Philips Zoom! DayWhite/NiteWhite Teeth Whitening Gels are consumer use (take-home) products intended for whitening discolored natural teeth.
Conditions of use and warnings
-This product is not for use on patients with underlying oral or health issues. Before any whitening treatment, a consultation with a qualified dentist is recommended to ensure that no underlying oral or health issues exist, there is no decay, and all restorations are intact or well-sealed with adequate temporary materials.
English 5
-Before beginning treatment, a prophylaxis should be performed to ensure the patient is free of calculus and easily removable extrinsic stains.
-To be only sold to dental practitioners. For each cycle of use, the first use to be only done by dental practitioners or under their direct supervision if an equivalent level of safety is ensured. Afterwards to be provided to the consumer to complete the cycle of use.
-Not to be used on a person under 18 years of age.
-Do not use the product within two weeks prior to or immediately after dental restoration.
-Not for use by pregnant women or habitual tobacco and/or alcohol users.
-Not for use on patients with hypersensitive teeth and teeth with large pulp cavities.
-DayWhite and NiteWhite products either contain hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Rinse immediately if product comes into contact with them.

-NiteWhite 16% Carbamide Peroxide: 5.9% hydrogen peroxide released.

6 English
-If you experience any tooth sensitivity, irritation (such as redness, swelling, soreness) of the gums or the mouth, toothache, defective restorations, nausea, etc., discontinue use and consult an oral health professional.
-Keep out of reach of children.
-Irritant and risk of serious damage to the eyes.
-Do not use damaged trays as gel could leak, resulting in gingival irritation.
-Consult your oral health professional before prolonged use of this product.
-Cease all treatment and contact your dentist immediately if any problem develops.
Kit contents
-Whitening gel syringes (3 x 2.4 ml)
First aid instructions
-Contact a Poisons Information Center or a doctor at once if a large quantity of whitening gel is swallowed. Provide the ingredient label if possible.
-If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Immediately drink a glass of water.
-If whitening gel gets into the eyes, hold the eyelids apart and flush the eyes continuously with running water for at least 15 minutes.
-If clothing, skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush the skin or hair with running water.
-If an allergic reaction to the whitening gel occurs, remove the whitening trays, wipe off teeth, do not swallow, rinse out mouth, and seek immediate medical attention.
Precautions
Teeth discoloration can be caused by food, drink, tobacco stains, aging, certain medications (like tetracycline or minocycline), excessive flouride, root canal treatments, and natural color changes.
English 7
Before any whitening procedure, a consultation with a qualified dentist is recommended to ensure no underlying oral or health issues exist.
When performing teeth whitening procedures, it's important to:
-Note the current color of the teeth.
-Understand that teeth whitening gel will not whiten existing dental fillings.
- Wait two weeks after whitening before getting any aesthetic restorations as the final whitening shade will be achieved at this time.
-Avoid bonded restorations within 2 weeks before or 7-10 days post-whitening.
-Be mindful that temporary materials could change color upon exposure to whitening gel.
-Deep stains, like from tetracycline, might need longer treatment times.
Patient's expectations
-Results vary by patient. Individual anatomy, age, dental conditions, oral hygiene and starting tooth shade can impact results.
-You should have realistic expectations about the final results. Use the shade guide provided to record your starting and ending shades.
-Note that crowns, veneers, fillings, dentures and restorations will not whiten and may require replacement following the whitening treatment.
-Although most users will achieve optimal results within 1-2 weeks, consult your dentist about continued use if not satisfied with the results. Do not use longer than 2 weeks without first contacting your dentist.
-The area of the tooth closest to the gums may take longer to lighten than the biting edge. It will also remain the darkest part of the tooth.
-Tooth whitening may cause temporary dehydration of teeth resulting in white spots or striations. Uneven whitening will fade to normal within 2-7 days of using the whitening product. Optimum color will be achieved within 2 weeks.

Application instructions
Review the product's Instructions for Use with your dentist and ask for a demonstration of how to apply the whitening gel correctly.
1 Floss and brush your teeth.
2 Remove the protective cap from the syringe by twisting it in a counterclockwise motion and pulling it off.

