom part 7 with a damp cloth. You can also use a little dishwashing detergent.
  2. Wipe with clear water.
  3. Do not use the device until it is completely dry again.

7.3 Cleaning the grill plate and accessories

  1. Lift the grill plate 5 off the bottom part 7 after it has cooled down.
  2. Clean the grill plate 5, fondue pot 4, splash guard 1, fondue forks 13, raclette pans 11 and plastic spatulas 12 by hand in warm water with dishwashing detergent.
  3. In case of stubborn encrusted food, soak the parts in warm water for about 20 – 30 minutes. You can add a little dishwashing detergent to the water.
  4. Carefully dry all parts after cleaning.

7.4 Dishwasher

The fondue pot 4, splash guard 1, plastic spatulas 12 and fondue forks 13 can also be cleaned in the dishwasher.

7.5 Storing the device
