- Only use the kettle as intended. Misuse of the device may result in injury.

DANGER of burns
- Never touch the housing of the kettle [4] during and immediately after operation. Only use the handle [8] to hold or carry the kettle [4].
- Hot steam is released when the water boils. Be careful not to burn yourself. Wear an oven glove, if necessary. Turn the kettle (4) so that the steam is directed away from you.
- The surface of the heating element is still hot after use.
- Only clean the kettle (4) once it has cooled down completely.

- Only boil the water with the lid [10] closed. Otherwise water can escape and cause burn injuries and damage to property.
- Do not open the lid (10) while the water is being heated.

WARNING – potential damage to property
- Only use the kettle [4] with the corresponding base [5].
- Do not put any objects on the base [5].
- Only operate the kettle on a flat, stable and fire-proof surface. If the kettle is not placed on a level surface, it can tip over due to the movement of the boiling water and cause damage to property and under certain circumstances may also cause burn injuries.
- Never leave the kettle unattended when in use.
- Unplug the plug from the socket when the kettle is unattended.

DANGER of electric shock
- If the device's power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, their service department or by a similarly qualified person in order to prevent any hazards.
- Never open the housing of the base [5], as this does not contain any parts to be maintained. If the housing is open, there is a risk of electric shock.
- If you notice any smoke, unusual noises or smells, switch off the kettle immediately and remove the plug from the socket. If this happens, you must stop using the kettle until it has been checked by a specialist. If the device catches fire, do not inhale any resulting smoke. If you do inhale any smoke, seek medical attention. Inhaling smoke can be harmful to your health.
- Ensure that the power cable (6) cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot surfaces. Always wrap the power cable (6) around the cable rewind under the base (5) after use.
- Ensure that the power cable (6) is not jammed or squashed.
- The device must always be disconnected from the mains network if left unattended, prior to assembly and disassembly or cleaning.
- Never remove the plug from the power socket by pulling the power cable [6]; only ever pull the plug.
- If you find visible damage on the kettle or the power cable [6], switch off the device immediately, remove the plug from the power socket and contact the service department.
- Only plug the base (5) into a power socket that is properly installed and easily accessible and whose mains voltage corresponds with the rating plate specifications. The user does not have to do anything to switch the product between 50 and 60 Hz. The product is suitable for both 50 and 60 Hz supplies. Once the device is plugged in, the power socket must be kept easily accessible so that the plug can be pulled out quickly in an emergency.
- Do not spill liquid on the plug for the device.
- Never immerse the base [5] in water or any other liquid. If liquid enters the base [5], immediately remove the plug from the power socket and contact the customer service department.

RISK of fire
- Fill the pot (4) with a minimum of 0.5 litres of water. If you do not pour in enough water, there is a risk of fire due to overheating.
- Keep the kettle at least 50 cm away from flammable and combustible materials. There is a risk of fire.
5. Before initial use
Remove the SWKR 3100 C3 kettle and all accessories from the packaging and check the completeness of the delivery. Remove the protective film. Keep the packaging material away from children and dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly manner.
6. Initial use
Before you prepare water for consumption for the first time, you must first clean the pot [4] in order to remove dust and any remnants of the packaging material. Proceed as follows to clean the kettle:
- Open the lid [10] by pressing the lid release button [9] and remove the limescale filter [1]. Rinse the inside of the kettle [4] with clear water and clean the limescale filter [1] under running water.
- Fill the kettle [4] with drinking water up to '1.7 I MAX' on the water level gauge.
- Close the lid [10] by pressing it down. Boil the water once (see 'Boiling the water' section) and pour it away.
Repeat steps 1–3. Reinstall the limescale filter [1]. The kettle [4] is now clean. You can now use the kettle.
6.1 Boiling the water

DANGER of electric shock
Keep the base (5) away from water. There is danger of electric shock.
WARNING
Boil the water and pour it away twice before you use the kettle for the first time.
WARNING
Always use fresh drinking water. Do not drink water that has been in the kettle (4) for longer than an hour. Do not reheat water that has cooled down. Always pour away old water. Otherwise germs may form.
Cable rewind
An integrated cable rewind is located on the underside of the base [5]. You can adapt the length of the power cable [6] to the conditions at the location in which you are using the kettle.
You can minimise the length of the cable when you are not using the kettle.

text_image
5 6- Unwind the power cable [6] on the underside of the base [5].
- Place the base [5] on a flat, non-slip and dry surface. Make sure that the power cable [6] passes through one of the openings on the underside of the base [5]. This is to ensure that the kettle is positioned securely.