5 Place a small amount of gel in each tooth compartment of the tray.
Warning: Do not overfill your tray with gel, as this may cause gum irritation when excess gel gets pushed out of the trays and onto your gums. Whitening tray has been designed to fit snugly against your teeth.

natural_image

Note: The gel drop shown represents the average size drop for each tooth compartment, depending on the size of your teeth. The whitening gel is absorbed into the tooth and whitens from the inside, so it is not important to cover the entire tooth with whitening gel. Each 2.4 ml syringe contains enough gel for 3 whitening applications (when using both top and bottom trays).
6 Place the tray with gel in your mouth. As you insert the tray, be careful not to push the gel out of the tray. Bubbling within the trays is normal.

-Use extra care to avoid getting gel on your gums. Remove excess gel with a cotton swab or dry toothbrush. -See 'Treatment time' for the recommended wear time. Exceeding specified treatment time may result in tooth sensitivity and/or gum irritation, and will not lead to better results.
7 Place the tip protector on the tip of the nozzle. 8 Remove the mixing nozzle from the syringe by twisting it counterclockwise and replace it with the clear protective cap for storage after use to ensure the ingredients in each side of the barrel stay separate.

English
9 After whitening, rinse the trays with cold water. If necessary, use a toothbrush to remove residual gel from the trays. Place the trays in the storage case and allow to air dry before closing.
Warning: Do not use hot water or the dishwasher to clean trays. Doing so will deform them.
Note: It is normal to see dark colors in trays where you have amalgam (silver) fillings. Gel oxidizes surface stains on amalgam fillings, but it will not affect the whitening process.
10 Rinse and brush your teeth to remove excess gel.
11 Store the trays and the syringes in a cool, dry place between 15^ C and 25^ C. Do not refrigerate or freeze the gel.
Treatment time
Product name Recommended wear time
| DayWhite6% HP | 30-60 minutes once daily or 30-45 minutes twice daily |

| NiteWhite16% CP | 4-6 hours once daily or overnight |
-Arrange a follow-up appointment with your dentist, if possible, 2 weeks from the whitening start date to evaluate the final results.
-Duration of one treatment is up to 2 weeks. To maintain your desired smile, you can repeat the treatment every few months.
Post-Treatment
-Avoid staining foods, drinks (such as coffee, tea and red wine) and tobacco for 30 minutes after each treatment.
English
-Continue good oral hygiene by brushing twice a day and flossing.
-At your regular six month check-up, ask your dentist to evaluate your shade.
Potential adverse effects
Adverse effects that may be associated with the use of a whitening product containing peroxide include, but are not limited to:
Sensitivity
-Patients more susceptible to sensitivity are those with exposed root surfaces, defective restorations, exposed dentin, oral soft tissue injury, periodontal disease, recession, untreated caries, cracked teeth, abfractions, open cavities or leaking fillings.
- Some patients may experience increased tooth sensitivity to cold during the treatment, while others may have non-specific sensitivity in their teeth and irritation to gums, tongue, lips or throat. Symptoms should subside within 1-3 days.
-If teeth are sensitive, try whitening every other day or every third night/day or ask your dentist for a lower concentration gel.
-Ask your dentist for a 5% potassium nitrate toothpaste.
-A Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory (NSAIDs) drug may be taken for pain, adhering to the respective drug's instructions for use as well as a recommendation from your dentist for acceptable use.
Gum Irritation
-When whitening gel comes in contact with your gums, it may cause gum irritation. This includes redness, a burning feeling, or white spots on the gums.
-Trays that extend onto the gingiva (gums) may cause soft tissue irritation. If the trays extend over your gums, have your dentist trim them.
12 English
- Reduce the amount of gel in your trays and use extra care to avoid getting gel on your gums. Remove excess gel with a cotton swab or a dry toothbrush.
If all of the above options have been exhausted and you still have gum irritation or sensitivity, treatment should be ceased until the irritation subsides. Resume treatment with shorter, less frequent applications until the desired whitening effect has been achieved. If discomfort continues, discontinue the treatment and consult your dental professional.
Storage instructions
Store the product between 15 °C and 25 °C in a dark, dry place. Storage temperatures above 25 °C will result in reduced shelf life.

Disposal instructions
Dispose of this product in accordance with local waste regulations.