WARNING
If the power cable [6] does not pass through one of the openings on the underside of the base [5], the base [5] and kettle [4] are not positioned securely. The movement of the boiling water can make the kettle tip over and cause serious damage to property and cause injuries!
- Open the lid [10] by pressing the lid release button [9].
- Fill the kettle [4] with drinking water up to a minimum of '0.5 I MIN' and a maximum of '1.7 I MAX' on the water level gauge [3] and close the lid [10] by pressing it down.

You can freely rotate the kettle [4] by 360° around its vertical axis when you place it on the base [5]. The kettle does not need to be locked into a particular position. This way, you can turn the kettle [4] so that the water level gauge [3] is easy to see or to direct the steam from the kettle away from you.
- Plug the connector into a power socket, which is always easily accessible.
- Place the kettle (4) on the base (5) and press the ON/OFF switch (7) down in order to switch on the kettle (4). The ON/OFF switch (7) integrated into the status display lights up white. The kettle makes noise during the heating process. This is not due to a malfunction.

DANGER of burns
Turn the kettle [4] so that the steam is directed away from you. Otherwise you could burn yourself.
Only boil water with the closed lid [10] on. Otherwise the kettle [4] can tip over and cause burn injuries and damage to property.
- As soon as the water boils, the kettle [4] switches off. The ON/OFF switch [7] automatically returns to the upper position and the integrated status display goes out.
- Pull out the power cable [6] plug from the socket, remove the kettle [4] from the base [5] and pour out the water.

DANGER of burns
Never touch the housing of the kettle [4] during and immediately after operation. Only use the handle [8] to hold or carry the kettle [4].
Hot steam is released when the water boils. Be careful not to burn yourself. Wear an oven glove, if necessary. Turn the kettle (4) so that the steam is directed away from you.

DANGER of burns
Always make sure that the lid [10] is shut when pouring out the water. Hot water could otherwise flow out of the opening at the top used to fill the kettle.
7. Maintenance/cleaning

DANGER of burns
Wait until the kettle (4) has cooled down completely before cleaning it. Otherwise you could burn yourself.

DANGER of electric shock
Always remove the plug from the power socket before cleaning commences. Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock.
Do not pour or spray any liquids onto the base [5] or immerse it into water or any other liquids. Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock and a fire hazard due to short circuits.

WARNING – potential damage to property
Do not use any scratching or abrasive cleaning agents or abrasive objects [such as a metal scourer] for cleaning purposes. Otherwise the pot [4] may be damaged.
- Rinse the inside of the kettle [4] with clear water.
- Clean the outer surfaces of the kettle [4] or base [5] with a slightly damp cloth. Use some washing up-liquid on the damp cloth for stubborn stains. Make sure to remove any detergent residue from the kettle [4] and base [5] before using the kettle again. Dry the kettle [4] and base [5] thoroughly before the next use.

You can use a cleaning or bottle brush with a long handle to remove stubborn stains from inside the kettle [4].
7.1 Descaling the kettle [4]
Limescale may build up in the kettle (4) over time. This can lead to loss of energy and shorten the kettle's service life. You should therefore remove the limescale as soon as it becomes visible.
- Use a descaling agent that is used for coffee machines and other household devices. Proceed as described in the instructions for the descaling agent.
- Rinse the kettle (4) with plenty of clear water several times after descaling it.
7.2 Cleaning the limescale filter [1]
A limescale filter [1] is installed in the kettle [4]. You should clean the limescale filter from time to time. Proceed as follows to clean the limescale filter [1]:
- Remove the cooled down kettle [4] from the base [5].
-
Open the lid [10] by pressing the lid release button [9].
-
Reach carefully into the kettle [4] with your hand and grasp the limescale filter [1] at the upper end [A]. Press the catch [B], which is visible on the spout [2], slightly downwards until the limescale filter [1] can be removed.
- Place the limescale filter [1] in a warm descaling solution for household appliances (such as for coffee machines) for several hours and then rinse it thoroughly with clear water.
- To insert the limescale filter [1], first insert it from the inside with the guide lug [C] into the lower end of the spout opening. Then press it in the direction of the spout [2] until the catch [B] securely clicks into place.
- Close the lid (10) by pressing it down.
